We like The Little Fox so much that we went twice during our week-long stay at Big Moose. We all enjoyed our food but especially loved the Grain Bowl. Such a great combination of textures and flavors and you feel like you are counteracting all the junk food you eat on vacation. The owner was super sweet to the 3-year old in our party and has a kids' area with coloring books and little toys to play with. I forgot to post this review right after we went but we stopped in last month while on vacation and our experience was great. We had trouble finding a restaurant with good reviews that could accommodate us short notice. After reading this places reviews we decided to try it out even though it was a little further away from where we were staying. We had a party of 8 and didn't have to wait to be seated despite it being pretty busy in there. Our server was super nice and patient with our somewhat chaotic family. They came over to apologize for the food taking a bit longer than usual, but honestly we didn't even notice or mind. The restaurant's atmosphere was so great. We had drinks, salads, and did trivia while we were waiting. Our incredibly picky four year old ordered the kids flat bread pizza and kids pasta and shockingly loved and actually ate both meals. All of our food was really good but the chicken and rice bowl I ordered was AMAZING! The grilled watermelon was also incredible. Despite being visibly very busy, a lady who I assume to be the owner/manager came over to check on us after our food arrived which is always a nice touch. Our server was attentive even though I'm sure she had a lot going on. Top notch customer service! We will definitely be back next year during our annual vacation to the Adirondacks. read more

We were excited to try The Little Fox while vacationing in the ADK! We walked in and had a seat at the bar for some pre-dinner cocktails. I appreciated the cocktail menu. I ordered a yummy cocktail that tasted like vanilla ice cream. My companions ordered other drinks. We were all pleased with the selection and enjoyed talking with the owner, Beth, who was very friendly and answered so many questions that we had about living and owning a business in ADK. The bar was comfortable, the dining room was very cute, and she allowed us to go upstairs to check out the rooms she has for rent. They were simple, yet clean, perfect for folks who just need a place to stay and a kind hostess. There were plenty of games to play in the bar area which were fun, including a ring toss game that I'd never seen before. For dinner we decided to stay seated at the bar. I ordered the special pizza which was fig, carmalized onions, and gorgonzola. It was good. My companion ordered a burger that she enjoyed with a side of sweet potato and bacon hash that was so good! Another companion ordered a quesadilla which he enjoyed, and the other an appetizer platter with onion rings, corn and cheese balls (yum!) and Buffalo chicken meatballs. There are a lot of places in the Old Forge/Inlet area to get a decent meal, but The Little Fox has most of them beat in terms of quality, service, and atmosphere. We have eaten here three times this year, and every meal has been outstanding. The burgers, lettuce wraps, fish tacos, and flatbread pizza of the day were all excellent. They also make their own ice cream....problem is that the dinners are so good it's hard to save room! It's always a good sign when the owner (Beth) can almost single handedly run the bar, wait tables, and still have time to greet repeat customers by name all with a smile. If you haven't given this place a try, you are missing out on a nice drive and a great dining experience that is truly an ADK gem. read more

Beth is the best! Her staff falls in the same category. I have dined throughout Old Forge area and since I have visited the Little Fox I see no need to drive any further. This quaint Adirondack restaurant with rooms above has everything an adventurer would need. A hot shower, a soft bed, and the food! The food is out of this world we started with the egg rolls and brussel sprouts were to die for and I am not the biggest fan of green things. We tried the burger and the chicken sandwich. Best burger hands down within the "blue line" and the chicken sandwich would make the national chicken sandwich chain shut their doors! This was one great weekend getaway and I highly recommend The Little Fox! read more

This place is great! We were stiffed by Big Moose Station up the road so returned here to catch lunch. The food was good...she hadn't planned to be open so we had limited selection. Good selection of beers. The owner was very pleasant. Worth the drive out Big Moose road. Don't bother going further to Big Moose Station. We dropped in on a whim a week ago for a mid-afternoon beer. Beth, the owner, greeted us immediately and provided samples of beer. The bar was very clean, without the rancid "old beer" smell that emanates from poorly cleaned bars. Beth was delightful and gave attention to everyone in the bar. We discussed her recent purchase of the bar and the new menu. We decided to stay for dinner & had the Tamarack sauce wings that use the local sauce, which were excellent. Spicy but not blindingly hot. Washed down with another beer and we were quite content. I absolutely plan to come back to sample more of her food and drink. She's a delight, committed to the community and to providing good food. 8 miles out of Inlet is an easy drive and absolutely worth it. Give it a try! read more

My boyfriend and I stopped into this wonderful gem while snowmobiling. The Little Fox is super cozy, a very friendly and welcoming place to visit. We were greeted immediately while hanging up our coats by a very friendly young lady. We sat at the bar for a quick bite and a few beers. Beth, the owner, also greeted us as soon as we sat down. The variety of beer was great for a beer lovers like us, not to mention they were nice and cold! The menu had a lot to choose from! We had the fried pickles that were to die for! So amazing- I could have had two more orders! We also had a flatbread pizza with feta, red peppers, spinach and arugula, which also was amazing! Everything was fresh, properly prepared and a great value for the price. My only regrets were that we didn't come here sooner & that I wish I was able to fit more food in my stomach during our visit! My wife and I went there for dinner on a Friday evening and everything was great. Great service and food in a cozy atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and efficient. Katie checked on us just the right amount and the cost was very reasonable. I had the fried haddock and my wife had the chicken. Both were great. The haddock was not deep fried and greasy, but lightly breaded and fried. We didn't save room for dessert this time, but will go back for the homemade cheesecake as we had dessert envy from the next table. The Little Fox will now be added to our rotation of favorite restaurants in the area. read more
