It had been awhile since we were last here but yesterday we decided to go back as my daughter was craving their haddock. Our server was good and very friendly. It wasn't her but the food that was the problem. My daughter ordered haddock and I ordered ribs. The ribs were very weird. They were dry but kind of mushy and had a very different flavor. They looked much better than they tasted. I asked for extra bbq sauce to try to drown them a bit but it didn't help much. The fries and green beans were very good. My daughter said the haddock was not good either. To wet and had a odd texture on the thicker part. So disappointed as it was over 60 dollars for the two dinners and a couple sodas. Will probably never go back which is sad as it's a lovely spot with a beautiful view and used to be really good seafood.

    Burger and Fries

I got the Baconator Burger and fries and the chicken sandwich with an arnold palmer. The burger was awful, tasteless and had way too much bacon and the bacon was burnt to a crisp. The fries were soggy and the chicken sandwich was sub-par. The arnold palmer was way too sweet they put about twice the amount of lemonade that should've gone in. I do NOT recommend!

Small twist, regular cone and the only way top it

This review is strictly for the soft serve twist at Jolly Molly's Ice Cream - which is part of Bubba's. I'm not sure what is in their soft serve, but it is maybe some of the creamiest ice cream I have ever had. We hopped here after housing a quick lobster roll at Anchorage, and I ordered a small twist in a regular cone with chocolate sprinkles. I never order twists, but I really should. The small was 'UGE. My friends that I was with joked that no matter what, even if you ask for a teenie tiny scoop - you know just enough to have an equal ratio of cone to cream - they always serve you a monster twist. I think in the future I would skip dinner and just do this. It was so much that I had to knock some ice cream off to get to the cone. They did provide an A+ amount of sprinkles and it did make my night - even if I did feel extremely full after. BUT KNOW a small will likely meet all your needs.

We love their desserts and side salad -- we brought home orzo salad, cous cous, and quinoa - great flavors and perfectly prepared. Do not leave without trying the chocolate cake or the fruit crisps. On top of that, the staff and people there are amazing. They are kind, efficient and resourceful. On my last visit, I was stranded without my keys (don't ask - a real bonehead move involving a car that needs a key nearby in order to start but will run anywhere once it is started) and they found a way to get me to my friend's house and back so I could start my car. I love this place, the food, and the people.

We went on a Saturday night and called ahead to make a reservation, but the employee on the phone said it was a slow night... but it was so busy! I can't imagine what a busy night looks like. The parking lot (one of them, at least) was mostly full and people were parking on the street. Slow night! There's a to-go market when you walk in that you can order desserts or meats from as well as some other goods, which is so cute. It's nice and clean inside, and the atmosphere is almost upscale, but there's still a down to earth vibe in the place. I had the cheese curds with marinara as an appetizer, which were wonderful. My chicken pesto caprese on ciabatta was good but it did taste like something was missing- but I couldn't tell you what. But the sweet potato fries were great! My boyfriend really liked his barbecue pork sandwich too. It may seem like it's the only restaurant in Andover, but at least it's a good one. Check it out!

Food is invariably excellent and the staff is well trained and very helpful. As usual, we went in and were seated immediately. I had their Gorgonzola salad with salmon on top and washed it down with their Rags to Riches IPA. Our entire party was quite pleased with the evening. Our only lack of satisfaction was in the lack of the giant pretzels they used to have. No more. Instead, they have locally made ale pretzels which although healthier, are almost impassable with a hard texture that is unpretzel-like. I encourage the Flying Goose to bring back their old-style pretzels or redo the ale pretzel recipe from scratch. Great evening.

We weren't especially hungry, so my husband ordered a cup of the seafood chowder, which was hearty and flavorful, and he loved it. I ordered a half Cobb salad, which was still very generously sized and full of chicken, vegetables, and fresh cut lettuce, not the sad bagged kind. Unfortunately, the service was a very different story. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by frowning faces that made us feel less like paying customers and more like people who had wandered into someone's kitchen uninvited. After being seated, we sat for about 15 minutes without anyone acknowledging us. When our waitress finally came over, she also seemed unhappy to be there and gave us a halfhearted greeting. When I politely asked how she was, she replied, "This night is almost over." Not exactly the warm welcome you hope for when you're out spending money on dinner. Throughout the meal, she made several comments about the night being almost over and reminded us that we needed to order anything else we wanted before the kitchen closed. It was 8:30 on a Friday night, so this felt more like we were being rushed out than served. The final bill for two gin and tonics, one martini, the clam strip appetizer, a cup of chowder, and a half salad came to about $100 including tip, plus a ridiculous $3 charge for using a credit card. The food was good, but at those prices, the service needs to be much better. Good clam strips can only do so much heavy lifting. We may come back, but next time we'll probably sit at the bar, where it's harder to be ignored and where the bartender has always been friendly. My suggestion to management would be simple: the kitchen is doing its job, but the front of house needs to make guests feel welcome, not like they're an inconvenience.
