Amazing event space for the Monterey County Boy & Girls Club - Comics for Kids event. A first rate event. The food was amazing. Braised short ribs were freaking amazing. I really enjoyed the pre=reception area with complementary wine and light appetizers, that include a meat and cheese display and also an ahi-tuna bit that was excellent as well. A wonderful event space for any organization and/or corporate event to showcase their company.

TL:DR - well worth it. Spectacular view and great food A visit for just the views are spectacular. After eating you can take the walking paths down to the beach or stroll the shoreline. Pro tip. - $11.75 entrance fee to visit and will be comp'd if you want. Tell your waitress Food Pretzel and sausage - both are delicious and the sausage is like a mild spice kielbasa Clubs are hearty and yummy Drinks are awesome. Bloody Mary a are like a buffet meal. Lots of yummy items on top. Pro Tip - seagulls will steal your food so be watchful

Had some drinks and cheese plate with my sister in law while we wait for our hubbies to finish golfing. Service was excellent as usual! We stayed at the back outdoor seating area to enjoy the sunset and the bagpiper. Afterwards, we headed to Roy's for dinner.

    Music in the lobby...

The view, the food, the service, the convenience, the entertainment (often have music and the bagpipes daily), makes this stop a must for anyone visiting the area. To here are also shops. Roy's is fantastic, but even just appetizers and drinks around the fire pits is a great place to spend your evening. The sunsets are epic!

We stayed here for several days to play the golf courses in the area. It was a wonderful place to stay. Upon checking in, we were upgraded to an ocean side room and it came with outstanding views. Our room was on the fairway of the first hole of the course so I could watch the golfers from our deck. We were also right along the path of the bagpipe player so we could see her start on the first tee and watch her as she made her way down the first hole, past our room. Almost like a personal concert. Deer were often seen on the course through our room windows. Our room was spacious. The bed was so cozy and comfy. Free snacks and sofa was replenished daily. Our first day there it was hot but the next few were chilly and the in-room fire place provided welcome warmth. There was turn down service each night with a couple chocolates as a night cap. We even took advantage of the free Lexus car rental for a couple of hours to take a scenic tour of the area in a LC 500 convertible. So fun! After golf one day, we were looking for a snack and a cocktail and ended up on the hotel patio overlooking the ocean. Again great service and food. Valet was awesome. Such great service. A service charge was added to our bill each day to accommodate tipping of valet, housekeeping, etc. Golf and restaurants not included. Hotel staff was very helpful and welcoming. Loved our stay here.

Perfect afternoon at Spanish Bay! Sat outside in the fog by the firepit so it was toasty warm. For lunch I had a huge burger and my friend had Bavarian sausage and pretzel. Wow that was good! I had to try it!! Then we walked down a trail to beach. As always, the service was perfect!!

Had cocktails and apps here and it was by far the most breathtaking view in the Monterey peninsula. Overlooks the links and pebble beach and a bagpiper plays every evening around the 6 PM hour. I highly recommend it. Service was also very good.

I came here with a few friends to have a drink and see the bagpipe player close the golf course at sunset on a Saturday evening. We arrived around 4:30pm. The outdoor seating was totally packed. There was one empty table (with no chairs) that stood around. All this being said, plan ahead and get here early. The four of us ordered cocktails. They were all very good, although a bit stronger than I expected! The bagpiper was wonderful; it was really a treat to listen to such great music while watching the sun set.

Absolutely in my top three all time best places to stay. The staff, service, food and amenities were exceptional on my recent stay here. The shuttle is very prompt and will easily accommodate any needs you may have for short trips around the area. The room size and interiors are first class and provide amazing views as seen in my pic. The fitness room and pool are very nice as well. So much to do, I only regret having three nights here.

We came here after driving around the 17 mile drive. We were going to have dinner here at Roys. We roamed around the premises a bit. The patio and garden area was lovely. Perfect to sit around and have a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. The best thing about it is the view of the course and the ocean. So peaceful. The kids and our dog enjoyed running around. Next time, we will check in, reading the reviews seems like it is quite a stay at this place.

Impeccable - from the service to the amenities to the killer views. Loved our weekend stay which was filled with sunshine and great hospitality.

View from our seat on the patio.

Beautiful skylights in both bathrooms that let in lots of natural light. The front bedroom has a cozy fireplace. The primary bathroom has a separate vanity/sink area from the toilet and tub/shower room. The second bathroom has a walk-in stall shower. There's a tv in each room. The windows appear to be newer, open easily, and have screens. Overall, this room felt comfortable, well maintained, and updated. Room 30 - Average This is a single-room accommodation in the Victorian house at the rear of the property. One bathroom with the sink/shower area separated from the toilet/tub by a half wall. It wasn't nearly as nice as Room 18. There was a slight "old house" odor--not overwhelming, but noticeable. Parking is about 25' away. There are about 5 steps to go up to the landing. The windows do not open and do not have screens. Overall Property The property made a very good impression overall. Clean rooms and fresh, comfortable linens. General cleanliness was excellent. Maintenance was good (I'd rate it about 8.5/10--mostly minor paint touch-ups and cosmetic items). Parking directly outside the room was a huge convenience. Ice machine was nearby and worked well. The pool is conveniently located across from the rooms. The grounds are attractive and well kept. Every front desk employee we encountered was friendly and welcoming. I'd gladly stay here again--I'd just request Room 18 (or something similar) next time.

We had breakfast every morning and it was hot, fresh and provided variety each day. We stayed in Room 21, La Porte. It included a private side entrance outside the main house which was great. I think our room location was a little noisier than other rooms due to the entrance area outside the room being used by staff and some other guests. This wasn't a bad thing for us but something to note for those looking for quiet. We'll definitely come back to Pacific Grove and the Gosby will definitely be a consideration for lodging.

It felt like we were inconveniencing her by having the audacity to check into our room. The room was small but that's fine, it's to be expected. Note that the walls are THIN AS CAN BE. I could hear the room next to us flush their toilet. I wish I was joking. The worst part was the shower head. The first day it was spraying a bit to the sides and got the bathroom floor a little wet. The second day all hell broke loose and the entire bathroom was soaked after a 5 minute shower. I had to wipe down the counter, the toilet, and the sink from all the shower water. I've never experienced anything like it. The "continental breakfast" is pathetic. Cold and tiny pastries and blueberry bagels. So expect to eat elsewhere for breakfast. I recommend Winston's around the corner (it's outstanding). The lady at the front desk the day we checked out and that I reported the shower leak to was very hospitable. To be honest, she was the only positive part of this entire experience. I'm just so disappointed in this place. I was really looking forward to our stay but it fell short in every way plus some. I waited and waited, and after several minutes of waiting I dinged the bell. Nothing. I finally called the hotel and let it ring for a while, no one answered or came to the lobby where the phone was ringing to answer. I waited longer and tapped the bell again, so I stood there and continued waiting. A young woman finally came to the desk, she was nice enough throughout our interaction, but didn't apologize for leaving me waiting or even ask how long I'd been standing there. This next part is important to keep in mind if you have mobility issues, I asked for a room without stairs, and she said there weren't any. When I booked, the listing said accessible, it wasn't. She said this hotel were converted condos and they all have stairs. We had to go up to two sets of stairs, between my arthritis and the weight of my bags, getting luggage up to the room was a challenge. During check-in, the front desk clerk also instructed me to park right next to the lobby in the handicap spot. She said "it's okay for you to park there, we just have the handicap sign up because we have to, but nobody ever comes to check it." I informed her that's where I was already parked because I have a handicap placard. But her instructing me to park in the only visible accessible spot not knowing I even had a placard really upset me, those spots need to be reserved for those that require them. We were in room 115, which is right above the lobby where breakfast takes place. You can hear the automatic door opening and closing every single time someone entered or exited the lobby making it impossible to sleep in. The room was super clean, I liked that we had two separate bedrooms, and the wet bar with a microwave and fridge were good too. The room also has no AC, just a heater. We had to open the windows to air the room out and there were no locks at the tops of the windows or sliding door to keep it securely cracked while sleeping, so the room was very stuffy. The bed is also super firm and the pillows are a weird small square shape. We did check-out the breakfast and the area was super clean, but their selection wasn't great. Overall our stay was good, but I probably wouldn't pick this property again when there are better options at a similar price point nearby.
