I love a company offsite and this one was for the books! I was lucky enough to stay at the Inn at Spanish Bay for work and even more lucky to dine at The Lodge at Pebble Beach for our team dinner. Arrived around 6:30pm and was greeted by the kind staff, everyone was so kind. To start we had a mini reception in the library room with a beautiful view of the ocean. So lovely. We all went crazy for the mini beef wellington's and I personally went nuts for the hamachi appetizer. For dinner we had lots of yummy thing, but i loved their romaine lettuce salad and fish. so good! Lovely little team dinner at The lodge! Hopefully I get the chance to go back. read more

The Lodge has the best view for the most perfect brunch in Pebble Beach! It's hard to have it all, but The Lodge has great food, service, and views! There were absolutely no complaints from my end. We had a reservation for 11:30 on a Sunday and it was not super busy on the outside patio. We were warmly greeted and our server was excellent! He made us feel very welcomed and was sure to tell us that he could make us any drink possible! We ordered the butter lettuce salad with chicken and the mushroom ragu rollatini. The salad was refreshing and I loved the light and herby dressing it came with. The chicken is a definite must! The mushroom ragu rollatini was the star of the show and I did not miss the meat at all! I love Don Angie's rollatini lasagna in NYC, and this one had me just as mesmerized. Vina Valadez, the Front Office Manager went over and above board in relocating him, despite the fact that 4 different buildings had no power. She was able to get him a lovely room at Casa Palmero, same price and amenities and arranged for assistance for him with his repacking and the move. I attended their Christmas brunch buffet. it was the worst buffet I have ever been to in years. I was accompanied by two great friends. I didn't want to make a scene or tell m6 guest that my real opinion about their service and especially about their culinary selections. the first bad impression, was the broccolini was way under cooked and s stringy, that my knife wouldn't even cut through any part of it. then the rainbow potatoes were tasteless and dry. the next dish was the wild rice dish, very under and under seasoned. I next had the roasted leg of lamb. the carving chef gave me a piece of gristle that came off of the joint of the upper shank and the hip bone, and he didn't even offer to slice it thinner, he just gave me a chunk of meat that was gristley and the toughest and most tasteless leg of lamb I've ever had. the waiter didn't even offer a steak knife for me to slice my lamb.then I went over to the filet mignon roast. what a very disappointment roast that was. it was so overdone and dry, even their horseradish sauce didn't help it at all. then I went over to their highly advertised seafood bar. I had three fresh oysters with their vinaigrette sauce and tobacco, it was ok, but very warm and not chilled enough at all. the artichoke and lobster salad was very disappointing, out of that whole salad display I could see only three tiny pieces of lobster and five pieces of artichokes. I have no idea who's idea it was to serve egg salad with caviar. terrible combination. now on to the fresh baked beads and fruit display. the rolls were cold and tough, the fruit display was very sad. who serves fresh papayas with their shells on it if you're paying $212.00 for a high end meal. and the kiwis were sliced two days ahead of time and were mushy, stuck together and terrible. I just took one look at the pasta station, and just walked away from it. not very appetizing at all. the biggest disappointment was when they advertised king crab legs, and not one piece was in sight! that was the main reason I went there. FOR SPENDING OVER $200.00 AT THE LODGE IN PEBBLE BEACH, I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND OR RETURN THERE AGAIN! for the past 20 years me and my brother have been coming to the lodge. Every year the same time July 5. We always book about a year in advance bexause we like the rooms on the first tee box so we don't have to walk around too much. when we get here the rooms are completely different. A lot of walking. Carpets look like trash. And these rooms are $2200/night. It used to be that if you stayed one night at the lodge you got one round of golf at pebble beach. Now you have to stay 2 nights to get one round. It's a joke. Everything is over priced, over crowdef and undervalue. If you've never been to pebble beach... take it from someone that's been here for 20 years.... It's no longer worth it. And caddies are getting shafted as well. And they are telling us their stories... which you fwel bad for them. It's like Chinese labor camps. So you end up tipping them. There are many nice places out there. Pebble Beach is one of the last highlighted stops along the wonderful 17-Mile Drive Tour. If you enter "The Drive" at the Pacific Grove Gate and work your way around the beautiful coastline in a counterclockwise direction, you will eventually arrive here at Pebble Beach and this acclaimed Lodge overlooking the world famous 18th green. I recommend taking some time to exit your car and walk around the Lodge area which includes: shops and restaurants, access to the golf links and even a pathway to the sandy beach shores. The Lodge is sort of the centerpiece/focal point to Pebble Beach. Although I was just taking the 17-Mile Drive Tour for the day and not actually staying here as a guest, still...it was very nice to get some exposure to the game of golf. And, for those who may not know...this Pebble Beach golf region has a reputation for being host to one of the most scenic 18-hole courses in the world! Just that fact alone should motivate people to come visit and see what this place is all about. When I first arrived, I actually parked my car and walked inside the Pebble Beach Visitor Center which was great for purchasing a few golf souvenirs with the iconic PB Lone Cypress Tree stamped on most of the merchandise. Btw, you can view the Lone Cypress Tree hovering at the edge of the cliffside right nearby here along the 17-Mile Drive. Also at the VC, you can read about some of the terrific moments from Pebble Beach that will be etched in stone forever. But, I will write a separate review for the Visitor Center at a future time. I did leave my car at the Visitor Center parking lot and strolled over here to The Lodge, which was a casual walk of 400 feet and then started exploring. In the back section of The Lodge features a wonderful putting green to get some practice in before heading out onto the venerable course. Yes, so, I believe the Pebble Beach links are open for public use when they aren't hosting tournaments. A bunch of the lodge hotel rooms overlooked this putting green. To sum up the surroundings, it was just a surreal setting to even be walking around. Although I rarely golf, I felt like I was standing in quite a prestigious setting. The grounds were flawlessly groomed and in immaculate condition. Then, as just a visitor, I was allowed free access inside The Lodge. The lobby area had an old fashioned, throwback in time type of feel like only VIP's are allowed access to. It resembled an old Wall Street type of club where elite members get together. So, for me to be able to simply browse inside and out was exciting. Just past the lobby you can peer straight out onto the terrace area. Here, guests and golfers who had completed their outings were sitting, dining and admiring the postcard-like setting viewing the illustrious 18th hole putting green. Every table was occupied. It felt like I was standing among golfing royalty. I'm more of a tennis player so to relate this Lodge to a sport I'm familiar with, I was reminded of being at the grass lawns of Wimbledon. Walking down the hallways featured plenty of past trophy winners and awards highlighting champions of golf who've participated at Pebble Beach tournaments. There were pictures describing memorable endings. In some instances, golfers can have career defining moments transforming themselves from tournament hopefuls, to winning it all in one weekend and departing as legends of the game. Finally, just having the opportunity to get a firsthand glimpse into what makes Pebble Beach so well known as a mecca for professional golf was satisfying. Plus, with successfully completing the 17-Mile Drive Tour earlier in the day by taking in the sights of California's renowned coastline, ending things here at The Lodge was an amazing way to experience why Pebble Beach will forever be known as a world class golfing destination. read more

TLDR: Beautiful hotel and rooms, beautiful views from the main building, and beautiful facilities. A truly luxurious experience with some of the friendliest employees out there. HOTEL: My room was not in the main building but actually in a room to the side of the property. Though I didn't get an ocean view, I still had a lovely back patio overlooking a garden-type view with sounds of the water, which I still enjoyed. The room was incredibly spacious and clean (though I will note one anomaly, which was that there was a dead cockroach in one of the glass cups in the bathroom...). There were also daily complimentary snacks and waters (and some other necessities in the room like tubes of sunscreen that you could buy). The bathroom was open to the rest of the room meaning the only door was to the toilet on the side of it. That meant the shower was exposed to anyone in the room, which was fine for me but wanted to note in case this is an issue for others. HOTEL SERVICE: The hotel has individuals who are happy to drive you around the property on golf carts to get to your next destination since things can be so far apart. For example, the workout facility and driving range are quite far from the lobby so it's almost necessary for someone to cart you there unless you want to drive there in your own car yourself. Everyone I spoke to on these carts was so kind and funny and high energy, so it was always fun. There's also a pretty frequent and convenient shuttle to take you to courses, driving ranges, and other lodging. DINING: Lots of great dining options on the property including Stillwater for seafood and the Tap room for casual drinks or bar food. Bars are closed relatively early here except for the Tap Room, though still earlier then most bars in a city. FACILITIES: Breathtaking views while working out at the gym, though it's quite far from the main buildings. I was lucky enough to stay at Eastwood Cottage (a double queen room and a King room). It's a bummer that certain rooms have tubs and other ones don't. Unfortunately over COVID it seems they had to scale back and are no longer providing their spa shampoos/lotions. This was particularly disappointing for me! There are some awesome features in the room - such as "all off" for the lights, and the fireplace that make your stay especially cozy. Even for those who are not looking to play golf, this is an amazing resort to relax and take in spectacular views and service. **Must go to the lobby at golden hour, it's a real treat! read more

After waiting 15 minutes, I flagged down a busboy to bring us menus but he seemed annoyed and reluctant to do anything else for us. Our server was a young gal, who was busy chatting up a Spanish speaking family, before acknowledging us. Another ten minutes ensued and my flustered GF decided to walk out. What happened to Country Club level service? I'm appalled at the lack of professionalism in our server, who seemed to be completely overwhelmed by a 5-table patio station. BEWARE! I am so disappointed--a bucket list of a course, that definitely lived up to its hype, but has put me through the ringer now with incorrect charges. My wife got me the combo Pebble, Spyglass, Spanish golf package, in which she prepaid. Upon arrival of each course, they mentioned it would be charged again to my room, and credited. Upon leaving, I went to the front desk to ensure this would happen, and they said it would take a few days to process. I swiped my card for my $3,800 balance, and called it a day. 6 weeks later, and several calls to their "accounting department," and nobody has called my wife or I back yet. Additionally there is another $3,000 charged to my card, and $4,000 charged to my card. My wife's card was all charged almost $3,000 for the golf package she purchased with Michael from concierge, who has gone MIA. Oh, I went with a buddy and he was chargers over $4800 as well. About $18,000 in charged for 3 nights, and 3 rounds of golf doesn't seem quite right, and the fact they will not respond to me is alarming. I'm very close to having my counsel deal with this, as this is blatant negligence on their end to help resolve this. I hope nobody else has their experience ruined by this resort, it's truly a shame. read more

I have and will always love this place. It's also a must stop for me whenever I'm in Carmel or Monterrey. It's actually been a good while since I have last visited. Each time it's always with a new guest so they can enjoy it with me. But this time, it was quite different. We sat outside as it's covid so no indoor dining. Still it was nice to be able to enjoy the 18 hole right in-front of you as well as the beautiful ocean. Downfall, there was construction going on so you could hear all the banging and sawing going on. Beside that, it was still beautiful. Just like everywhere else, you can't just come for drinks. Meals has to be ordered with a drink. So we just shared an appetizer as we just had brunch about half an hour before. Can I just say, I highly recommend the steamed mussels with chorizo. Wow, out of this world. Mix with cherry tomatoes and slices of radishes served with bread for dipping. Amazing...... Two glass of wine to go with it as well as the amazing view. Afterward, we took a walk down to the lawn just to walk around. This place will and always have a place in my heart. It just keeps getting more and more special. The staff are top notch. this "hotel", which both is and isn't is of that rare breed of lodging that makes one feel at home. literally. if you have ever had the occasion and opportunity to be a guest in a better home, The Lodge at Pebble Beach will remind you of that kind of experience. every interaction with staff gave one the feeling they were being attended to by an old family equerry. there was nothing corporate about the experience. at no time did i feel i was being subjected to some "standard operating procedure" or employee's manual. the rooms, even the modest ones, are palatial, for what they are. high ceiling and sprawling floorspace make for an en-suite guestroom in a mansion, sort of vibe. room service. the food arrived hot, even though the kitchen was a few hundred yards away and it was raining, cold and windy. the concierge. a more affable exchange can not be had. the bar. i asked that the bartender prepare an obnoxiously off-the-menu cocktail and he did it, without thinking about it. without hesitation. and not with any complaining or exasperated vibe, either. the people at the front desk kind of put you in the mind of a fuzzy episode of the TV Series "Hotel" in the way they tendered the keenest and intentional care to every word that comes from your mouth. at every turn i was confronted with nicety, service, and warmth. i'll be back. thank you, Lodge! read more

We splurged and got the room for $2000 per night. We are getting old and had to make a run at it. We had a caddie named Matty who absolutely made the round for us. He was smart and knew exactly what he was doing. He also made me feel like a princess -- always a plus. The food is great at all the restaurants, but we found ourselves at the tap room most nights. It is very authentic and seems perfectly restored from the old days. The shops were a total burn. The quality of the clothing was very, very poor and the prices were high! I have lots of golf clothes and know what I like and I didn't buy one thing! I couldn't! No value at all. Plus, everything was beige or light blue. Bleh! The tour busses streaming into the shop area were probably filled with paying customers. I'm sure they snapped up the expensive yet cheap clothes. We loved Pebble Beach and the whole experience was terrific. I don't need any more clothes. have fun! read more

We, like many others, stayed at The Lodge at Pebble Beach as part of our Pebble Beach golf experience. We stayed a night at The Lodge and played golf at both Pebble Beach and Spyglass Hill on consecutive days. The accommodations were great. This is definitely a five-star resort with outstanding service and amenities. We stayed in one of the Garden Spa rooms which was very memorable. Some unique features and characteristics included vaulted ceilings with wooden beams, a working stone fireplace, and an in-ground hot tub outside on the enclosed patio. I haven't stayed in any other hotel/resort guest room that has had all that. The room was clean with high-quality, contemporary furnishings and decor. The bathroom was super spacious with a glass shower, separate tub, and twin sinks. The only downside was the view -- there was none. Since the patio was enclosed, we couldn't see past the walls, so that made us feel closed-in and a bit claustrophobic. However, I will say that the patio had nice landscaping and the unit as a whole was more than adequate in pretty much all aspects, aesthetically and functionally-speaking. Admittedly, we wouldn't have stayed here if it wasn't for the lodging requirement to play Pebble. It's expensive, but worth it if you're a golf nut and want to mark Pebble off your bucket list. The resort property is in pristine condition and the golf shop and other memorabilia is fun to look at. We picked up some apparel and souvenirs at the store and also got a great family photo on one of the terraces in front of the practice putting green. My dad and I also got a picture in front of the Crosby Wall behind the first tee. As of 2019 (100th anniversary of the golf course), the Crosby Wall was replaced with a more built-out Wall of Champions. The bust of founder Samuel FB Morse remains. Whether you're a guest of the resort, a golfer, or not, this place is worth checking out. It's beautiful. read more

First: It was a great time staying there, very accommodating with the four golf courses not being to far from there. You really don't have to leave the place. It has everything you need there. Restaurants, market, bars, and retail stores. We stayed there for five days, and it was easy and very enjoyable. However, Not a big fan on how they take advantage of the situation and over charge everything. $1,000 a night for a room, that is very comfortable but I have stayed at better rooms for a lot less money. The restaurants have great good and drinks, not going to lie. We had a great time, and really enjoyed our evenings for dinner. Again, prices are very expensive. Again, I have had better food for a lot less money. What I'm trying to say, I still had a great time. This is something I will never forget. I know they are targeting people who has no problem spending that kind of money. Some of us, this is a life long dream to come golf at Pebble Beach. Since it is so expensive to play and stay here, we may never be able to come back. Just wished they would have a package deal that would be more affordable. read more

So this is how the 1%-ers live! I say, depressing! As just a roaming visitor to this property (not a hotel guest), I found it breathtaking, outstanding, invigorating, and 47 other adjectives. Mostly, it was motivating to get out there and do something BIG to bring in the mucho dinero. Fun facts: ======== * One of the world's premiere golf resorts. You can watch close-up golfers doing their thing. I like the digital scoreboards at every hole. (I love data!) * It's right on the water with cliffs, trees, and all the good stuff. Amazing views. * Hotel has everything golf shops. One for kids, one for men, and one for women. Pricey, but who cares. (future: one for transexuals, pets?) * Rooms start at $800/night (plus $110 in taxes!), but if you got money to burn, go for the Ocean view rooms at $3,000+/night. I hear they're luxurious, with jacuzzi's and all. * Several restaurants on-property, and each seems very nice and fair priced for each. A-Holes: ======= * There's actual houses on property. When I say "houses", I mean, "mansions". Many of which are vacant 50 weeks/year. (Yes, and if you are reading this, that's you I'm talking about, unknown real estate attorney that lives in San Francisco.) You can only access the Lodge at Pebble Beach after paying the $10 entrance fee to drive along the 17-mile drive. Once you get to the Lodge, you can park for FREE in the visitor parking lot (although spaces are limited). After you park, just walk on over to the Lodge and straight onto the terrace area once you see the lobby. You'll find a grand view of the 18th hole right in front of you, with the ocean/coast in the backdrop. The views are magnificent and you can actually walk down the stairs from the terrace, and onto the lawn. Just keep walking across the lawn to the 18th hole and see golfers play or just stare in awe at the wonderful view of Pebble Beach Resort. This resort also offers coastal beach access (for free) to Stillwater Cove. There's limited parking in the area in case you were interested in stopping by. read more
