A fun time watching Temple basketball! The Liacouras Center is easy to get to by car or Septa. Parking lots and street parking are available. I parked about a block away. It is clean, has lots of bathrooms and has a small shop selling Temple gear. A few fun activities were happening in the concourse. As far as venues go this one is clean and located near convenient parking. Its in the heart of the north Philadelphia and while some may not feel comfortable, I felt completely safe. Service was also friendly. The downside is that staff seemed very clueless or appeared to be directing people one way throughout the comedy show I was attending. This caused many distractions in the setting area especially for those already watching the show. read more

I saw Trey Songz here, it was great. It didn't take much to get through security or find our seats. The balcony seat were a bit steep, if I tilted too much i felt like I could've fell. Also the bathroom had a huge puddle of mysterious liquid spanning the area of the floor and it was a huge bathroom. I would suggest they do maintenance during the shows to make sure guests feel comfortable. read more

Went to my first concert here and everything went pretty smoothly. I saw the rapper Gunna on his Wunna One World Tour. The line to get in went fast and I was able to get to my seat easily. Was starting to feel a way being that I missed out on the DC show. Gave my ticket to my youngest sister because I felt she needed the night out more than me... she raved so much about her experience I had to find the closest show and experience it for myself! What a great show! The wife and I saw Cirque du Soleil here and it was a great experience! The location is easy to get to and we found some nearby street parking and walked over. It's a pretty standard process of check in - going through metal detectors and checking bags. Once inside, there's a few eateries that you can grab food from but we ended up holding off as the lines were long. I think for a circus performance, this was a great venue. It's a center stage with seating all around so there really wasn't a bad seat in the house. The workers were good about keeping things secure and safe and ushering people around during intermission and at the end of the show. The lines for the bathrooms weren't too bad and overall moved decently. Great show and great arena! read more

Plenty of legroom at my seat in the first row of my section, but the concrete wall in front of me partially blocks my view of the court. Security staff were quite rude and disorganized and had a conniption when I arrived at the arena with an umbrella on a day when it's pouring outside. Other arenas in the Philly area ( the Palestra, Wells Fargo, etc.) seem to be more professionally run than this place. read more

Great venue for a Sunday matinee show. We watched cirque du soleil here and it was wonderful! The layout of the stage allows for good views from pretty much the whole theater. The food stalls were a bit lacking but we did get pizza during the intermission. They ran out of popcorn which was disappointing but I think it could be bc it was the last show. This is a Temple University sports venue that has other entertainment and sporting events scheduled sporadically throughout the year. I've been to a few basketball games here and with no threat of a sell-out there's ample room to spread out and enjoy the proceedings in reasonable comfort. The food options are bare bones but if you're looking for a dog and a soft drink it's fine. If you're looking for a beer, try one of the nearby dormitories, just bring fake ID. Parking decks are available close by and street parking is a mere rumor. Given the sparse attendance, Liacouras is much better than average and is a reasonable facsimile of a professional arena considering there are some college facilities that can test the limits of grammar school accommodations. If you're still pining for the full VIP experience with bottle service and $500 trays of bad cheesesteaks to lubricate your sales force, stick to the Wells Fargo Center and Citizens Bark Park. I love this arena and all seats are pretty darn good! My son and I went to see the Globetrotters and had great seats (first row after the folding chairs on the floor!). The Globetrotters were excellently entertaining of course, and the sound system, lighting, etc. were all superb! There were pretty good selections for food in the lobby. I had a $4.50 slice of pizza that was surprisingly decent - both in size and taste (I did blot excess grease off w/ my napkin). Chickie and Pete's is also housed there w/ others, including spots w/ alcoholic options (no thanks). I saw Cirque here about 5 years ago and the show was exceptional. We parked in the Liacourus parking lot for $17 and only had to go down the steps and one block to the center. Even though it was so cold (3/11/17), the walk wasn't bad at all. Easy in and easy out. After many a month of commuting past the Liacouras Center, I finally stepped in a couple weeks back for a Temple men's basketball game. They lost by a point in the very end, but it was still worth the trip. The arena is a little smaller than I thought it'd be, but it's still nice. Angry dads are funny. The Temple gear out front is expensive. The parking garage confused me. After the game, everyone left out the entrance rather than the exit (???), which made for a tough time of backing out of my spot without hitting other cars. Didn't really understand that one. When we...Yesssss Tank! Talk about getting your ENTIRE life! Imagine walking in to your favorite male artist SANGIN' to just you...with his shirt OFF!!!...WHEW!!! I mean...yeeeess...there were other people there of course (as it was a concert) but I KNOW his eyes were on me. With those pecks in my view it was hard to notice much else until intermission. I hadn't even found my seat because he was already on stage when I arrived. So, I took the break to locate it. Seventh row second seat. The floor seats are padded folding chairs, placed extremely close together. I had to give my neighbors a disclaimer; will explode into some sangin joy spontaneously...they understood. I wasn't in my seat most of the time anyway. However, they were comfortable enough for the time length of the event. I opted for a floor seat because who doesn't want to see Tank up close? Plus Fantasia is my absolute favorite EVER and I had to see that beauty face to face. It didn't take long to find my seat so once the "Tank Trance" wore off, it was time to nourish my soul from that excursion. Like most, they had vendors with inflated prices. But if you mosey on down to the last stop on the trail you'll get to chomp on some UH-may-ZING!! nachos. They were so heavy and hearty I was in heaven. They weren't as expensive as the other food places. Their price was listed as $10-12 but they only charged $8. The portion was so ridiculously large that I offered 3 other ladies on my row to join in on the eats. They keep it clean. Although there were people trying to smoke in the ladies room, they tactfully handled it. All staff was personable and super helpful....so much so that I found me and one of the security ladies have the same name but different spelling. We hugged at the end like we had known each other for years. Great time! Great venue, plenty of options. read more

Very unorganized! We were supposed to be allowed to enter by 5pm with VIP tickets and we didn't get in until around 5:45pm. There were very few staff members and only two metal detector lines. Arrived 4 hours early to get good pit tickets and waited on the wall where the venue staff told us general admission line up and an hour before the doors open they told us to we were on the wrong side and told us to go to the back of the line, multiple times the "new lines" they made were moved. This is an A-OK venue, really. Came here to see Sam Smith perform in early January. It's a good thing that I love that singer so I forgot about the venue. Honestly, I wouldn't consider this one an appropriate venue for concerts. It's not that hard to understand that it's made for sporting events, in particular. The check in personnel was quick and would greet/tell to enjoy the show. There was plenty of "junky" food available which smelled horrific. I guess that's how the young crowd gets attracted. If I would ever go here, would be for either a game or another event that could probably be a graduation, not anymore for a concert. read more

I've only been here once, for the Cirque du Soleil "Dralion." I've seen a few other Cirque shows in the past, all in Las Vegas, where they have theaters dedicated to that one specific show, so the special effects have a considerable "wow" factor. Obviously, these traveling shows are limited in what they can do, but I thought it was still very entertaining in spite of the limitations of an all-purpose arena. I wasn't hungry so I can't really complain about the price of concessions. I'm sure they are overpriced, but they are in basically any arena or ballpark in the country. So that's a non-issue. I am kind of tall, and there was very little leg room. This is also a non-issue. All arenas are basically the same. The seats are kind of uncomfortable and plastic and you keep fidgeting to get comfortable, which is a sisyphean struggle. So, I guess what I am saying is: There is nothing special about the Liacouras Center, other than I found the parking on Broad St. to be ample, so that made me happy. I'm A-OK with this place, and would go back if there was something there I wanted to see. read more

Horrible parking situation even when I prepaid. Terrible infrastructure. Unfriendly staff at the parking lot. Horribly long lines for concessions and just all around a bad experience. If you have money to spend on expensive tickets and then miss the first forty five minutes waiting to park, then this is the place for you. Get your act together before hosting an event with this many people. Temple actually plays sports there? Do people even go? I'll start with the good because the bad is just stupid. Came here to see Cirque du Soleil's Dralion, and for that the venue was good. We had balcony seats, but really it's not a huge theater so any section would probably be fine for viewing the stage. The seats themselves look like cheap plastic, but were reasonably comfortable for a two hour performance. The tall boyfriend suffered from no legroom, but he's used to that by now. They basically trap you inside. We wanted to get in early because Cirque usually sends in the clowns pre-show while everyone is getting seated, so we didn't have time to grab a bite from outside the venue. $6 hot dog? No thanks. Unfortunately, no pre-show either. Well, over an hour later during the twenty minute intermission, we figured we had enough time to grab something from the Wendy's next door. We were told that if we left we wouldn't be able to get in again. I said I just wanted to pop out for a smoke, and was directed to another exit... which was blocked off from the outside with steel barricades, allowing smokers a tiny triangle to puff away but no way to actually leave the venue. So we caved and picked up a $6 hotdog (in a stale bun) and a $4 small bottle of Sierra Mist, and then a $5 ice cream cone. Stupid. Also the lobby and vendors are dingy looking. So yeah, no need to avoid this place if there's something you want to see, but definitely allocate some time for eating out beforehand. Because once you're in you're trapped. TRAPPED. read more

I have attended several events at the Liacouras Center. Unfortunately not one time have I been satisfied with the sound system It is always "muddy". This makes for garbled speech, just loud music sounds and off balance audio. read more

We took our mom and aunts to see Steve Harvey perform his last and final leg of his comedy tour here. One of my favorite parts of his performance was that he kept calling Philly a "raggedy ass city." That made me chuckle 'til my mascara ran down my cheeks. But seriously. The man has a point. The venue was just fine HOWEVER they really need to work on getting their traffic control together. It took us over an hour to get to a parking lot within a 10 block radius. This is a pretty big center that is used to large crowds because it hosts concerts, and college athletics, they should have these logistics figured out by now. read more

I've come here to see about a dozen comedy shows and each time my group and I have a great time. My only complaint is that even though LC has a great location, parking can be a hassle. If you're not trying to take Septa, be prepared to pay to put it in a lot or arrive early in order to get the limited street parking. The staff at the LC are friendly and always show us to our seats. The concessions are decent but typically way overpriced so eat either before or after...unless you're trying to impress a date or something ;-) Seats are kinda small and plastic-y but nevertheless doable. Place is not that big so wherever you sit is a good seat. I'll def be there for the next comedy show! read more

This venue is very easily accessible. I took the number three bus there and was dropped off right across the street. Another option for arriving there is the Broad street train line, OR, there is UberX or a regular taxi or ride your bike or scooter. I *love* Philly and it's fantastic accessibility! Why anyone would drive a car to this location (or own a car in Philly) is beyond me. I just don't get it. I attended the Bernie Sanders Rally on April 6, 2016 and it was fantastic! The people running the door and Secret Service did their jobs very well and were not rude or condescending like the T.S.A. The seating was comfortable enough, bathrooms pretty clean. This venue has horrible food though. How hard is it to offer french fries that are made of real potato and are not doused with offensive amounts of salt? read more

Been here couple times, been quite some time since i Returned. Went to go see Steve Harvey Saturday night. IT just confirmed why I don't go to these events-anymore. It was good show & all, but it brings out the Rift raft, derelicts, just obscene. Parking is a Bitch, once you find parking, walking up to your seats-it OK. On your way back, getting out is worse. Direct you one way, Thank goodness I know my way around Philly, maneuvered back to The main arteries-but it was chaos with people in parking lot -in itself. Caught a concert here and its a decent venue. There is a large parking garage across the street, although $14 isn't a bargain. Nor was the $4 bottle of water. Not a great place for a concert. The line took forever to get in due to disorganization. We had to wait in an extremely long line so they could sort us by gender, pat everyone down, check our bags, and then we had to get into another long line so they could scan our tickets. Inside, the sound isn't great, but since it's a small venue, you get a somewhat intimate performance. read more

It's a great venue. Smaller but still great for a show. I've seen concerts, Cirque Solei, and basketball games there. I enjoyed all the different events and it was great to see it in all its forms. It's easily accessible from the subway. The parking garage is located behind and can be a little chaotic but that's pretty much normal for events of these types. read more

Caught a performance by Cirque du Soleil here a few years back. Not a great fit. The show suffered from the venue. Everyone was seated so far away, it made the performance seem small and less impressive. Parking was a bit challenging and the streets around the center were congested and a tad confusing. Concessions were pricey, but they always are a Cirque du Soleil, so that's no biggie. Might be a good place to watch a basketball game. Nothing for eats or drinks nearby before or after a show or game. read more

Just went to a Temple bball there on a Saturday. I have been to many events at this venue but I thought that I would add a more recent review. The area is coming along nicely with lots of new stores and venues. Next door at McGonigle Hall there is now a Cosi coffee shop. Also the Liacouras Center has really stepped up it's beer selection. Most college games don't offer beer. Alcohol sales stop after half time which is ok with me. The food is not cheap but it never is at any top level venue. The Liacouras Center is setup more like a pro arena with luxury boxes and other offerings. The arena seats 10k which is about right. Parking is available at the attached garage but I generally like to get there early and find and on street spot. Make sure you read the parking signs carefully because Philly likes to write tickets. I advise trying to get a lower level seat if you can. There are two nice pubs on Cecil B. Moore ave if you want to hangout after the game... read more
