Great course. Good value and a lot of coupons floating around out there for a great deal.

Tee times are spaced 10 minutes apart so generally everybody keeps up but it would be nice to have more ranger management on the weekends. Honestly, if you're going to play this course smart, you're going to use an iron or wood more than your driver. The back 9 is along the River, but the front 9 is, in everyone else's fairway. The course is beautiful, minus the sand traps on the green, and the obvious murk that will haunt your wayward balls. If you're looking for a good Groupon that will try your game, this is your spot. If you're looking for a challenging course but don't have the Groupon, spend your money elsewhere. To give you a reference, kids, and at a minimum 3 of them, were driving around the course while were attempting to hit on 3 holes. The greens, beautiful, but god bless you if you miss them. In a long shot, I'll certainly be back because of the difficulty and how close it is to the cities. But I'll never expect it to be 5/5 given the amount repairs that have have never been fixed, that there is a sand trap on a green.

Hard to believe that I'm the first to review a course that's been around for decades. Yes, the…read morelocation is a bit off the beaten path, but it's only 20 minutes northwest of the 394/494 interchange. This is a relatively flat course with the exception of the Par 3 third hole, where you have to dial-in the downhill tee shot to avoid going long into the marsh. There's a long water carry on the mid-length Par 3 13th, and a touchy 70-yard carry of a pond fronting the Par 5 15th. The other small ponds shouldn't be in play, unless you play like me where anything is possible on any given day. Stay out of the trees that line the longer holes and you can shoot a good score, although many of the moderately-fast greens are subtly contoured. I've played rounds here in the early spring (you think you can go through the trees, but don't try it; greens may be spray-painted!); summer (they do a good job keeping the course watered); and fall (they could do a better job of clearing out fallen leaves so you can find your ball in the first cut). During the week the pace of play has been pretty good. There's a nice snack bar adjacent to the small pro shop that offers grilled food and cold beer, among other items. The staff has proven very friendly and helpful. Carts are in good shape, and they offer the cool, quick "golf bikes" for singles. Large putting/chipping green next to the first tee, and another very contoured one on the other side of the first tee on your way to the range. Range balls weren't great the last time I practiced there. While there are a fair amount of golf courses you can choose to play in the western suburbs, Pheasant Acres Golf Club should be on your list to consider.

They host lots of events at this location so they are organized and well versed in keeping things going. The forward tees were around 5000 yds which is a good distance. Tee boxes were often a bit rough but fairways were nice and greens rolled true. No fluffy sand here so stay out of the traps. Water didn't play much of a role on any holes. Fairways were open and there were few blind shots. The event hosted a dinner which was good. Chicken was tasty and I liked the coleslaw. Typical post-golf-tourney fair was done well. I enjoyed my first experience on the course. Staff was awesome. Parking lot was huge. It was a great golf day.

It is the reason why we normally come back for Mother's Day brunch as well. This year however, we will not be coming back for Mother's Day because of the many changes made for Easter. While I understand costs have increased, the cost per head was still higher than many other places around and the selection and quality went significantly lower than years past. Here are the noticeable changes that disappointed my family, No fresh veggie trays (not everyone likes roasted veggies) Lack of cold seafood (shrimp, salmon) Lack of deserts (only cupcakes this year) Lack of salad choices- again only one Kid friendly dishes, this year even scrambled eggs had cooked fish in them Waffles had fruit - none that were just plain. Then for seating at 10, all food should be out and ready, yet many items were not out until 10:15-10:30. While the food was still delicious, the lack of choices from years past really hit us as "not special" any more. Nothing unique over other brunches.

Very high priced! And to me, was not worth this kind of money. It seemed very organized and it was smooth. We didn't wait very long to be seated. It felt spacious, but that could've been because we are the end of it. The desserts were very scarce at this time. Not being replenished either. I missed having mashed potatoes and gravy. No corn or beans. Prime rib was the best. A big yuck complaint of mine, yet tables were not wiped off after each guest!!! Very unsanitary and disgusting and gross!!! All they did was lay a cloth napkin over their table cloth . Yuck. It was gross. We had food crumbs leftover from the party of people before us. There was a long black beard type hair on the table! There was a spill. It had spots of grime. I just didn't want to even touch the table at all. I didn't want to set my plate on my napkin covering all this nasty from before me! Ish! It was very dirty. Even on a cloth tablecloth you have to wash it off. So, gross tables and the price was just too high. We will try somewhere else next year.

The course has been in good shape both times, with green fairways but some burnt out areas around tees and high-use areas. The greens are receptive and surprisingly quick, presenting enough contours that some pin positions are challenging to chip to. All in all, this is a fairly straightforward layout. There's a long Par 5 around a large lake that presents several risk-reward shots. The Par 3's can be pretty easy with a front pin, but the greens are large enough that a back pin calls for 1-3 more clubs. Staff are very friendly and accommodating, although I don't believe I ever saw a ranger on the course. The pro shop is pretty well stocked, and the snack bar offers a number of craft beers along with limited grilled menu items. This would be a great course to play a relaxing round of golf (if such a thing really exists!).

We also enjoy meat raffle Saturdays and have come in with friends for a few years now and always have a good time. Drinks are affordable and good and the menu is updated with new and fun dishes to spice things up a bit. Staff is amazing, they remember their regulars and welcome in new patrons alike. Our go to are the pizzas for the kids, waffle fry basket and chicken wings. Honestly, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. If you want a bit of fun, don't forget to get some Pulltabs or take kids over to bowl and play arcade games. Our sports teams have held many of our team get togethers here and kids always have a great time and they make it easy to order for a large group. If you are looking for a party space, they do rent the upstairs. I've been there for school fundraisers and ladies golf outing before. You can order food and drinks from staff upstairs during an event if an option. It also leads out to a gorgeous deck space and when it is sunny and beautiful outside, it's where I want to be! During the warmer months, they also have a very nice patio outside the bar/restaurant area and it's our go to after golfing or to meet up with friends for a happy hour. You will see plenty of families who come in as well and plenty of space for kids to roam and keep them busy.
