This is such an intimate cool spot to listen to some live music. Tables and chairs comfortable and very close to the stage. You can order drinks and food. The price is very reasonable. It is such a hidden gem. I was lucky to experience such talented artists in such small space. It was great.

    steak sandwich

i bought this $12 sandwich and it is TINY. they have definitely gotten cheap over the years. it is truly disappointing.

    Shrimp tacos were good

James and I came here for the board and brew night. A lot of popular board games like Catan, cards against humanity were provided. We love/have a lot of board games and we just got the super fight card games. So we brought that and the resistance to play. The loft was very nice. It's gotten music and plenty of space. There was only one table playing card game. The rest of the people were just eating and hanging out. Later on we joined that group. They were pretty awesome people and the game was fun. However the round tables were a little small for games with 9 players. There was one big glass table in the corner but that was too big. I wish there's some medium size tables. Or maybe some square tables so people can put them together to make bigger table. James got two draft beers. I think they were~$5 each. He said that's good price. We had the fish and shrimp tacos. They were~$6 per order and each order had 3 tacos. They were really tasty. I like the food and the price was good! It was a fun night with fun people.

The Loft is a fantastic lounge on the second floor of the Price Center at UCSD. It is a beautiful, unique, contemporary, creative place to take in a concert. If you get a chance to get here, you have a special opportunity to catch some smaller and less visible musicians in an intimate, up close setting. They build it as a crossroads where emerging art and pop culture collide. This venue is for people who appreciate live music and artistic connections. The max capacity is less than 200 people - and even then, the space is large enough that it does not feel crowded whatsoever. There are some limited seating options available for those wishing to take in a performance and sit back and relax. If you have an opportunity to get to a concert at this venue, you'll be glad you did. Parking is a bit tough here (hey what do you expect, it's a college campus) and you're best off at the nearby Gilman structure. --- If you found this review useful, funny, or cool do me a favor and leave that feedback. I try to make my reviews interesting. Follow me on Yelp and I'll make it worth your while.

Cool venue that gets u up and close with the music. Watched Yacht here a while back and junaflo recently. Beerrrsss are only $6 and they got grubbage if yo hungry.

    Shrimp tacos

Food was really good. I ordered the Angus burger which was pretty tasty. I also tried one of the shrimp tacos and that was also good. This was the first time I have ever been here. I will definitely be back

Two fish tacos and shrimp taco $10

We're in San Diego, where amazing tacos are everywhere. The loft has no excuse for serving tacos like these for $10 - this is willful neglect. I'm giving two stars just for the location.

Great place around campus to grab some quick brews. Loved the staff, even though it was super busy, the bartender was still able to get to me and my group in a reasonable time, serve us, and close our tabs quite efficiently. I definitely would come here more often post class to grab some craft brews. Decently priced, good crafts, fast service, only thing is that the kitchen is a bit slow. The line for the kitchen is even longer so it's really not worth it. But a great bar for post class drinks

There is a ticket fee for all non students. The small arena has a large screen scoreboard that is paired up with a loud sound system for music. It's very entertaining and fun during the breaks. They have a "block party" for every UCSD block and the staff throws free t shirts into the stands. There is one small snack stand for sodas, nachos, pretzels and typical sports food. It was staffed with two people. There is no beer or wine served here so get ready for Gatorade. The arena is a nice volleyball venue where 200-300 spectators watched the game very comfortably. Eh. I've never…read morereally been a fan of seeing shows at Rimac Arena. I mean, when you wanna check out a hot show and you're REALLY excited about it... it's hard to get upset about the venue. You just wanna catch the performance. This was the case last night for the big Flight of the Conchords show at UCSD. Been wanting to see those cats for years, and finally, they brought their tour through San Diego. The show could have been at the Miramar Landfill for all I cared... I just wanted to see the best musical comedy duo since Tenacious D up close and personal, and it happened to be on this particular college campus. The show was great, but I despise the layout of Rimac. It's primarily used to house the UCSD basketball teams (both men and women), and it doubles as a large concert venue for bands and artists with a big draw. Unfortunately, the space yields some terrible acoustics. I don't think shows were necessarily top of mind during construction of this venue, and it's apparent by the vast amount of metal pillars and various other adornments that cause the sound to bounce all over the place. I think they could spend some of that trust fund loot to throw some egg crates on the walls to absorb the sound, but that's just me. You know when you see a show in a gymnasium, and for a moment, you totally forget that you're in some sweaty sports venue? Well, that's not the case here. You're well aware that you're in a basketball arena, for sure. You really have to commend the staff at UCSD for doing so many great things for the students enrolled here, though. Seems like they have a different music festival going on every month (Sungod, for example). However, I just wish they could warm up the arena somehow. It'd be like doing yoga in the middle of Time's Square. Sure, the yoga would awesome... but it'd be really tough to get the full experience because you're in the middle of a bustling intersection. Like that yoga comparison, it's hard to fully get into 'show mode' here. But coming full circle, sometimes you have to make sacrifices to see some of your favorite bands. It's unfortunate that our city doesn't have more 'real' music venues in town for an act of this caliber. Uncomfortable bench seating in a college sports hall hardly does the trick for me.
