I've never had a more jarring physical encounter while conscious. What happened yesterday was a shock and deeply disappointing, and it is not his office staff to blame. Dr Suzuki needs to take responsibility for discussing sedation options with extraction patients well before they make it to his chair. I drove a long way to have a molar extraction done and left knowing that I am not viewed as an individual with individual needs. In the first stages of having a fixed bridge created, I was expected to be awake for a molar extraction that turned out not only to be loud but also difficult; three roots had calcified to the bone, and they were pried back and forth, back and forth out of my head. I heard Every. Awful. Cracking sound and felt wave after wave of nausea from the intense pressure across my upper jaw. There was zero conversation about nitrous oxide prior to his just getting 'er done via local numbing -- only a curt ultimatum: I could drive all the way back to Berkeley and return another day if I wanted anaesthesia, or I could lay back and take it. He didn't hesitate to tell me the post-mauling details afterward while I sat there stunned. Why would I want to hear the gory details after I'd expected to have them mercifully blunted by lack of consciousness? No. This is not the 1800s. read more

Dr. Suzuki is awesome! He's been my family's dentist for over 5+ years. I like to call him Flash because he's always very thorough and fast like flash! I love that him and his team are perfectionists! They won't let you leave that chair until everything is perfect! I had to write a yelp review because as I get older I feel like I gotta show Doc some love. Especially since recently he fixed this chip in my tooth and I was so grateful . What an amazing Dentist, and his team(who have been with him for years) is equally as wonderful. In and out quickly with no pain(for my candy loving cavity stricken mouth), and jokes and smiles all around. I had an emergency situation shortly before the holidays when I thought I'd broken a crown. In addition to my being out of town and not knowing of a dentist in the area my daughter went on yelp and found Dr. Suzuki; and based on his ratings recommended I try him. I was greeted and treated as though I had been a long time patient. Upon examining my mouth the doctor informed me that the crown had in fact ruptured and could not be saved. After x-rays and an exam he provided me with three options. I appreciated being provided with options so that I could make an informed decision. Feeling totally despondent, because my situation was much worse than I had originally thought. I explained to him that I was scheduled to give a presentation in a couple of days and couldn't really speak with a big gapping hole in the front of my mouth. Well... Dr. Suzuki and his competent staff did everything just short of a miracle to patch me up so I could give my presentation. I had to return of course, for a follow up visit. But, guess what he remembered me and asked how the presentation went? I live in Pine Grove which is 45 minutes from Lodi; but it's too hard to find quality, professional dental care in a clean and up to date office for me not to make the trek to lovely Lodi. Now that the emergency is behind me, I plan to have some other much needed work performed by Dr. Suzuki. read more

Well, I went in today for a deep cleaning. Andrea, who I'm assuming is a dental hygienist, started by stabbing me in the lip with the syringe. Then blamed her shaky hands on "a cleanse" she just started and kept stating the one cup of coffee she drank really got to her. She got one injection in and said she was too shaky and was going to get the doctor to finish the injections before the cleaning. Then, another staff member came in and told me they weren't going to be able to continue at all. Now my face is numb and most of my day is shot. Very unprofessional. read more

The staff is so kind, helpful, and friendly! They go above and beyond to make sure your comfortable, from getting out blankets to when you're cold, to helping with insurance! I just can't catch a break when it comes to dentists. I had heard good things about Dr. Suzuki when I moved back to the area, but have been continually disappointed. He never remembers who I am nor any of my history, I've never seen him check a file or recall the last visit. He spends very little time, never can give you a straight answer, and always asks what brings you in. Well, if he looked at the patient file maybe he'd have an idea. I was just in earlier today for pain that's been reoccurring since a procedure he did back in September of 2012, and again today he decided to go the "conservative" route...Just grind the teeth down a bit. Well if he knew anything about me he would know he's done that twice before. He ultimately referred me to an endodontist. But when I asked " well, what do I do about the pain between now and then?" He snapped "is it really THAT bad?" Talk about a horrible attitude. There's plenty more I can say, but I think I've made my point. I'll not be going back for even my cleaning at the end of the month. read more

I would like to add that I appreciate Dr. Suzuki agreeing to accept me as a new patient, after one DDS in Lodi and another in Stockton refused to see me further, due to my complex dental status. The doctor sat down with me and patiently explained the situation with my teeth, helping me to understand my options, none of which will be financially pleasant, but they are necessary. Within the past twelve months, I have been treated by five DDS, two incompetents from overseas, who cost me $3,000 in work that now needs to be re-done, and two here in California, who, while capable, seemed more interested in cash flow, since I am a self-pay patient. I just thank God I found Dr. Suzuki. It will be a struggle to regain my dental health, but, with his help and the support of his office staff, I am certain I will achieve that goal.... read more

My dental insurance is actually excellent. I'm a teacher and have 100% coverage but my previous run ins with other dentist turned me away from visiting for several years. After recently moving to Lodi I thought I should try look into a dentist. Now two years later I am very glad I decided to go back. Now I'm back on a regular cleaning schedule. Dr. Suzuki is a terrific dentist. My first visit, he sat down with me and we reviewed my X-rays. I found out I grind my teeth at night. I had no idea. He showed me where my teeth were wearing down and even had me move my jaw side to side and forward and showed me where my teeth matched up with my grinding. He takes time out to explain things to you and answers all of your questions. He and his team make you feel comfortable which is a great plus for anyone who is nervous going to the dentist. I generally do not have time to write reviews whether good or bad, however I thought since Dr. Suzuki and his staff takes extraordinary time to please their patients I would take a few minutes out of my day to commend them for the excellent service they provide. The excellent service starts from the moment you walk into their office. The front staff made me feel at home and comfortable from the start. I have been there three times and don't think I waited more than ten minutes with any of the visits. The work flow that they are able to achieve is well beyond any other facilities I have visited through my lifetime. They are efficient and extremely friendly, which I know is a challenging objective for any type of in house client services, especially in the medical industry. I had dental work done that would make many individuals cringe just thinking about, however Dr. Suzuki clearly knew what he was doing and the procedure was virtually painless. I would highly recommend his services for adults and children (I have 4 year old twins and they want to know when they could go back). Thanks Dr Suzuki and staff for the pleasant experience. I am not usually one to write reviews, my husband does the work. Today the staff at Dr. Suzukis deserves a glowing review from me- personally. I have been a patient of Suzuki's for some time, and I have recommended them to many people. Today, was a little different experience- I actually had to wait. Even felt like I needed to remind them I was there- so I poked my head out of the office and was immediately noticed and helped... I was apologized to immediately, not just by the hygienist and receptionist, but Dr. Suzuki himself apologized. I was not angry at all, but they still made me feel important and taken care of. I told them I was on a time limit today, normally I don't mind chit chatting and taking my time- (the care is great) The staff made sure my teeth were cleaned, exam completed and my next appointment made by the time I needed to leave. Then something else happened- above and beyond- I received a call from the hygienist who had the emergency and had to leave. A personal apology. None of this was needed- again, I had to wait, but just 15 min... and they still made sure I knew my business was appreciated and that was not how they operated. I agree with Whitney S. He spends very little time you feel rushed. I also noticed that his Dental Assistants & Front office staff are frequently changing right when I get used to somebody they are gone. Half of the ladies I had come to know in the photo with him and his staff above are gone I noticed he would talk down to the office staff and I thought to myself if he don't care about his own employees he could care less about his patients.
