I've been to this venue many times for various concerts. I like the space. Its intimate and very easy to view the stage no matter where you're sitting. The only con is that the light/stage control booth is right in the middle of the dance floor and takes up space.

Been here for plenty of shoes. The Loft is connected to Second City. Lots of diverse concerts, bar and acoustics. No food, pay parking & adult cool crowd.

I saw my friend's band play here a few months back and I remember really enjoying myself, and not just because it was cool to watch my buddy rock out in front of a fairly large crowd. The Loft is a fairly small bar/music venue; however, the crowds generally do not exceed the maximum capacity considering they are usually there to support their friend's band, or a friend of a friends band, or a friend of a friend of their aunty's sister's cousin's band. I noticed that most of the individuals in attendance were dressed far more appropriately than I was the night I happened to be hanging out here. They were all wearing their cool rocker t-shirts and torn up jeans, while I on the other hand was wearing a polo shirt and baseball hat backwards. As you probably guessed I felt a little out of my element when I initially walked through the front doors. The bar area looks like it cost the owner a pretty penny, considering the counter tops are made of a polished marble slab material that you usually would only see on shows like MTV cribs. Also, whoever made the decision to fill a good portion of the interior with couches and coffee tables should get a raise, because I thought that was an excellent touch to the interior landscape. The acoustics were rather poor here though. I guess you really can't expect the acoustics to be fantastic when the performance takes place in relatively small area.

I guess these performeers had a cable for Spring Trap April 30, 2017.

Located off of Piedmont Avenue - a one way street, look for the valet sign to pull in on the left. The cafe sits below street level - it's downstairs, like in the basement. But the vibes and energy shout sexy, speakeasy and spot to see new or rising talent. On this visit there wasn't any special guest or talent - it was Open Mic. Sign up and save $10 on the cover at the door. They seat you and servers provide menus for food and drinks. We had the grilled shrimp, others had pizza and light bites. The Texas margaritas were delicious and served strong. The talent was engaging and ranged from poets to singers. Overall, I'd definitely come back and check ahead to see who's performing. Good amount of seating that gives off a family basement kind of vibe. I'll start with the con: the service here was subpar. We sat in the overflow area and there were tables all around us. The two servers that we saw in the area repeatedly NEVER came to our table to greet us or take our order. My boyfriend ended up having to walk himself to the bar to get a drink and order some food for us. Even once the food came I had to flag her down to get another drink. We were not hidden or hard to see, so that was very disappointing. The comedy show was really good. The comedians were fun and funny. Each one's personality was so different and big and we laughed the whole night. Although good service is huge to me, I'd come back and give it another try because overall I really enjoyed the scene.

It wasn't super crowded, plus we got there early, so we were able to go right up to the front. But even if we were further back, it would've still been easy to see. The security, entrance staff, and bartender were all super kind. We could leave and come back, which was nice. It was a bit cold inside the venue so I liked being able to go back to my car for a jacket, which most other venues do not allow. They have a parking garage that ranges from $10-25, which is probably the best bet as parking is limited in this area. Overall, I think this is a great venue. It was clean, easy to grab a drink, and incredible to get so close to the artist performing. It really elevates the performance and whole experience. The building decor and design in itself is a treat--in an artsy and historical style--but the sound system in that hall was on fire! The line outside wasn't terrible, and the staff and security were all very respectful and laid back. No drama. Fair warning, they let me in with my mini-backpack but tossed any snacks I had in it. No biggie! So, if you find yourself touring around Centennial Park and want to catch a show, it's not too hard. The main floor allows for the party to really happen, but only for those who can endure standing for hours at a time as it's standing only. There's a floor level for VIPs, which I bet was totally worth the money. We sat up in the balcony, so we could sit and see it all. Whew! The seats are very snug! I'm only 5'3", and it was a squeeze for my legs. My 6'1" hubby said he was ok, but his legs were open the entire show to fit. On that note, be prepared for LOTS of stairs! Drinks were tasty and made well. My pizza wasn't exceptional in any way, but it was edible for bar food. And really, the bartenders were all friendly and patient. Just a cool night altogether. Great experience for a small-venue show on a date, with girlfriends, or a big group of fans alike! We saw James Blake, and the only issue I had was the bright flashing lights. I had to squint by the end of the show. But it didn't seem to bother the other thousand in the hall.

Center Stage has a really cool atmosphere that works especially well for an event like boxing. It feels intimate enough that you're close to everything happening, but still has the professional feel you want for a major media event. From a media perspective, I appreciated being able to experience the venue on back-to-back days and see how well the space transitioned between Media Day and the weigh-ins. The staff was welcoming and professional, and everything felt organized throughout both visits. With fighters, trainers, promoters, photographers, videographers, media, and guests all moving around, organization can make a huge difference, and the venue handled the activity well. I also really liked the character of the theater itself. It doesn't feel like a generic event space--it has its own personality and creates a great backdrop for photos and video, especially during something as energetic as a boxing weigh-in. One tip I would definitely give anyone planning to visit is to check the parking apps before paying at the kiosks. I was able to find parking for $21 for the entire day through an app, while paying directly through the parking kiosk was $14 for only three hours. If you're going to be at Center Stage for several hours, especially for an event, using a parking app can save you quite a bit of money and keep you from having to worry about your time running out. Being there for the Claressa Shields vs. Kaye Scott Media Day and weigh-ins gave me the opportunity to experience Center Stage Theater in a completely different way, and I came away impressed. Two days, two different events, and a great experience both times. Definitely a venue I would be happy to return to for another boxing, entertainment, or media event.

Although they had this seating, the place still felt intimate and really added to the ambiance of the concert. The live band was decent. Not terrible, but definitely not good enough for me to watch. Then I waited. And waited. Thankfully, I was able to doom scroll TikTok, because my food didn't arrive till 9:52pm- the place closes at 10pm!
