I would not recommend this storage facility. The only positive part of our experience was Louis, who was very helpful and went out of his way to assist us. After a family member passed away, I brought the certified death certificate, Will, and Trust documents as the Trustee and sole beneficiary. However, the manager incorrectly insisted that I also needed Power of Attorney, which is no longer valid after a person's death. We were eventually allowed access only because I already had the entry code. Once inside the unit, we found rat droppings throughout the space, along with visible rat traps in the hallways. Despite the unit being indoors on the second floor with air conditioning, there was clearly a serious pest problem. Roaches were climbing the walls, and when we got home, we discovered rat urine had soaked into several plastic bins. The condition of the facility was unacceptable. read more

1 star be use they raise your rent every other month 6 months my rate was $60 for the smallest unit and its already increased to $100/month. This is for a 5x5 unit. Looking for places that don't price gauge On the good staff is great and always helpful, property is clean. I moved units once because of water leaking from the roof and got a better rate at $60 from the $129 I was paying, but they quickly raised it back at $100 after just 6 montha - $60 to $100. Front office guys are amazing! Decent facilities. Unloading process could become a challenge for a business due to only three parking bays. Getting in and out for 2nd floor units is a bit cumbersome due to two locked doors requiring security code access, but those are there for a reason! The other part I love is there is light in my unit, which is not a normal storage unit feature. read more

Update on review! I originally gave 5 stars for Kerri. I rented a 5 × 10 storage for 111.00 dollars. I moved my items in less than two weeks. The storage facility was very hot with mosquitoes and gnats. I was told by Kerri that I would likely be able to receive some of my money back. Moving out of storage she was not friendly, short, agitated and fake. She handed me back a lock that I can't use again. Stating that it's yours, you bought it! No mention of money back! read more

The staff here makes you feel like your storage is home. This isn't some mass commercial we will steal your stuff if you accidentally lose your credit card and forget this was on auto pay. They will email and call like hey did you know not we sent you a letter and now we auctioned off your stuff! There is no better place to store your things in St pete! Clean and easy too! read more

Half the time the access points are broken or non functioning. This includes the overhead doors for secure drive in access, the elevators, the overhead lights, and the carts. Staff is friendly but corporate is slow to fix or repair items. It's dirty, smelly and darkly lit with some lights not functioning. It's also expensive with automatic rate increases every six months. read more

This firm is engaging in price gauging, and in a pandemic too. "What is considered price gouging: Price increases that are "grossly in excess of the price prior to the declaration" When price gouging laws apply: During a state of emergency." I have been a customer of theirs for over four years and as I'm sure many of their customers in Florida are, I do not live near the facility. I am currently being charged $145.00 for a unit they are advertising for $88.00. and am being told I can come move my stuff to another unit of the same size to get the $88.00 price. This is PRICE GAUGING, it is certainly immoral and probably illegal too! I'm happy with the Self-Service, I do it and they provide good facilities but really the price differential is extreme! Now, try to get in touch with anyone of import, a legal department........ I'm not done. 2/7/21 Reviews clearly work! I had a very pleasant conversation with the territory manager today. I didn't back off my position and he explained theirs. We were able to reach an accomodation. I did have a pleasant experience in the end. read more

I don't know what is up with Yelp, but Maxine T's review is straight on (see part of it below), yet Yelp has classified it as "not recommended". What use is Yelp if true reviews are "not recommended" due to some mysterious algorithm ? I, too, had evidence of RATS in my unit -- gnawed through cardboard boxes. My moving helpers told me they had just moved another person out of an unit and their wood furniture had been chewed on. Management said it was under control; however rat poison packets and traps are everywhere, as is the smell of dead rats. There was an overpowering stench in building from the above. Unfortunately the UHaul storage down the street is just as bad -- I've rented many storage units in many cities -- this is the worse ever. This facility is very clean, air-conditioned, and -- the best part -- has garage bays where you just drive your car in so you're under cover from the elements and are safe and secure while unloading. The staff is very accommodating and gets high marks for outstanding customer service. Security is in place with cameras and access codes. I highly recommend them. read more

I love everything about the St Pete Lock-up. The Manager, Chris, was awesome, showing me different sized units, explaining security and quickly completing the agreement. His customer service was excellent - professional, friendly and beyond expectations. The facility units are competitively priced, and front office, elevator, restrooms are all kept up and clean. I moved from another newer facility a couple miles away and the Lock-up surpasses it in leaps. Also liked that I can drive my car into the bay and unload. We've had our stuff in one of their units for just a few months and not only did we suffer damage to our stuff from a leak in their roof which allowed water into our unit but we received a letter telling us they were increasing our rent $11 per month. When I stopped by the office to ask if they would keep our existing rent at the same rate, they refused to keep it at the same rate even though I told them I would have to leave the facility. This is obviously a business that only cares about profits and not about the facility or the people who rent storage from them. I'll be moving my stuff into another facility at the end of the week - before they have a chance to raise the rent on me. read more

The garage bays are enclosed and there are plenty of carts for moving things from your car to storage. This place has gone to pieces. When we first moved to the area we rented two large storage units. We carefully selected this facility because it was new, clean and clearly well kept. All our mattresses and box springs (all properly stored in shipping boxes) are ruined. Wool rugs bedding is covered in dirt and who know what else. Nothing in our unit has caused this. My husband and I have had storage units all over the world. You could say we are storage pro's. No such problems to date. To ad insult to injury we had taken out the offered insurance coverage on the storage, but we were told today that the insurance did not cover pest or insect infestations!! what the heck does it cover? ... basically we are relying on their good business ethics to help us. My faith is failing and we look to b4 on our own with this loss of about $6000. Oh .. and the property manager who witnessed the mess and destruction said they have been having problems with rats and the last exterminator was not doing their job properly so they got a new one. So why were we not told there could be a problem? Ok for a storage facility. I will say that it is safe and secured. However, my major problem is that they just randomly increase the price of the units with no warning! Our until went from around $52 one month to $76 the next. I had to call several times and leave messages for the manager before he would actually call me back. When he did call me back, he said the price increased and nothing could be done. He offered us a smaller unit, but obviously that was not helpful. We will be moving our stuff out of there as soon as we can. It's just too expensive to store our junk. read more

This place is covered in rats!! I have found rat or mice droppings on all my Christmas items and other things in storage. Talked to a few customers who have lost thousands of dollars of property there. Management is no help. Rather store my things In a cheap facility. They claim quality but won't tell about all the property they allow to be ruined. read more
