    Upstairs outdoor seating

This is a cozy, welcoming spot offering delicious coffee, pastries, brunch, and lunch. The menu is VERY vegan friendly, and (I think) entirely vegetarian. I love how accommodating the owner is with special orders. On one occasion, I ordered avocado toast but wanted both tofu scramble and coconut "bacon" as toppings, a combination not on the menu. Another time, the owner made a custom salad for me that wasn't on the menu. This business is taking COVID-19 very seriously. Masks are required by workers and customers. The door is left open for improved ventilation. There is outdoor seating upstairs, though you may have to ask for access if the gate leading to the stairs isn't open.

Good bagel and cream cheese, black coffee. Fast friendly service. Convenient parking. Decor reminiscent of Denver coffee places.

They were all so sweet and really went above and beyond to make sure it was a high-quality experience. I noticed that they openly advertise that they don't accept tips and have slightly higher prices in order to pay their workers a living wage, and the results were directly reflected in the customer service that I received. As for the food and drink (coffee), that was pretty good as well! While I do wish that they might have had bagels, the croissant that I substituted it for was warm, buttery, and tasty, and it was a nice change from my usual coffee shop meal, as I've only had a croissant a handful of times. The coffee was fine, and I loved how they offered free refills, which I've noticed that other local coffee shops usually don't. Finally, I loved the setting of the restaurant, which gave you the opportunity to either sit inside and enjoy the ambiance or on the outside patio and enjoy some peace and quiet. I also loved the artwork that they had on the walls, which the waitress informed me was painted by a local artist and which you could purchase if you wanted to. All-in-all, I loved smallSUGAR, will be back in the future, and would highly recommend stopping in!

Service was fine. Nothing particularly standout, but smooth and efficient. For drinks, the coffee was average. It wasn't bad by any means, just nothing memorable. Especially considering the price point. Food-wise, there were some highlights. The sweet potato bowl was well-dressed and flavorful, though it felt like it was missing a protein component to make it more complete. The shakshuka was very good overall, with great flavor, though it leaned a bit salty. The biggest issue was the bread portion. It simply wasn't enough for the dish. I ended up ordering an extra side, and while it's listed as two slices, it's really just one slice cut in half. At $4 for that portion, that is very unreasonable. That was a recurring theme. Pricing felt high across the board for what you receive. While the flavors were there, nothing really stood out as exceptional enough to justify the cost. Overall, not a bad visit. Just one where the value didn't quite match the experience.

My husband decided we should test it out today, so we ended up grabbing the food as we had a couple plans for today. My husband ordered the Reuben Sandwich. It came with Truffle Parmesan Fries. He stated the taste was very flavorful, the meat was tender, and he fell in love with the truffle fries. They didn't stand a chance! Now here comes the funny part:) I told him I wanted the Black Bean Burger without the lettuce and tomato, but instead he ordered me just the patty with cheese and mayo with no buns! Instead of him asking the correct way, he asked for it as just the patty only, haha I was too tickled to be mad. Even though he missed it, it was so good! That was the best black bean patty I had in a long time. It was well-prepared and delicious. Yes, I also have the Truffle Parmesan Fries and they tasted amazing. Hot, seasoned to perfection and irresistible! Once I saw the salmon, I had to try it. Omg, that salmon was prepared perfectly, juicy and mouth-watering. The food was on point I must say. Hubby stated customer service was amazing as well. The restaurant was well lit, had a great atmosphere and overall a great spot to dine with your friends. We will definitely be heading back soon to dine in and try more food:)

I love shopping here due…read moreto the fact that the vast majority of items are locally and freshly made, making it easier to support state farmers and local businesses, and ensuring that your produce wasn't sitting in the back of a truck for weeks before you buy it. They also have a lot of niche items that you can't find at your big-box stores, making it great for specialty-product lovers (in my case, coffee!) like myself! My only gripe, and the reason for four (4) instead of five (5) stars, is that it's VERY expensive. Let me reiterate that I like to support local businesses, and I completely understand that items are not going to be quite as cheap as the major grocery chains; but, some of the products are so expensive that I can't justify spending that much money on them. As such, I can only go to Rosewood Market to buy an item or two, and can't shop there as much as I'd like to. Anyhow, I do love Rosewood Market, and would encourage everyone to at least stop in!

It's such a cute shop located in downtown Columbia. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. They have so many alternative food options and herbs to choose from. There was a wall of some of the best herbs out there and their vitamin/supplements section had so many different and rare options that you don't normally see in stores. They also sell local items which is always nice to see and a preference for me when shopping. There is also a hot food section with some really delicious options. Perfect for a quick lunch break. I tried the vegan meatballs which were made with pea protein and were so delicious. They had the perfect meatball texture, seasoned really well, and the sauce that came on it was so good. You also get 3 sides and a house-made sauce, so I choose spaghetti squash, potatoes, and broccoli with the spicy mayo sriracha as my sauce. All the sides had really light flavors in terms of seasoning, but were all still really good. The sauce was also really good. They really fill your plates up so you definitely get more bang for your buck. They provide an outside seating area as well as utensils so you can eat and enjoy your food. Don't skip the desserts by the deli, there were so delicious options that provided gluten free and some vegan treats. I also saw that they offer free yoga every Sunday at 2pm and Wednesdays at 6pm! I will definitely be by for yoga and back to shop more and try more of the deli meals!

I landed at the Columbia airport and hopped in the rental to go check this place out before I made my way to my mom's place about 45 min away. I didnt know this was still a carryout or delivery spot until I got there- they have some patio seating but the chairs inside are all stacked to the side. The gentleman at the counter was super polite and mentioned he would he happy to help if I had any questions. Today's menu included bbq popcorn chkn, so I got the plate with that and 4 sides- collard greens, double mac and kidney beans. I was told there were large orders ahead of me and there would be a 30 min wait. Not an issue if you read below- and now I was extra curious! I sat in the car and was texted barely 20 min later that my order was ready. Here we go... I made it about 10 min into my drive before I found a place to just pull over and eat because the aroma of the (what felt like) 5 lb plate was taking over the car! My mouth waters as I write this a day later. This was proper vegan soul food, heck this was proper soul food. Collards were tangy, sweet. salty and melted when you got a forkful. Mac was creamy (i dont care if they were shells, they are just a vessel for flavor), and the kidney beans were spiced just right and the perfect compliment. Chkn was still crispy and tossed just enough in sauce not drowning in it. I got through half the plate (and I have an appetite) before I was plain stuffed. Good thing too because I remembered I was sharing this with my mom when I got home. Euphoria quickly turned into gluttony-remorse but not a bad remorse at all. This food was bangin, slapped, all that, fire, toothsome, bussin' - I would have slapped my momma but I have too much respect (and fear). On a related note, am I the only one that is classically conditioned to salivate when I hold a warm, heavy styrofoam container without even knowing whats inside? You know, when you first hear that styro-squeak as you open the lid, get that first whiff of deliciousness and your eyes first go to the condensation on the inside of the lid as you slowly pan hollywood style to the food in the plate, complete with theatrical glorious music playing? No? Guess its just me. Back to it. If there was even room in the container- all it needed was a slice or two of plain white bread, nothing fancy, sunbeam style is perfect. Summary: RUN here. Don't sweat the prices, portions are huge. Always support local-esp when the product is straight sorcery. Warning: If you are prone to back problems, you may want help lifting the plates. To the owners if you are reading: Please open up in NJ and Thank you!
