We also ordered appetizers: pub sampler with hot wings, crispy potato skins and Italian stuffed mushrooms. It was delicious. I stayed at the Marriott Courtyard hotel and this place was within walking distance. When you first walk in, the entryway definitely gives you library vibes. However, the dining rooms did not. Had lunch with a friend today and this place is close to her work. I loved my food, we shared the Italian stuffed mushrooms, they were delicious! Cheesy and a delicious sauce. Bravo!! I had the special which was Fish and Chips in a beer batter, a freshly made slaw and steak fries. The fish was delicious probably the best fish a chips I ever had had. I've been here twice now, once for lunch and dinner. Neither experience was great. The food is also what you would expect from a restaurant in the 90s. The menu is very outdated and WAY overpriced. Imagine eating at Longhorn and paying the price of St. Elmo's. We sat at the bar and had good service. We had a rack of ribs, steak fries, and a wedge salad. The ribs were not great, steak fries were mushy, and the wedge was meh. A menu revamp could go a long way here. Wow! We were in The Library Pub when they had a location on the North West side of Indy. This was years and years ago. Some friends were visiting from out of town and wanted to meet for steak. The Library Pub came up on Yelp search. We were sceptical when we pulled in due to the lack of cars in the parking lot. Our server was great and didn't miss a beat with refills. We ordered Loaded Potato Skins. Our friends got Stuffed Mushrooms and French Onion Soup. Our Potato Skins were great. They were loaded with lots of bacon and cheese. We didn't taste the other appetizers , but the plate and bowl were empty. They must have been good. I got Salmon and Green Beans. Husband got Filet with Ceasar Salad. Salmon was a nice thick piece seasoned and cooked very well. Husbands steak was tender and also seasoned well. Everyone but me got the Stuffed Brownie for dessert. I had a couple bites of my husbands. It was delicious. We were all super happy with our meals and wondered why we haven't been here. Restaurant was clean and decorated very nicely. This is a hidden gem. I do not know if it was a library previously, but it is decorated like one as you walk in. There is ample parking available in their private lot. They have a large dining area, a bar area and patio where you can all eat and/or drink. I ate in the dining area. They also have a reception/meeting room in the front that you can rent. It is a very nice place. It has a high end feel, but for the blue collar worker. There is no dress code and the food is reasonably priced. I rolled up in there in sweatpants and a t-shirt. They have an extensive menu that includes burgers, wraps, sandwiches, salads, and their specialty...steaks. They also have daily lunch specials, which the lunch special for Friday just happened to be fish and chips. I was like, yes please. It took about 15 minutes to get my meal and it was fresh and delicious. I will admit that the cole slaw that came with it, had a bit too much onion in it for my taste. Our server was very nice and attentive. She always had me another drink at my table, right before I finished the one I was working on. I always like when that happens. This is a very nice restaurant that serves lunch and dinner (there are closed for 2 hours between the two). They have a very cool vibe. What an unexpected surprise! I had heard that this place was good and wanted to give it a shot. Upon arriving, I was the only car in the parking lot, which made me a little uneasy. I'm so happy I still have it a go! The service from Brittany was prompt, friendly, and efficient. She was so personable! The food.... Y'all, that steak I will be craving until I go back. The blue cheese dressing was made in house and you could definitely tell it was. It was so delicious! The only thing that wasn't a 10/10 for me was the mushroom and onion side. This restaurant is consistently great! The food quality is high, the atmosphere is unique, and the staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. This is another safe place for my wife with food allergies and celiac disease to enjoy great-tasting and healthy food. The same people who own Divvy (also Amazing!!) also own the library. That means excellent-tasting food worth every penny you pay to eat here. I love the Library for business meetings or gathering with friends. Speaking of food...They start off with garlic bread (which is pretty tasty). Some people ordered the soup of the day, others got a variety of salads. I got the wedge salad, but replaced the blue cheese and tomatoes with ranch dressing (they have a good ranch dressing btw). Each entree comes with two sides. I got the New York Strip Steak with a loaded baked potato and sauté green beans. The portions were plentiful. The steak was cooked perfectly. It was a large cut. I had a portion of the potato and green beans, but the meal was big enough for two to three people. I ordered the salted brownie to go. Another huge portion! There was a restaurant that they remembered eating at one time that wasn't good, but they couldn't remember the name. We decided on The Library and as soon as we parked, a few of my coworkers immediately recognized the building and said this was the restaurant that was not good. But because the recent reviews seemed positive, we decided to stay and try it in case they had changed management or changed up the menu. I was a little worried but ended up being pleasantly surprised. I ordered the chicken fettuccine alfredo and it was very good! I ordered a cocktail that our server recommended. I don't remember the name, but it had apple cider and bourbon in it. I got the creme brulee for dessert and it was so yummy! To me, it's a pretty good sized portion but I finished it. We had it all to ourselves. The decor hadn't changed at all since we had been there last. It's very, very dated!! We went through the menu and were shocked at the prices! They were higher that I expected. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. We ordered a couple of cocktails that were mediocre at best. Skipped appetizers since the entrees were so pricey. I had the prime rib and hubs had a ribeye. When it arrived, the rib-eye was over cooked( supposed to be medium rare) and mine was almost cold. But for some reason, I didn't send mine back. I was starving! The sides of mashed potatoes and sautéed green beans were hot and delightful! And although my meat was cold it was delicious! My husband got a new steak that was perfectly cooked. I found this when searching vegan and omni options. Located right off Lynhurst and I 70. The building is beautiful and ornate and located where an old French restaurant was. The menu has salads, soups, sandwiches and for me several well marked vegan options. I did not look at the dinner menu. I had the vegan chicken philly sandwich. It was good. I would have like a vegan cheese melted and toasted under a broiler. The cucumber salad was excellent. My lunch friends had the cheese steak burgers and fries. All excellent by their report.
