And even though the word "suite " is in the name, my room was not a "suite", but it was plenty big enough. Also, it is a MOtel, (with the doors in the front part of the building right along the parking lot and facing the street), not a HOtel with an indoor corridor. I was not expecting this, but it was fine. It has its good points. There was a refrigerator and a microwave, big TV, a good bed with lots of pillows, a decent-sized bathroom, fast Internet and lots of lights that actually worked. The room smelled good and was clean, had cool furnishings. I was on the upper floor in the back, and below me was a nice large wooden deck where you could hang out, if you so desired, and stare at the woods and enjoy the bird song. As with any older place, there were several quirks/imperfections, like small holes in the wall where a rack was moved, some of the tiles in my bathroom floor creaked when I walked on certain spots, my curtain to the outside world was a little gappy (duct tape is a wonderful thing) and one panel had been installed upside down, you use an actual key to get in your room, and if you want ice, the manager has to get it for you. None of these quirks/imperfections were overwhelming, just numerous. It is also a smaller place, so a person is not in the office 24-7, their board said 9 AM to 8 PM, although someone is always available by phone. I got good customer service while I was there. I suggest you ask for a room on the back of the building, as they face some nice woods, and the traffic noise is very minimal - I could feel rather than hear when a big truck went by, which was only a few times. One of the bigger points for me to stay here was that this place is outside the main hubbub of Eureka Springs, as I was just passing through town and was not interested in the touristy part of town. Brydan's Suites was an OK place overall, and the price was right, so there you go!

The walls and doors aren't floor to ceiling, so one can hear toilets flushing, tubs draining, etc. But it's great for feeling transported back to the old holistic, homeopathic ways.

An easy drive or you can catch the trolley right in front of the hotel. While it's not fancy, the room has what you need. The bed is not the most comfortable I've ever slept in but it's not bad either. The fridge is a mini but a large model! You can get a pretty good bit of stuff in it. A microwave and coffee maker with a smaller bag of local coffee. A larger screen smart TV with Roku and you can sign into any of your services here. Some are provided. I'm not a huge fan of the lodge decor (I don't like animal hides) but it is cozy and I appreciate the theme. A nice little table in the room as well. The shower/toilet area is very small but fine and the shower has good water pressure. The water temp did fluctuate a bit. My guess is because it's an older hotel, but not so bad that you couldn't make it through your shower. There's not really anyone on site if you need something. They leave some supplies (like towels/toilet paper) in an office area where you can grab some. There were definitely no fancy amenities but there is a salt water pool and a sitting area with a fire pit. Plenty of parking in the lot when we were there. Overall, I thought it was in a great location and was definitely worth the money we paid. We spent very little time in our room and mainly just slept and got dressed there so we didn't need much extra. If you prefer more luxury, this might not be the place for you but you'll also need to increase your budget. Made the booking through a website and were given a room number and key code for its electric door lock. No contact or interaction with staff which doesn't bother me in the slightest. This is an older motel that had been lovingly renovated in a sportsman / lodge theme. They really put in the effort and it shows. Most furnishings appear to be hand made from sawmill lumber and the room was cozy and inviting. They used the "retro" style microwave and refrigerator as well. In front of each room are two patio chairs and a table. There is a large covered deck area near the main entrance with a fire pit feature that we didn't visit but looks like fun. Only minor downside was the bed itself appeared to be from a fish camp as well. Metal bolted frame that creaked anytime you moved slightly. Distracting but not enough to cost them a star. Change the bed out and would give you a six star review!

Now, I was a little hesitant to book at a motel however the Retro Motel exceeded my expectations for its category. The room was very clean, the AC blew cold, and the area felt safe.
