We stayed here in pacific grove for three days at the Martine Inn. We stayed in the Victoriana room. It was a nice spacious room with a beautiful view of the ocean. The windows in our room had no screens on them and you could barely open the windows enough to get fresh air. They only have parking for 9 cars under the old wooden trellises, right on Ocean Blvd. The Inn is up the hill. You take a few flights up the stairs from the parking lot to get there. We had to park on the street because the lot was mostly full except for an area where the wood was rotten and ready to fall. We didn't want to risk that falling on our car. You have to take a few flights stairs to get to the front door of the Inn. It took awhile to get our luggage and other items up there. We checked in with Pearl, the Inn Keeper, and she gave us a tour of the property and showed us to our room. After that we never saw her again. They offered a full service breakfast with a set menu with several options to pick from. Breakfast is offered 8:00am to 10:00am. The breakfast room was very nice and the food was good. They have a set menu with a variety of options. You make your selection and they serve you. All the Inn staff were very friendly, hard working and accommodating. We were so grateful for their kindness. If you needed anything they will help you. The Inn is located very close to the Monterey Bay Aquarium and the wharf, which was convenient. The property is definitely old and is in dire need of repairs and upgrades. The bed in our room was awful. So uncomfortable that it made our backs hurt. The bed squeaked with every move you made. You can tell that it was very old. The bathroom was also in need of renovation. It looked dirty on the bottom of the shower probably because of wear and tear and age. When it was time to check out, at 11:00am, there was no Inn keeper to be found. We asked an employee who was painting the front game room what we should do. He said that the Inn keeper was not there and that we can leave our key on the counter and leave. I thought that was strange, but we did what he said. Also, a week before our check in, I called nearly every day to ask if we can have a feather free room, because of an allergy I have. But nobody ever answered the phone. They had a voicemail but it was so generic and just said " leave a message". I thought I was dialing the wrong number. And I couldn't leave a message because the mail box was full. If you are in the hospitality business you should probably have a more professional message for your voicemail identifying your business, and maybe have someone actually answer the phone. I thought that was very unprofessional. I think this is a one and done stay for us. I'm glad we got to experience it once. A shout out to the staff who work tirelessly to keep that place running. It's a shame the new owners are not investing in repairs and upgrades to their property. read more

I love this place but there are a few things that could be improved. This has incredible potential that is not being utilized. Pros: Spectacular historical property, perfect oceanfront location, the sound of the ocean from your bedroom window, a beautiful courtyard, incredible antiques in every room, pretty wallpaper, good breakfast served in a wonderful room with panoramic ocean view. I also really liked Yuri and Casey. They were both lovely and friendly. Cons: The lobby is odd, dark and uninviting. There should be a check in desk and it should be welcoming. There could be a luxury candle burning to make it smell nice. The piano room is strange too. There should be a small bar and lively music or classical music. The sofas should be useable. It should be a place for socializing. The wood burning fireplaces are outdated and should be gas with a switch. My room was nice but smokey because of the fireplace, which I didn't use. Fresh baked cookies in the evening would be nice. Whatever their plans are, I hope the owners make improvements but don't over-modernize. read more

I really enjoyed staying here for our little weekend trip to Monterey! I got the Walnut room. Its quaint with direct access to the courtyard. When we got there, an inn keeper greeted us warmly and gave us a quick tour of the place before showing us to our room. The room was clean and provided everything you would expect from a hotel room (towels, soaps, robes, etc.). I only wish there were more counter space for the bathroom. The breakfast was very good too; they served us a bread pudding with scrambled eggs and bacon. The inn itself had a comforting, vintage feel (without feeling dilapidated). In case you decided to go with one of the less expensive rooms (like I did) the inn also has rooms where you can sit and view the ocean. The inn is located close to the aquarium and local shops, so it was very convenient. Parking was easy to find- there is a parking lot in front of the inn, or you can find plenty of street parking. I found that the parking lot was almost empty when I went a few hours before my check-in time. I would definitely come back here for any future stays. :) read more

Great Location, but Desperately Needs Updates Overall, our stay was just okay. Unfortunately, many of the amenities listed online are no longer offered, which was very misleading. The on-site facilities are dated, run down, and suffering from deferred maintenance--even the landscaping needs serious attention. When we arrived on Tuesday, getting inside took a while. After several minutes of ringing the bell and knocking, someone finally answered, but their unwelcoming demeanor immediately made us feel uncomfortable. Additionally, the bed was very uncomfortable, and because the windows lacked screens, a lot of bugs got into the room. On a positive note, the rest of the staff were super friendly and kind. The location is ideal for getting around, and having off-street parking was a major plus. read more

MOLD and AGGRESSIVE RACIST STAFF. Our experience at this facility was deeply disturbing, both in terms of safety and the way we were treated by staff. I would give zero stars if I could. From the start, there were red flags. On the day of check-in, a staff member named Abdul repeatedly called me asking when we would arrive, even though I clearly stated we were on a road trip and expected to check in between 8-9 p.m. He called again around 5 p.m., and I gave him the same ETA. Then, at 8:30 p.m., he called again and said we needed to provide payment over the phone or we wouldn't be allowed to check in. When I asked if someone would be at the front desk, he said no, because he had to leave. I asked him what time he left, and he said 8 p.m.--then followed that with, "I had to leave at 8 and I'm staying here because of you." This was incredibly unprofessional and made us feel like a burden simply for arriving at the time we had already communicated. The next morning, I approached the front desk to check in properly since no one had been available the night before. Instead of providing any basic customer service or accountability, Nathaniel, the front desk employee, was rude and defensive. He told me I was wrong and insisted someone had been there until 10 p.m., completely dismissing everything I explained. When I calmly brought up the inappropriate behavior and harassment from the night before, he denied all of it and acted as if we were the problem. Their attitude made it crystal clear: they do not care about people, and they certainly do not take responsibility. It only got worse from there. Nathaniel became confrontational and racist, going so far as to block my husband from leaving the building, harass him repeatedly, and call him "pathetic." He even told my husband to "clean up like a real man" after our 7-month-old baby spit up. The way he treated us was not only unprofessional -- it was hostile and discriminatory. To top it off, our room had black mold in the shower -- not minor mildew, but visible, dangerous mold -- which is unacceptable under any circumstances, let alone when you have an infant in the room and a nursing mother. Yet, somehow, this place has a plaque stating it passed health code inspections. Either that's false, or something has gone seriously wrong since. Nathanial also dismissed this even though the facility is inhabitable! This place is not safe. It's not clean. And it is definitely not welcoming to everyone. If you are a person of color, traveling with a family, or simply expect basic human decency from staff -- do not stay here. What we experienced wasn't just poor service. My wife and I really wanted to celebrate our 31st wedding anniversary in the Monterey area. I found the corporate hotels, several of which we've stayed in the past, to be expensive and poorly rated. I found the Martine Inn by chance and, at first, I was a bit apprehensive because our past experiences with bed & breakfast accommodations were not good. However, based on reviews on various websites from travelers who stayed at the inn really liked it. So, I decided to take a chance. Boy, am I glad that I did! We had a wonderful stay. Our room was comfortable and quiet. The staff was friendly, the location is great, and the breakfast was delicious. view from the dining room was amazing. I booked this place for a cute, romantic weekend to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday, and I was incredibly disappointed. For $375 a night, I had high expectations based on the TikToks and the photos on the website, which made the property look beautiful and updated. I booked one of the garden rooms because they appeared calm, modern, and thoughtfully designed online. However, when we checked in, we were brought to an extremely grape-themed room that looked nothing like the photos. The furniture was worn down, the chairs were falling apart, the fabric was pilling, there were stains on the carpet, and the sink was oddly placed in the bedroom. To make matters worse, the outlets didn't even work. The room felt very outdated and did not match the experience that was advertised online. We ended up leaving and booking a different hotel altogether. I really wanted to love this place, but it seems like only the oceanfront rooms are kept updated and those come at an even higher price. Even small details reflected that difference. Online, I had seen the oceanfront rooms come with cute iron keychains attached with the room key, which I thought was such a thoughtful touch, but our room had a cheap plastic one instead. Little things like that made it feel like the hotel only puts care and attention into the more expensive rooms, rather than creating a consistent experience throughout the property. The weather was consistently beautiful throughout our stay, and we made the most of every moment. The staff is really nice and our room was quaint. We will return again. read more

This was the cutest place I have ever stayed at. All the decor is old and authentic. The living space is amazing with a piano that my friend enjoyed playing on. There were things like board games, a pool table, ping pong, etc to entertain yourself. The room was expansive and had the most beautiful view of the ocean. Loved the bed & the fireplace! All the small details made this place amazing. Staff were all very sweet. Worth the price. The breakfast was okay, great set up and the food was decent; maybe 4/5. This hotel is absolutely divine the ability to immediately take you back in time and not in a cheesy way. Absolutely nothing modern sticking out like a sore thumb not even room key cards but actual keys. Plenty of picture opportunities and our room had a beach view and a working log fireplace. There's no televisions. The bathroom had an authentic claw tub as well as a bird cage shower. There's just too many great things to name. The breakfast is an actual sit down and order complimentary breakfast, when we stayed the special was an eggs Benedict type dish but the sauce was creamy with artichokes it was amazing! The fruit was fresh and the orange juice was perfect. The host was really nice. I will say the limit on two guests per room was a lil tough especially two adults and a baby but we just paid an extra fee and were on our way. read more

Wow... I am still utterly disturbed by my experience at the Martine Inn. In my past decade of traveling to some of the most wonderful destinations around the world, never have I been to an establishment where I was treated with such hostility and sheer humiliation as a guest. Upon checking out of our room we approached the bell boy, a tall skinny young male in glasses named Nathaniel (I see a few other reviews here mentioning his disrespectful behavior). We shared with him that we were concerned as we had found black mold spread across the ceiling in the bathroom and that it posed a serious health risk to our family. He seemed extremely annoyed and had nothing to say other than "you can talk to the manager tomorrow" and asked for the keys. While we were handing him the keys he made a foul face at my 6 month old son who my wife was holding and said "your baby just spit up by the way". I was ready to clean it up until he started getting angry about the situation saying "THIS IS YOUR BABY CLEAN IT UP". I explained to Nathaniel that accidents happen and it was just a baby, yet he was still infuriated pointing at the minor spot demanding me to clean it u0. I became very uncomfortable with Nathaniel's rude behavior and felt the need to step outside when he threw me a napkin and said "CLEAN THIS UP LIKE A REAL MAN". I was both shocked and confused and again tried to exit the building at which point he stood in front of the door blocking me from exiting the hotel. At this point I was genuinely concerned that he would get physical with me if I took another step towards the door as he was barricading it from me. I then said "I would like to leave your facility now, will you let me leave?" He responded, "NOT UNTIL YOU CLEAN UP YOUR BABY'S EXCREMENTS LIKE A REAL MAN". Having had enough, I took my chances and walked towards the door ready to call the authorities on him and left the hotel. He followed me out the door sticking his head out yelling, "YOU'RE PATHETIC!". My family dealt with a great deal of trauma that Nathaniel caused during our visit and I was willing to call the authorities as he seemed to be willing to put his hands on me out of anger. I was so shocked because he seemed extremely nice at first smiling at us, but unfortunately he showed us that he is indeed quite malicious. Now that we have left, we are going to be visiting our doctors to have our baby, my wife who is going through postpartum and myself, checked for any potential mold poisoning. Please be aware if you are booking at this establishment as I truly believe this hotel is uninhabitable and absolutely careless. read more

My daughter and I had an absolutely magical experience at this exquisite Inn. We were warmly greeted and given a brief history of the property. We were informed that the room I had reserved had a problem pipe. They, therefore, upgraded our room to "Eastlake," a large room with an adjacent sitting room - both with stunning views of the ocean. We saw dolphins several times. We had planned to eat dinner out yet chose not to - to spend all of our time in the Inn! Neither of us craved a bath, but partook, as our room had the largest clawfoot of any room. This is literally stepping back in time over 100 years ago. We had hoped to get on the road early but didn't want to miss breakfast. Wise choice! The service is exceptional. The presentation is beautiful. A crackling fire... delicious food... ocean view... I'm going to leave this shirt and sweet. I stayed in the Garden room, that had no working ac/heat, only a fireplace. Lastly there was no microwave, refrigerator, or coffee maker in the room, and after looking, found none in the common areas. For this high of a price there should be somewhere to store your food and drinks as not to have to eat out for every meal. I took for granted these amenities that are available at even a 1 start hotel. The parking was a nightmare and so limited and tight. This place needs major upgrades, is not up to code, and is unfit for people in my opinion. This is my first ever review, that should show how upset I am. I could not cool or heat anything at all. I stayed at another Victorian style B and B, and they provided these common amenities. I will never stay here again to say the least, awful experience on my limited time off of work. read more

The woman who checked us in (Hispanic, glasses -- didn't catch her name) was extremely rude and condescending. We had received an email from the inn stating that our room was ready for early check-in, so we left our previous hotel early, packed the car with all our luggage, and drove over. When we arrived, she didn't even ask our name or what room we were in before snapping that our room wasn't ready and that it was "way too early." When I showed her the email, she brushed it off, saying she didn't know why we got it but the room was not ready. I asked if we could at least have breakfast while we waited, since we were already there, and she curtly responded that breakfast was only for guests from the previous night. No apology, no offer to make things right, not even a gesture of hospitality. For a property that markets itself as upscale, the bare minimum would've been a simple apology or offering us breakfast to make up for their mistake. Later when we returned, the same woman didn't greet us, avoided eye contact, and looked visibly annoyed -- as if she hated her job. Thankfully, a tall gentleman with glasses was there as well and he was far kinder and more professional. When we finally got to our room, the sheets had stains (a dark red/brown substance). We tried calling the front desk three times and no one answered. We even went downstairs but couldn't find anyone. On top of that, while the room had an A/C dial, the unit didn't work at all -- leaving the room hot, stuffy, and uncomfortable. At that point we just stripped the sheets ourselves and dealt with the heat because there was no staff around to help. To be fair, the cleaning staff and the team serving food were nice -- but that doesn't make up for the overall experience. Between the rude check-in, zero accountability for their own email mistake, stained bedding, broken A/C, and lack of customer service, I would not recommend this place. I had an incredible stay at Martine Inn. Check in was extremely easy and the staff was so helpful. Our view from the Parke room never got old and waking up to the sight and sounds of the waves was perfect. Breakfast was included and absolutely delicious. I would recommend the Martine Inn to anyone looking for a unique accommodation in a central location. Yuri was fabulous - helping us check in, check out, and even helped us with items we needed to keep refrigerated. What a lovely team! read more

I've been here on several occasions and every single time the staff surpasses themselves. Everyone is so attentive with a willingness to help! I've spoken to Mr. Martine while making my reservations and he was a delight. I keep going back to the same two rooms...The Suite (my fav) and Eastlake. I'm really excited to stay in the Parke room...the views look stunning. There is a patio area between the main building where most of the rooms are located and the other building where The Suite room is located. There is seating out there with billiards table and Mr. Martines collection of cars. The Suite Room: It's down on the first floor with one other room attached. They're their own building. I love this room because it has a great view of the ocean and you don't really have to worry about ppl upstairs/downstairs (except for your neighbor next-door). It also has a mini fridge, fireplace, bathtub and an old timey shower that takes a sec to learn how to use. I always see whales from this room. There are two chairs and a table with a pair of binoculars. Just look out into the ocean and I bet you'll see them too! I accidentally deleted all my pics from that room =\ Eastlake Room: The Eastlake is also beautiful. You're on I believe the second floor, above the parking area also with a view of the ocean but not that great. This room has a queen bed, no mini fridge, no fireplace, but a nice bathroom with French doors that open up to a beautiful claw foot tub. When you walk into this room, you first go through a little sitting room. This room can be used by all guests, it's not tied into the bedroom itself. It has a couple chairs and a telescope so you can do some whale watching. Food: I came here pre and during the pandemic. I of course, prefer pre pandemic service (you served yourself or ordered off a menu) however those days are gone and no point writing about them lol. Post pandemic, you have a select list of items and it comes to you wrapped in cellophane...I dislike food that smells/taste like cellphone but I'm not one to waste food so I ate it. I highly recommend the Eggs Benedict, hands down my favorite...kudos to the chef! Parking: parking is limited and first come first served so be prepared. Location: This place is located right off the ocean by a seal sanctuary I think. About a 10 min walk to Cannery Row where all the fun stuff is. It's also walking distance to a restaurant called "Passionfish". I highly recommend that place. Delicious Duck Confit and 12hr Lamb Breast!! Had an AMAZING stay - booked the fountain room for a romantic weekend getaway for me and my partner. We loved our time here and are excited to come back. THE INN. The building and all the furnishings have so much charm and personality, and even though everything is obviously quite old, it was all very clean and welcoming, and we had all the modern amenities we needed (mostly mini fridge & plugs.) Bathrobes were included, which I didn't expect. Our room overlooked the garden and we could hear the soothing trickling of the fountain all night. THE LOCATION. A very walkable distance to the aquarium or wherever else you might want to visit in that area. There is a small parking lot that does fill up, but street parking all along the road. AFTERNOON WINE and hor'deurves. Every day at 5PM the front desk staffer brings out wrapped plates of cheese, crackers, salami and fruit (one plate per family staying) and a couple of bottles of wine... and then you just help yourselves! We ended up lingering until 7pm each day, just drinking wine and watching the sun set and the tide come in. The BREAKFASTS. Oh wow, honestly my favorite part of my stay here. There's a menu with a daily special, and once you've made your selection the dining staff bring everything out to you steaming hot on a silver tray. It is all beautiful plated and everything was delicious! Sitting in the dining room with a glorious view of the ocean, listening to the crash of the waves while I had a bit of omelet as my third cup of hot coffee was poured for me... it was just heavenly. read more

I absolutely loved and adored this place! Came to the area for an early birthday trip by myself and couldn't have asked for a better stay. I stayed in the Brass Room which had a king sized bed with a beautiful canopy, a fireplace, the most princess-esque bathroom, and an overall extremely cozy room. Waking up every day of my stay felt like a dream. Also to note the Brass Room has an extra lock on the door for extra safety if you are a solo traveler like me, which was super nice! Everyone I ran into at the Inn was super friendly and always greeted me. They have a nice library with games like chess, a ping pong table, a pool table, and a nice courtyard to sit in. Breakfast in the dining room is also fantastic with its view! The food was okay, but good enough to get you settled and ready to go in the morning. The Monterey Bay Coastal Trail is right outside the Inn which can lead you down to Pacific Grove or down to Cannery Row! This was super convenient as I didn't have to drive to too many places as everything was walkable. Keep in mind, this place is super vintage and full of antiques so don't expect everything to be in tip top shape! If you're into Victorian and antique vibes like me and don't mind little scruffs here and there, then this spot is for you! I hope to be back one day, this place was amazing! read more

So let me preface this with this was probably the worst customer service I have received from a hotel, apathy really. I made a reservation by calling the hotel and noticed that they had a policy of 2 people per room (which is why I called), I asked if my 21month old daughter could sleep in the bed with us, the gentleman said YES thats fine, I asked if they had baby beds and he asked that I email the hotel and someone will get back to me. We emailed the hotel - no response, we called the hotel and left messages, no response. We show up trying to check in prior to going to a party and after the lady working at the hotel shows us to our room she states "there are only two people allowed to a room". We explain that we called and asked and the employee at the hotel said it was fine to have our daughter to sleep in between us. She states "its not allowed, but I can ask my manager but I know what she is going to say". She comes back and says we can get two rooms to have us split up to stay there, essentially double the price. Also the manager is too busy to talk to us. Something to point out is my wife who is in her third trimester is also present and now is incredulous. Essentially they are saying pay double or get out and we will refund your money - not in those words - to a mother and baby...also a detail that might be relevant, we can afford any hotel in the area but chose this one. We are not broke and not rude people. I ask for my refund and reserved a nicer hotel down the street and when they finally come with my bill it has the wrong price, wrong address, and wrong phone number. I tell them that I didn't make the reservation through booking.com but they are telling me I did, I told them someone might be stealing from them and they are confused. We are in hurry, they said it might take a couple days to get my refund so we left. I am still waiting for my refund which I have not received. 1) Over the phone they said my daughter (21 months) could sleep with us 2) They essentially kick out a mother in her 3rd trimester with another child when the room is already paid for (who would do this in the first place). 3) The manager refuses to talk to us because she is busy. 4) They are not leaning into potential fraud and I told them they need to take this more seriously. 5) No one from the hotel apologized until we told them they need to apologize. 6) I called and asked about my refund and they said that they refunded booking.com and that I could call them back, no effort to resolve the issue. I am not working through my credit card to get my money back. This hotel staff seems like they inherited this old piece of crap from family and could care less about the people standing in front of them, they have checked out and have zero skills in customer service. I hope the owner addresses these issues at his hotel. If I wasn't in a hurry I would have caused a major scene they were asking my wife and baby to pay double or leave. I do not write reviews like this but this hotel is asking for legal action if they don't get their crap together. read more

Service: amazing and hospitable staff. Sonia went out of her way to make our breakfast great and James was always checking in and making sure we had enough waters. He always went above and beyond! I highly recommend they get a microwave for the common area for the guests Breakfast: very tasty and diverse options, their blueberry sauce for the blintz was amazing and gave good servings They have a lovely happy hour with wine and snacks Room: the room was smaller and definitely older with a musty smell but that's just because it's an old house. What a delightful place to stay. I felt spoiled with wine and hors d'oeuvres when we first got there. The representative that showed us around was so nice. We ended the stay with this delicious breakfast on fancy silver and China settings. The views from the Inn was breathtaking. So much fun and will definitely go back soon. read more

My partner and I have stayed at Martine Inn several times, enjoying the variety of rooms offered. We love the peaceful views, the friendly staff, the many places to sit and relax, the cold water, coffee and tea ready round the clock and the freshly prepared breakfast options. However, we were sad to see that since new ownership in April '24, they no longer off late afternoon wine and snacks-something we always looked forward to. They also took away the cool vintage cars that you could view in the garage. We were hoping since they took away these two unique features, they'd add in another amenity...but it doesn't seem to be the case. We will be back again, but wanted to mention those two things that we missed. read more

The Martine inn was one of the best experience I have ever had at a hotel/stay. The accommodations were wonderful along with the staff. They have games, beautiful paintings, and a lovely courtyard to relax and maybe read a book. I will be only staying at the Martine inn when I am in town. Thank you. read more

Really cute place right next to the ocean. We stayed in a room called Victoria which had a beautiful ocean view as well as a fire place in the room. The brunch was great and the staff was very service oriented. Can highly recommend this place for a relaxing stay! read more

We spent three nights at Martine Inn. The Brass room. The staff are wonderful, always helpful. It is a very old and creaky building but there was good water pressure in our clawfoot tub and shower. The lamps all worked as did the heater. Just outside was a very bright patio light that was on each night and lit up our room even through the window curtains. Why? We also could have used another blanket as we only had 2 very thin covers. We lit the wood in the fireplace only to discover that it did not draw very well and we were forced to open the door and windows. I thought we got all the smoke out but later we were awakened at 3:30 AM by the smoke alarm. Thank god it only sounded for 5-10 seconds but we were then wide awake with hearts pounding. Turns out there is a seagull nesting in the top of the chimney. Great. The breakfast was very nice. We especially enjoyed the French toast. The dining room overlooks the bay. The location is wonderful, on Oceanview and an easy walk to Lovers Point or to the aquarium. Overall, loved the location, the staff, and the breakfast. But can only give 3 stars considering the problems noted above. read more

We reserved the "Suite" room that overlooks the ocean and we loved the beautiful view out the large window from our bedroom. They even provided a set of binoculars! We liked the Victorian style and decor of the entire building and our room. There are beautiful garden areas and courtyards on site that are refreshing and tranquil. Along the ocean just across the street is a very nice walking (or biking) trail that leads one direction to the fisherman's wharf and the other direction to Lovers point. The Inn also provides ample parking on site so you don't have to find a place on the street. You do have to climb about three flights of stairs from the lower parking area up to the main entrance but there is also an unloading and loading zone that you can drive to at the entrance. Our room had a beautiful Victorian flair and was spacious with a romantic wood log fireplace all ready to light. The bathroom was spacious as well with two separate sinks, a bathtub and a separate shower. My wife said she liked the black makeup washcloth that was provided. In the evening they provided wine and some modest hors d'oeuvres. Breakfast was provided in the morning, very elegantly served and the French toast was delicious with a few other options and side dishes available upon request. The cost of our room was better than comparable bed and breakfasts that we have stayed at along the same street so I feel that it was a really good deal financially. The downsides. The carpet in the room was dirty and stained. The bed is old and very uncomfortable to sleep on, I tossed and turned all night. The bed also squeaks which was a problem for romantic reasons. There was one thin blanket on top of the bed and we found another thin blanket in the armoire but I was still freezing cold and had to turn the heat up too high for my tastes. Also the Wi-Fi is just terrible. The wooden fence separating us from the street is falling down and appears like it could easily be broken through by an outsider and we heard some sounds in the night that sounded like somebody trying to break through. So in summary, our experience was mostly positive and with a few changes we'd probably be willing to go back. read more

Quick take: We had a fabulous time First timer staying at a bed and breakfast. We had so much fun staying at the Martine Inn. Our Walnut room faced the courtyard. Looking out of the double french doors we can see the rec room across the courtyard. Also the relaxing flow of water from the fish pond. This Victorian home is nicely decorated and this property faces the ocean. What a spectacular sight during breakfast. Full service breakfast while taking in the view of the waves from across thestreet. There is also a viewing area on the second floor. More windows facing the ocean. The staff is very hospitable and friendly. This BnB is conveniently located in Pacific Grove. We took our walk to Lover's Point Park. We were within walking distance to our brunch spot. Also within walking distance to the aquarium and Cannery Row. It was the perfect weekend getaway. We made a lot of great memories and spent quality time together. Definitely will re-visit The Martine Inn again. Thank you again for a wonderful first time stay. read more
