Jay's B&B was very comfortable and welcoming. Our business trip was so much better thanks to Jay's hospitality.

Show up after working all day and a 2 hour drive, Otherwise I would have turned around and done something another weekend. The rundown outside sums up what you'll see on the inside. Unkempt grounds, dirty windows, weird parking areas....You're not allowed to park out front. Come in at 3pm. Woman sees me then walks away... stood there a good 10 minutes under a flickering light that would cause a seizure before another woman checked me in.... Only to learn that the indoor water park is NOT open. I drive around the building to my parking area.... garbage everywhere, windows are filthy, you can see that many of the drapes are stained and worn from the outside. Inside it doesn't get much better. You walk through the door and there's a musty odour. My door didn't fully close... Kind of makes you wonder how many times it was kicked in? Windows are dirty, drapes are torn and stained, cracks in the walls, wallpaper peeling off, air conditioner was on but none of the buttons worked - - I literally had to unplug it. Crumbs inside the drawers.... I made it a point to pull apart the bed (convinced there is probably bed bugs) Luckily I did not find any, but doesn't mean there's not fleas because I definitely feel itchy. Bathroom appeared clean - - Glad we are up-to-date on our tetanus inoculations in the event we cut ourselves on the rusty metal broken toilet paper holder. This $**** hole cost $411 for 2 nights.

After a long drive to get to the hotel, she got us checked in quickly with no problems. However the grounds are unkept. Although, I will say the room was quite spacious and was not tight quarter's whatsoever. The location of the place is perfect because it was convenient to A LOT of shopping and places to eat that were affordable.

Checking in, we asked for our free water and was handed two bottles and a snack in a paper bag. The room card worked for checking out the pool, but not the Fitness Center or Laundry Room. Seems they're trying to convert their guests to using the app, but I wasn't interested. The room was basic. Two beds, a desk area, a ledge on which was set the flat screen tv which doubled as a mirror for us. Mini fridge, and open clothing hanging area, additional wall hangers perfect for 3 to use for a jacket and a mask or purse. The hair dryer hung in the bathroom in a cloth bag. No more mini bottles, as they had soap and lotions dispensers attached to the wall (sadly empty, as they weren't see through, which makes the staff guess at when to refill). The shower glass was completely see through, however, which causes trouble for friends sharing a room who just don't feel comfortable being THAT intimate. The courtesy breakfast was pretty good though. The star was the pancake maker, which poured out batter at the wave of a hand to cook them up fresh as it travelled along the conveyor belt. There was also warm oatmeal to be enjoyed with the optional accompaniments: brown sugar, dried cranberries, sliced almonds. I spotted individual yogurts and milk that I poured in a mini fridge. We had scrambled eggs and sausages sitting in heating trays that were refilled by the lady manning the breakfast station as we dined. There was also bread and bagels available for toasting, and I spotted a microwave we could access if needed. We took advantage of the option to check out online once the car was packed for our departure. Nothing grand, but it was sufficient for our needs.

The room itself left a lot to be desired. First, it smelled like sweaty gym socks and of course the hotel was full so no option to switch rooms nor did they make any effort to alleviate the atrocious smell. Secondly, the wall paper was peeling off both in the room and in the bathroom. Third, the bathroom was not clean. The tub was disgusting. There was hair left around the room and we were a little nervous to sleep in the beds. Breakfast was included and standard continental offerings - make your own waffles, some form of scrambled egg, breakfast meats and usually a steamed packaged item, cereals, yogurts, granola and oatmeal with assorted juices and coffee that was so bad I spit it out. On our last visit, that person called in sick. BUT they refunded each room $30 for it. And when I think about it, that almost paid for our alternative breakfast at the Cracker Barrel next door. I sat in the lobby that morning and listened to how they handled various customer issues. They are very responsive and professional. I would only suggest that housekeeping be more proactive. They knew there would be four guests, so I shouldn't have had to asked for enough towels every day (they would have 4 bath towels, but only 2 face towels and 2 hand towels.
