Oh what a wonderful place this is! It's a true gem in JP and the whole city of Boston, really. The…read moreselection is terrific- for a small footprint they're packed with toys for infants through adults, from bath toys to books to art and science kits, Lego, puzzles, games, dress-ups, sports activities, just allllllll the things. The front displays are so well done and the space is really inviting. There's a bathroom with changing table that is family friendly and means if you're in JP with kids you have a place to "stop and go right away" (a little Daniel Tiger reference for the parents). They gift wrap and sell balloons, so it is THE spot for birthdays and holidays. If you become a member, you get sweet discounts, and the 5th Sunday of the month also has special bonuses. Best of all, there's a sign in the window with 2 different names on it every day, and if one of those names is yours, big prize! Even if we aren't planning a trip to Boing, it's always a treat to check the names. The people who work at this store are friendly and really knowledgeable. You go in and say "I need to get a 7yo girl a $15 gift and she's into horses" and you've got 3 options off the bat. I've never had a gift from Boing go wrong, but even if it did, they do gift receipts! After Halloween, you can also donate candy and get credit to use in the store- perfect for kids who are allergic to half their candy and otherwise feel pretty glum with their trick or treat haul. Definitely worth a visit to shop or browse, there's something fun for everyone!

I informed her I could come anytime for another fitting if needed. She said no that wouldnt be necessary. I was told I would be called when my clothing was ready for pickup on a Monday after hours because she was very busy and would be working late. However, I was never notified when my clothing was ready. When I called the night before the event(Monday), she was very rude. It took me 10-15 minutes to get to the shop and pick up my clothing. Within 5 minutes of leaving my house she left an untasteful message and threatened to leave if I didn't get there soon. When I arrived she sat in her car on her phone refusing to acknowledge me. She finally stepped out and then became agitated that I wouldn't try on the jacket(in part because of her attitude and because the event was hours away and nothing could be done at this point.) She told me the clothing was ready 3 days ago (Saturday) but she was too busy to call me, but insisted regardless of her attitude I should've been grateful. It's sad that poor customer service ruined this experience and I will be sure to let people know not to do business here.

I did a multi hour private class for which I paid a premium, I felt OK about it and good about my decision afterwards. I planned on returning to continue with the same teacher, however when I called to arrange, I was told that the teacher had been dismissed. The lady I spoke with explained that the dismissal was not for ability or quality of teaching, that the studio ensured the quality of teaching always met the studios high standards. When pushed however I was told that the dismissal came as a surprise to other staff members, but was also not a surprise as the studio owner requires 'yes' teachers to all requests, and that he is VERY commercially minded. This teacher was clearly NOT a yes person, just very competent and a thoroughly nice person! What also surprised me was the extent to which she supported the studio, despite what seems to have been one way from the owner! So a very disappointing conclusion, maybe I will be able to arrange private classes with her, but for anyone considering the studio for classes - buyer beware and don't believe the very believable owner who will say anything to get the business and revenue. It's a shame he behaves in this way, but I strongly believe it can only be the start of the end for the studio
