We were traveling with a newborn baby, so the mold was a big deal for us and felt like a safety concern. The hosts were kind enough to refund part of our trip. This house is highly rated on Yelp and other hotel websites, but I think the rating is for the personality and hospitality of the hosts, not the quality of the accommodations. It's great if you want to feel like a guest in someone's house, but not if you want to stay in a nice place. I recommend Airbnb if you want the "house feel," or you could just book a hotel (which is what we ended up doing).

The rooms are stocked with snacks and there's some local artwork you can purchase if you like. The upstairs suite doesn't have any kind of a kitchen, though there's a mini-fridge and I believe a microwave, so dishes are bussed out as you use them; don't plan on doing any food prep on your own. The hostess brought breakfast to the room (there's not a common dining room like most B&Bs) and pointed out the local ingredients including eggs from her chickens and vegetables from the garden. This is a real working mini-farm and it's fun to stroll the grounds and see what is going on. And it's VERY close to the northeast corner of the campus; we were able to leave our car and walk to his dorm (Van Meter) in about 20 minutes. Like the website says, the grounds are very rich in animals and there's an extremely friendly cat who wouldn't stay out of our room in spite of the management's desire to keep the premises pet-free. The contemporary deco was fun while still providing a home away from home feel. The owners have a restaurant named Memo's across the street. We had a fabulous breakfast at Memo's at very reasonable prices. I had mentioned to the owner Christine that it had been my son's birthday the night while we were checking in. The next morning while we had breakfast at Memo's without being asked the owner and restaurant staff surprised my son with a chocolate muffin and candle and a birthday song. It was nice of her to remember and It made the start of his birthday getaway weekend very special. Christine was super attentive to our needs and answered any questions we had as 1st timers there. Lily's Lodge was just 10 minutes from 6 Flags and is right across the street from the annual Big E entrance. While staying at Lily's Lodge it felt like were were truly away yet still had very easy access to the main road which makes it convenient for quick trips to grab last minute items you may have forgotten to pack or just to do some shopping.
