Honestly for the price point this place is just okay to me. It's kind of old, so the walls are super thin. We could hear people in the room next to us, outside, and the water pipes above us were so loud. There also isn't a hot tub! Sure the pool is warm but such a let down. Overall, just an okay experience.

Booked the Quail through Booking.com. It was an incredible stay and did not disappoint! Spacious, lots of greenery, away from the hustle and bustle in Monterey and Carmel by the Sea, gorgeous golf courses, heated pool, and lots of parking! Breakfast included? No, unfortunately. Rooms spacious? Yes! Ours didn't have a kitchenette or microwave, but it did have a fridge, balcony, and nice bathroom with a tub. Clean? Yes, nice and tidy. Free parking? Sorry, I don't recall. Have kids? Request for a room on ground level. As soon as we entered the room on the second floor, we received a call complaint that we were too noisy.. for walking around our room? Front desk isn't too bright as we JUST spoke with them AT the front desk and they knew my room number. Walked over, got in the room, received a call about those below complaining we were too noisy - no kidding. Told them we JUST got there and that was that. Avoid this annoyance and get a room on the first floor. TIPS. Leave your parking permit on your dashboard. They rent free electronic bikes (scooters?) to get around. Note the time they have FREE WINE in the lobby! Enjoy the heated pool if you have kids. Fire pits are lit at night - get your free s'mores at front desk and enjoy your snacks by the fire! ONE CON. Heading into the city? The left turn can be brutal as the main street can be quite busy at times. So just be mindful, patient, and take your time. Better late than not at all. Overall, we were very happy to have stayed at the Quail and have no regrets (besides the one complaint annoyance - but hey, that's people, am I right?). We were there to explore Monterey and Carmel by the Sea. We wanted space, quietness, privacy, and away from the busy traffic - this hotel location gave us precisely that and then some. Pricey? Yes. Worth it? Yes. Highly recommended for some R&R and a quick weekend getaway!

I was here only for one night. Parking is free! The lobby does not have coffee, only in the early morning like 5 AM. They have hot water and tea though. The receptionist was nice during check in. They give free s'mores kits. There are campfires around the property. I had a relaxing night! Room: I had a room with two queens. It was very spacious! There was a separate shower and bathtub in the bathroom. There were black out curtains on the windows. I didn't realize there was a window on the ceiling until the sun shown down in the morning. Then I also noticed there were blinds to block out the sun on that too! The bed was so comfy. The blanket was so warm and seemed like down feather. They gave us two complimentary glass bottles of Martinelli's apple cider. Amenities: -Fitness center. I was here at night, so it was very dark. I only saw one small room with cardio equipment. No weights. -Spa. There was no water dispenser and no hair dryer. In the women's locker room, there were lockers, one shower, new bathrobes, one pair of slippers (that we saw), and fresh towels. The steam room was small but could fit at 4-5 people. -Pool. The pool is heated. I wish they had a jacuzzi! -Golf. I think they had a 9-hole course on the property, but I did not partake in this. -Golf shop/Golf club. This is a 10 minute walk from the lodge. You can rent and purchase equipment here. -Tennis/pickleball. Equipment is free to borrow. No shade for the pickleball court. One tennis court is covered in shade by itself. Not sure about lighting. No wind guards. -Restaurants. See website for hours. When I checked out around 11-12PM, the restaurant was closed.

Stayed at Quail Lodge & Golf Club in Carmel and it was everything. My room had a little balcony, perfect for slow mornings with coffee or wine at night. The complimentary e-bikes were such a fun way to explore--I rode to Earthbound Farm for breakfast, sat outside with fresh pastries and sunshine, and took my time heading back. The afternoon wine and dessert hour was the perfect excuse to slow down and just enjoy. I ended up chatting with a couple who have been coming here for years and immediately got why. Everything feels effortless, from the staff to the peaceful surroundings. Whether you're here for golf, biking or just to unwind, it's the kind of place that makes you want to extend your stay. Downtown Carmel is close by and if you go, dinner at La Bicyclette or Casanova is a must. Already planning my next trip back.

We had a really wonderful stay here for our anniversary weekend. We arrived a little before check in and were grateful they were able let us into our room early. These rooms are huge! It's almost like having your own little suite, complete with a little backyard patio area. There was also a full tub which is always appreciated since I love a good soak. Definitely more than just a nice place to rest our heads, this was a cozy place to call home for the weekend. We ventured off campus quite a bit but there was also lots to do here onsite, including a nice restaurant (reviewed separately), putting holes and complimentary putters, sipping hour from 3-4 and (my favorite) fire pits and complimentary s'mores kits! This was such a cute idea and just made the trip even more memorable than your typical hotel stay. Neither my husband nor I are golfers but we had fun practicing. It was also nice that the hotel was dog friendly so we could bring our dog with us around the property and there was plenty of grassy area for her. While I didn't make use of the fitness center, my husband appreciated that the pool was heated for his swims. The fitness center is modest (three rooms: one of cardio with a few treadmills, one for strength training with some dumbbells and a small rack, and one for yoga/stretching) but there is plenty here for everyone. Overall, I would absolutely stay here again and will recommend it for anyone else visiting Carmel!

This is a great golf course! Staff is really friendly and helpful. Driving range and practice area is first class and has everything you need and more. Course is manicured perfectly. Tee boxes, fairways, greens and rough are in excellent condition. The course layout is extremely fun. The greens are fast but not gimicky at all. Restaurant is really good for golf course food standards. All around this is a wonderful golf experience. I highly recommend giving this spot a try if you haven't already. One of the best and most underrated golf courses in Monterey County.

This could have been 5 stars except for the horrible service and noise, especially for $800/night. So incredibly beautiful! I enjoyed our (almost) relaxing stay here. I wish we stayed here longer rather than just an overnight stop before heading down the PCH to SoCal (btw the PCH is actually closed - double-check before you go because there isn't really any signage about it for awhile). Ambiance/Location: The lodge is located away from downtown Carmel, so you will need to drive into town. That said, this place is so peaceful because it's nestled away from the hustle and bustle. I felt instantly relaxed here with it's green golf fields and twinkling lights. Noise: Even though the ambiance/room was nice, there were people golfing with kids right outside of our room. There's not much privacy as people can look directly into your room from outside and from adjacent rooms. The noise level was quite high until sunset. Then in the morning, the grounds people started tending to the landscape quite early. We couldn't really enjoy our sleep or the view while the mowing, spraying, and equipment dragging was happening right outside, as lovely as the view was. Customer Service: This was the biggest let down. We pulled up to the lodge valet and waited for 5-10 minutes. No one was there to greet us. There's also no sign directing you where to go. My SO had to try the entrances to go inside. They don't really tell you much about the perks of your booking. The worst part of our experience was the check out. We dropped by the lobby to take a quick look before leaving. The front desk people did not greet us when we came in (actually turned away, moved to the other side of the reception desk). This didn't bother me much because the place is prettily decorated. However, when we came up to the reception desk to return our keys, the girl ignored us, then picked up the phone and continued to ignore us. Finally, we had to call out to her. She turned to look at us, but didn't acknowledge us. We asked if we could drop off out keys with her because we've already left out room/about to leave. Perhaps she wasn't a morning person, because she seemed really annoyed at us, and told us to put our keys back in the room before turning away. Up to this point, I would have still given the place a 4/5 stars, even with all the constructions and lack of amenities, but this really soured our experience. I would have bought the some Molton Brown products here, but there wasn't even an opportunity to. Note: We didn't get to walk around much because our stay was short and everything was closed. I would like to stay here again for longer to enjoy the experience, but am hesitant due to the service we received. The restaurant was also closed. Maybe we will sty somewhere else in this area to enjoy the views.

This hotel is beautiful. Their grounds are beautiful. All the people at the front desk are so helpful and friendly. There is a restaurant on site, a pool, and a workout facility. Our room with two beds was HUGE! we didn't expect the room to be as big as it was with vaulted ceilings. I honestly didn't want to leave this hotel. There is a Mexican restaurant close by that had amazing Mexican food as well. STAY HERE. It is a must!

I recently had the pleasure of spending a romantic weekend at the Quail Lodge and Golf Club, and it surpassed all expectations! We stayed in a Junior King Suite and it was probably one of the nicest "hotel" rooms i've ever stayed in! In terms of accommodations, anything we could have needed was provided at Quail Lodge (hello, heated bathroom floors lol); on top of that, we were gifted with a complimentary bottle of pinot noir and a box of some of the best chocolates I have tasted in a long time :) We ate breakfast at Covey Grill on Sunday morning. Our service was excellent. The food came out quickly and was delicious (he had the french toast, I had scrambled eggs and bacon). I don't usually enjoy eating outside, but dining on the deck next to the water was sublime! The grounds are a thing of beauty.... if you stay here take the time to walk around and appreciate the variety of the foliage and care that is taken to keep everything looking pristine. We didn't have time to stop and play the 9 hole course, but it would be fun to try out next time (I believe they said it's free and they can provide clubs and balls). Overall, the lodge was very quiet. Parking was easy. The staff here was friendly and attentive. It's a quick 10-15 min. drive to downtown Carmel. If you don't want to go downtown, there's a cute little dining/shopping center within walking distance of Quail Lodge. We could hear live music on Saturday night! I would stay here again in a heartbeat (this time we would play golf) and would recommend Quail Lodge to anyone visiting the Carmel Valley.

Recently we went on a trip to Northern California and we decided to drive the coast back home so upon one of the nights we impromptu chose to find a hotel for the night; and we came across the Quail Lodge, which was still open to take reservations. It worked out well and the staff was all more than accommodating and the grounds were well kept and the room was exquisite and very clean and well taken care of. Although, we didn't visit to golf, we were able to enjoy the stay and the views and had a lovely breakfast before we headed out. We also had a hybrid vehicle and attempted to use the charging station, but it was extremely slow charging. You'd probably need to leave it over night for a full charge, they should really consider upgrading their unit.

Location: beautiful breathtaking views tucked away in a mountain valley, it is a perfect spot to get away from the hustle and bustle from city noise pollution and high populations. Customer service: there are only 1-2 check in desks, where they spend about 10-20 minutes with each customer explaining the property amenities, location of room, events, etc. when you've been traveling all day, every minute feels like a lifetime. Restaurant: there is only one full service, sit in restaurant that gets booked very fast especially for dinner. Plan ahead and make a reservation in advance for every night you plan to stay on campus and eat there, otherwise, expect to wait until 8 pm or drive to the nearby restaurants which include a Subway, pizza joint, or a small Vietnamese restaurant. Earthbound Organic Farm is a great alternative option for a small breakfast or lunch bites. There is another Mexican restaurant nearby. Clientele in the mornings consist of rowdy children and their inconsiderate parents. I recommend asking to be seated outside if you have well mannered children and want to eat in peace. Rooms: mediocre clean. For being a Hyatt affiliated hotel, I had higher expectations, rooms are carpeted with wooden floors and heavy rugs. This resort is pet friendly so if you have someone in the family that suffers from allergies or has a very sensitive nose, this is not the best place to stay. As most Californian hotels that have carpeting, you can smell odors in the carpeting and linen. When things got hot and humid in our room, I got a nice whiff of dog. Basically any pet friendly hotel means that your linens will be washed with dog poo or other animal fluids. Rooms are only dusted at eye level but if you're someone that is concerned about dust mites, be prepared to get a showering of dust mites on bed, where the headboards reach 6' high and hold lots of lovely layers of dust. Coffee pot is sad and comparable to a motel 6 version with blah coffee, and lastly the beds are super firm with no ability to adjust (like other Hyatt holidays offer), and pillows are huge and uncomfortable. Foam alternative is slightly softer but still too high for a back sleeper or stomach sleeper. Bathroom: limited. They do provide tiny handwashing bars of soap made of lavender, and provide a tiny sample sac of lavender salt to use in tub but for those with allergies, best to request an alternative if any. Shower corners contain black mold. Refrigerators: our room had a tiny refrigerator that could hardly fit anything and doesn't cool sufficiently so for those moms packing extra healthy snacks for your kids, consider your fridge useless. All the strawberries, yogurts and hummus we purchased made it straight to the trash. Room patio: dirty and useless. There was a couple of upholstered seats and one table on our patio that could not be enjoyed as they were filled with dirt, dust and leaves. Would I stay here again? No - due to the pet issue for me. Most Californians love their pets and don't mind staying in places that wreak of dog butts that they've habituated to. Like I said, my husband had good intentions but there were too many issues that made it undesirable for me.

He has 0 customer service skills and should not be customer facing. He had minimal eye contact, cold demeanor as if we were bothering him, mumbling, and just overall unpleasant. He had the demeanor of a bro cashier at a GNC. There was a guy next to him which I assume was IT or something since he was messing with something at the front. There was a woman who brought us a welcome glass of champagne, and Angel - who gave us a brief tour and brought our luggage to the room. Angel and the woman were nice. Champagne was good, however I wish they offered non alcoholic options like a juice or sparking cider. Throughout our stay, we encountered many staff on the property in passing - not a single smile from any of them. Even the housekeeping staff at a BestWestern are nicer than the staff here. - Room: gorgeous but small. Booking a room for 2 does not just mean having a big enough bed, but actually room for 2 humans to move around. There is not enough room to lay your luggage out anywhere, and the bathroom was narrow. I would've liked to have a towel bar by the sink instead of having a silly rock be what holds the towel up. The room is aesthetically stunning and the bed was very comfortable. I loved the ambient lighting options and motion activated under-lighting. I liked that we had a balcony. I enjoyed the soaps / lotions, as well all the nespresso in the room. Air conditioning worked well. Room was very clean. - Parking: parking was easy in the day. We lucked out at night but guests arriving after 8pm had nowhere to park, which we witnessed first hand. We saw a guest told the staff "the lot is full", and the staff said "just take the EV spot". What about your guests with EVs who need to charge their cars for the night? On another day, a large car was parked in the entrance into the hotel (not the street) and stayed there for 15 min which blocked entry for everyone else - i wish the staff came out to inform the guest that they couldn't leave their car the. The main lot is very tight with slim spots and awkward parking angles, but the back lot was good . While this wasn't an issue for me, I can imagine coming off of a long flight, finally getting to the hotel at night, and being frustrated at the lack of available parking. - Breakfast: this is the main reason we wanted to stay here. The breakfast itself is good, not great. The French toast, juice, chia pudding and eggs are best things - everything else is okay as I found some things to be stale such as the waffles and muffins. I did enjoy how the food is displayed, and there lots of variety. Staff is constantly refilling items so you never have to worry about things running out, regardless of when you arrive for breakfast. Breakfast is much later than it is at other hotels, and with a small window (8-10am), which can be an issue if you are planning to eat early prior to a hike. 2 staff stay in the area however they just stare at you from the corner of the room. No smile, no good morning. The first day, I felt like we were being stared at as if we were freeloaders sneaking in for free breakfast. It was very uncomfortable. Not sure if they were staring because we're younger than a majority of the other guests but there really is no excuse. I think they should do a wrist band system or something if they insist on eyeing people. Property- they have a cafe by the breakfast area where you can order hand crafted pizza. We didn't do this but it smelled great. The location is convenient with lots of restaurants within walking distance . As a hotel guest, you get a discount at the Foray restaurant, which is closed mondays and Tuesdays Overall: Beautiful, but I don't think I'd stay again. For the price point and all the amenities, I expected to be in love with this hotel. At other hotels with this price point, I'm usually like "I don't want leave!", but not here. It wasn't a bad stay, but the experience didn't match the price point. I hope they get better staff or else I could see this hotel failing in the future.

My colleague retired so we celebrated her with dinner at Mission Ranch Inn. It was my first time…read moreand the day was overcast but it was still beautiful and we saw the sheep! It was hustling and bustling and we had to wait about 30 minutes for a party of 7. We ordered the filet mignon, prime rib, bacon wrapped porch chop, fish of the day which was sea bass. For dessert not pictured was the crème burlee, bread pudding, and affogato. Some of us got the same meal. I had the prime rib median well and I wasn't expecting it be so big! It was tender and came with veggies and a baked potato. I was pleasantly surprised by how good the veggies were cooked. I'm not a huge fan of squash but I really enjoyed it. I had left overs because of how big the steak was. We also had a basket of garlic bread which was good. It wasn't the best garlic bread I've had but it was and they gave us a lot. I tried both the bread pudding and affogato which were delicious. All were made in house including the ice cream. Overall, it was a great experience as the ambiance was amazing. It was like three different sections: outside, inside, and closer to the bar area which got really packed. I want to return to experience the Sunday brunch.

For the price point in this area, Carmel Mission Inn is decent. But considering the price overall,…read morethe experience was still pretty underwhelming. Everything in Carmel is expensive, including lodging. This is one of the more affordable options for anyone looking to stay. This place also drew me in being that it's also very dog friendly ($100 fee per pet per stay). Also nice amenities - pool, spa, gym. The location of the hotel is good, right off the 1 Highway, just a few steps away from a gas station. There are some restaurants in the neighboring plaza (the hotel has their own restaurant as well, Sheerwater Tavern). And there is a plaza across the street that will have basically everything you need - grocery store, CVS, etc. Front desk service is mediocre at best. Staff are not very welcoming, but they're nice and get the job done. My hotel room was on the first floor and faced the parking lot. The good thing was being able to park right in front of our room (first come, first serve). Negative side was not enough natural lighting and hearing the sound of cars directly in the parking lot. The walls are very THIN. You can hear people's conversations in the next room over, and even worse, I was woken up in the middle of the night to a baby crying incessantly. I was slowly slipping into madness debating whether or not I should bang on their wall. Thankfully, the heater in the room was loud enough to muffle the sounds and helped me finally go back to sleep. The interior itself is decent, with nice modern decor. Cleaning could be better, as there was visible dust in certain areas. I like that the water is generously hot, however the shower water pressure is very weak. Overall, I felt pretty indifferent about my experience here. I've stayed at many other places where the experience was much more memorable. If I ever found myself back in Carmel, not sure if I'd stay here again.
