Dr. Hittle is absolutely AMAZING. This is the first time in my life where I was actually excited to go to the dentist and I've had tons of work done to my teeth/seen many dentists before. She was the first dentist that took me seriously when I told her I had tmj and asked if I was routinely okay/needed a break during my treatments. I've always felt comfortable with her and the dental assistant. Never once did I ever feel any sort of judgment from either of them about the condition of my teeth and I've had many dentists judge me for my teeth. Yes this place is pricey, I had to pay for some of my treatment out of pocket, but I can't imagine going to another dentist anymore. All the work that I've had has been great and I've never had any issues. The only downside is they aren't always on time for appointments, probably like 5-15 minute wait from when your appointment was supposed to start. read more

I really enjoyed Dr. Kalapsa. Sadly, my experience with Dr. Neal and another dentist have not been positive. It appears Kalapsa has left. Good for her. If you write a glowing review, you get a percentage off your services. If you write an honest review and mention being overcharged, the work not done well, or anything negative, you get the third degree from Neal's wife and other front office staff. Multiple times my husband and I needed follow up appointments to smooth out crowns or cavities that didn't fit right (done by Dr. Neal). Once I just let nature wear the fix down because even after "fixes" it still wasn't right They continue to harass me for $299. Looking at the bill, most charges come from a 3D scan that shouldn't have been done. I had already had an ultrasound and head ct scan done by medical doctors that didn't indicate salivary stones, but this office did a 3D scan and said there weren't stones...duh! I told you that upon entering (a fill in doctor, not Kalapsa). I question if the services were properly billed. They once had a qualified receptionist who would resubmit billing and magically fix what the other office staff couldn't get covered. I refuse to pay this because it wasn't a service needed at the time. To summarize, the glowing reviews on Google are incentivized. Follow up appointments are needed to make work "right". You can't expect quality work and criticize when it does not meet your expectations. read more

Don't let the google review fool you thinking it's the best clinic in town. I don't know how they are voted the best. You come in there with a problem and all of a sudden they disregard the issue you were coming in there for and state you need other work done first. Now I have a bill that I have to figure out how to pay and also have to go to another different clinic to fix the issue I went in there in the first place for. They are not an honest clinic and will take your vulnerability and say you need this and that done when it's not necessarily needed just to get as much money out of you. I relocated to Lodi and found this dentist on yelp. I've been a patient for over a year and had 2 different dentists. Everytime I left with more pain then when I came in. This last time they told me I had 4 small cavities and set up two appointments to have them filled. Let me start off by saying I've had cavities in the past and had them filled multiple times. I went to my first appointment and left feeling extremely swollen and a weird pain that I have never experienced before. My cheek was swollen for over a week so much that my dimple disappeared and I had an external bruise on my face. I feel like they were just pushing to full cavities that weren't necessary at the time. Went in with a toothache and knew I had to get a root canal done, they suggested I needed my teeth cleaned instead, which I felt was needed, but why not take care of the pain first because I was there for that reason. 1st visit was x rays, consultation, and teeth clean. They told me I needed deep cleaning before I was able to get a root canal. They scheduled me for 2 more visits the following week due to only working on 1/2 of my mouth per visit. I was under the assumption they were going to do the root canal at the same office, but turned out I have to go see a different specialist at a nearby location to get my root canal finished. I ended up getting my teeth deep cleaned and had to pay $370 total for both visits and the Friday of the same week I had to go get my root canal done at Lodi Endodontics. Ended up paying almost $800 for my root canal. They're wanting to do a crown to cover the root canal at this location. I called to schedule an appointment after my root canal, but was told since they haven't gotten the paperwork from Lodi Endodontics for the root canal that they'll have to wait before they could schedule me for a crown for my tooth and they'll reach back to me. It's been 2 weeks now and I haven't heard anything. Stay far away from this dentist office unless you want to make multiple visits and have the money to keep coming here for something that could get completed in the same visit at another office. This office has nice staffs and we're friendly, but I guess that is what you should expect when they're milking you and your insurance for everything that they could. Not coming back here for a crown replacement and will go look elsewhere that is accepting new patients. read more

I have had the extreme displeasure of crossing paths with this office. Dr. David Neal bonded a front tooth and I was not happy with it. I voiced this a day later and went to office. Dr. Kalapsa tried to smooth it out and she knew I was very unhappy. I continued to really not like what almost 600$ got me. I discovered a chip where it was fixed. Wait, was this temporary? Beth promised it would be fixed and Instead I got a certified " Dear John " letter with a partial refund. Not even the courtesy of a phone call. Dr. Neal lacks the skill that his partner, Dr. Kalapsa, possess's. Dr Kalapsa has had more schooling and it shows. I think she is an MD as well as a Dentist. Thank you Dr. Kalapsa & I am so sorry that you decided NOT to fix my tooth. Danielle, hygienist, is one nasty women. She lacks self esteem and tries to make others feel stupid. *Make sure you know your tooth numbers? Are you flippin' kidding? Danielle is the one that started my troubles and is the subject of other poor reviews. Hey Danielle, I have a MSN in Nursing and they do not teach us tooth numbers. We do not want your job. Danielle seems to be a trouble maker and an antagonist. Dr. Neal is married to Beth (sounds like a Soap Opera) and she sits up front. Do not complain as she feels everything her husband does is perfect. She is like a watch DOG. Do not get too close as she may " BITE ". Beth, do not insult patient's teeth or my perfectly great bonded tooth by my Massachusetts dentist. I go to Harvard and Tuft's grads, which makes a difference. I had a toothache on a Friday and called them since they had emergency services listed. They couldn't see me because it was after hours on Friday. I had left a voicemail and one of the doctors called me back with a voicemail and told me to take some combination of ibuprofen and Tylenol until they could see me. I needed some immediate help and I had called my current dental office and left 2 voice mails but they never returned my calls. I got through the weekend and then called my regular dentist first thing Monday morning. I asked if I could come in soon and they said that if I could come in within 45 minutes then they could see me. They are about 25 miles from me so I had to move fast and get up the the highway quickly to make it on time. They brought me in, but were unable to do anything for me as what I needed was a "deep cleaning" and the assistant doing that work could not do a complete cleaning on me as she only had 30 minutes on her schedule. I had gone to them originally because they were known for implants. I had not been able to work out terms with them on work done in prep for my implant before this, which turned out to cost about 3 times more than I was originally quoted. They said that they could rush me in and get a "partial" deep cleaning on my lower right because that was where my gum irritation and pain was and I could pay half of the money for this procedure at this time. I felt like I had been through what I call "assembly line dentistry"at this point and said I'll pass on this work this day and that I would call them. I made a payment on the prior work done and after talking to my wife, she said go to the dentist who bothered to call you back and see what they could do. I was able to come in right away with them and was impressed by their professionalism and my feeling of comfort as soon as I had my exam. They said that I needed a deep cleaning and Beth and Jocelyn called my insurance before my full exam and told me that it was covered quite a bit by my insurance. Working with me on payment options for my upcoming deep cleaning which Beth scheduled for me as soon as possible. I was very happy with my visit and told my wife when I got home that I'm glad I took her advice. Brittany and doctor K took care of me in the chair and Beth and Jocelyn took care of me in the office and I'm so glad that they know how to work with my insurance, unlike my other dentist, who had not been able to so. read more

Dr. Neal and his staff are amazing! Prior to going to The Lodi Dentist I have not had any formal dental care or routine. I found The Lodi Dentist through a positive referral through a good friend and decided to finally get a dental routine going. My RDH Brittainy is beyond GREAT! She greets me with a warm smile and is very thorough but gentle during my cleanings. She goes above and beyond, ensuring I have a solid care program and sets up my needs with the front end folks in regards to my insurance. Great service all around. The office and dental areas are spotless and very warm feeling with comfortable bright lighting and nice decorative accents throughout. The office is across the street from Lodi Memorial. There is a small parking lot for patients or you can park along the street for easier in and out access. The Lodi Dentist will have me as a patient for life as long as Dr. Neal and Brittainy are there to take care of my gums and teeth :) read more

As a new resident of Lodi, it was difficult to locate a new dentist. Someone who was great and made sure that my teeth and gums were healthy. I called around to several dental offices and they were either too packed or didn't know anything about my insurance. I wanted a dental office who's billed my insurance before because I hate being charged without being informed. Kioni, the biller, told me everything I needed to know - very detailed. When I came in today, I was greeted by great receptionists who were quick. I did not have to wait long until I was taken to the back. Breanna, the R.D.A, was very thorough and explained what she was doing. I then met Dr. Neal. He was great! The best dentist I've had in my life. He explained everything and answered all my questions. He also allowed me to make my own decisions without being pressured. Last but not least was Brittany. She was the hygienist who cleaned my teeth. She explained everything and made sure that I was comfortable. In all, everyone at this dental office is great and friendly. I am actually excited to go back for excellent dental care :) read more

Dr. Neal is an extremely patient dentist. He's very knowledgeable in all that he does and will diligently find a solution for even the most difficult treatment plan. I have always been afraid and extremely anxious about going to the dentist, but with Dr. Neal I feel relaxed and no more anxiety!! His very calm manner and consideration for his patients really made me feel comfortable right away. Dr. Neal also fine tuned my dosage and type of anesthesia in a way that doesn't give me adverse side effects. Something no other dentist has been able or willing to do. Dr. Neal sat down and listened to my concerns, without judgement, and consoled me when I was in doubt about work he was about to do on my teeth, or any recommendations he has had. Dr. Neal has done extensive work on me and my family's teeth and we couldn't be any more happy with the results. The staff at Dr. Neal's office are OUTSTANDING!! I went to this dental office back in April and although Dr. Khan was very nice and through I did not care for the hygienist. While she was doing my cleaning it seemed like everything was distracting her and every five minutes she kept stopping for some reason or other. When I'm going in for a clean up I would like a halfway decent cleaning where my teeth feels a little cleaner and some attention on me while this is happening but this is not what happened here.
