Buffalo medallions with garlic mashed potato's and a red wine "gravy". Green beans.

The bread and honey butter and cheese curd starters were very good. The sauce that came with the curds was like nothing I've hd before. It was good, but they were even better with ranch. The medallions were cooked perfectly and were SO GOOD! My partner enjoyed the Cajun pasta as well. The wine and whiskey sour were great too! Service was excellent, everyone was very attentive, easy to joke with and very pleasant. It was a very casual atmosphere, yet fine dining experience all in one. Definitely a place to try when in Dubois!!

So we stayed at an air bb rental in town and realized that many of the food places are closed on Tuesday in town. This place was open, so we decided to give it a shot since it was the day before we left and did not want to buy any more groceries. I was not sure since I had mixed reviews about not very good service if you were nor a local. I will say that was not the case with our experience at all. I called ahead to see if we needed a reservation, and they said not if we were coming over now and it was just the two of us. We arrived close to 5 pm, and we were seated immediately. Note that it did start filling up closer to 6 pm and was just about full by 630. The staff was informative, gave suggestions, and was friendly and attentive. We did poutine fries that were really good. The fries were super crispy, and the gravy provided the salt. We had eaten elsewhere previously, and they salted the fries and then put salted gravy, and it was not good, so we appreciated the restraint here. We also had the deep-fried Brussel sprouts with goat cheese, and this was super good. The mashed potatoes and gravy were good ok the bison plate, but I found the bison to be way under seasoned and screaming for salt and pepper. The bison was cooked perfectly med rare as requested, so that was a plus, and we just added salt and pepper from the table. I thought the gravy was the same on the poutine fries and would provide the extra salt, but it was not. We did order the peach cobbler, and it was served in a very hot skillet with ice cream. However, it was ice cold on the inside, which was a bummer - the flavor was good for canned peaches. Overall, it was a pretty decent meal and a fun ambiance with animal heads mounted all over the walls (vegan animal lover warning - not the place for you). If I was back in this very small town, I would go back for a good meal and friendly service

Good space. Not crowded but filled up quickly

Delightful evening with my Sweetie after long day. Pork cordon Bleu moist & flavorful. Service attentive without being overbearing. Not busy when we were there but filled up quickly. Will recommend & hope to return.

The place was wonderful! Nice atmosphere, clean, tables were sufficiently far apart. Even though we were fully vaccinated against COVID, it made us feel quite safe. Our server was Chevelle and she was very much on the ball, making sure our food came exactly at the right time. She was a great experience. The food itself was superb! We had fried calamari and it was cooked perfectly, as were the steaks. Our dinner salad was very fresh and very tasty. The wine list was nice and varied though not extensive. Still one could find a good pairing with the food. Great good and superb service for very reasonable prices. I can highly recommend this place.

Excellent food and service. I had the ribeye and it was pretty much perfectly done and the Brussel sprouts were delicious!!!

Alright so here in Dubois WY visiting the National Park. Not a whole lot of dining options in Dubois. That being said I've come here twice so far and I haven't even been here a whole week. The Lone Buffalo Steakhouse has been fantastic each time we've come. Their drinks are very good, my pick is the whiskey sour, very good and they don't skimp on cheap cherries either. Service has been great both times and everything has come out quickly. First time I had the pork chop, best pork chop ever! And the mashed potatoes are really good also. My girlfriend had the ny strip, it had good flavor but was a little thin for me, I would take the pork chop over the steak. Don't get me wrong steak was good, but pork chop was amazing! Also tried their seafood pasta (yeah I know, seafood pasta in Wyoming at a steak house, I was tired of meat) I was pleasantly surprised, really good! The shrimp were fresh and huge. Pasta was fresh, everything was on point. Even their dinner salad that comes with each meal is really good, only complaint I have is the plate they serve it on could be bigger. I feel like I'm playing operation trying not to spill salad on the table. Overall excellent experience both times, not cheap, but I left feeling I got my monies worth.

    Bagged microwave veggies

Service is SLOW! Ambiance is close tables, loud music, NO romance! Steak was mediocre the veggies were STRAIGHT out of the bag! Disgusting! See pics. My opinion- DO NOT GO! Spend your money elsewhere!!

    Crisp/Fresh greens to start

FANTASTIC FOOD and SERVICE! Me and my husband were on our way home from the Sturgis rally and stopped for the night in Dubois. Thinking about dinner we stumbled upon this place and knew right away we couldn't pass up having dinner here. During this COVID time it was refreshing to be welcomed in and treated with the utmost respect, mask or no mask. Thank you Lone Buffalo, we will be back!

Lovely overloaded salad (even had beet slivers on top!)

After last night, I was ready to leave a fabulous review of this restaurant...the food was great, the wine selections by the bottle were fantastic and my server Angela was super attentive, professional and overall provided excellent service. The experience was so great, that I made a reservation to come here AGAIN tonight. After arriving and sitting at the table for 10 minutes, a waiter that was not responsible for my table, stopped by to give me some water and said my server would be there "momentarily" (I was indeed very grateful he stopped by even though I wasn't in his section!) After a few more minutes I seriously considered walking out, and eating elsewhere. When she did finally arrive, I got the impression (and maybe I was completely wrong) that this particular sever doesn't value "single" customers so much...maybe we arent deemed worthy of the time and effort - as there is only one person ordering food and drink. The previous night, I happened to order and enjoy the most expensive bottle on the menu and a 12 oz ribeye - and would argue my $200 tab was higher than most couples around me. After this perceived apathy toward my "table of one", I decided to go smaller and have wine by the glass and a pasta. The table next to me (that ordered the same dish as I did from the same server) received a salad that was piled high with the goodness I received the night before...mine barely covered the plate (see previous reviewer talking about playing "operation" trying to eat the salad there! )The pasta was brought out before I was done with the salad - thankfully the bolognese was actually pretty damn good. All in all, the server may have swept by to check on me once or twice - even then, it was while she was still in motion on her way to another table. To summarize: if you look at my other reviews, you will see that I tend to praise the restaurants and service that are deserving of it ...I am not a complainer. I do believe however that the experience to be had here, is highly dependent upon the server you have. Given the opportunity, ask for Angela The hostess was polite, hard working and professional as well. Overall (with exception of the experiment tonight) I would honestly recommend this restaurant. Would also strongly suggest to make a reservation beforehand.

Over priced for mediocre quality. Pasta is cooked early and is reheated. Service is good. A bit noisy.

A thoroughly enjoyable evening and dinner…read more Possibly the best ribeye I've had in the past 10 years, but the other "foam and powder"aspects of the dish were just silly. The so called General Tso steak sauce was like a thimbleful smear and completely irrelevant. BBQ Ramen seasoning? Not even enough to get a taste profile of it. The trout with a green curry sauce was good but again, ummmm.... Trout has a subtle flavor. Green curry coconut sauce, and stuffed with another type of Asian something something....might as just as well better to use a neutral tasting fish like a better quality tilapia imho. Let trout taste like trout. Use a different, neutral tasting fish for these kinds of sauces and fillings. Well at least it wasn't covered with a garnish of micro greens lol. Just a little cilantro heh heh heh. I mean don't get me wrong. Both entrees were okay. But a waste of quality fish when a less costly fish would have been fine what with all those other flavors. And the foam and powder embellishments on the steak were barely noticeable. The whole menu reads like a community college cooking school graduate little bit of this little bit of that. When I get home I'm going to have fun writing the different components of all the menu items on index cards, shuffle, and see what combinations come up each time. And I love the idea of a General Tso steak sauce and want to try creating one. And using a packet of Ramen seasoning instead of Cajun seasoning sounds like a fun thing to try. I just won't do it on a fifty dollar piece of meat. If you are counting calories you skip the gross doughnut hole dessert. Dense ball of dough. Gummy. Like they used a cake doughnut recipe instead of a yeast doughnut or beignet recipe. But if not counting calories , go for it. It's fun to try the sauces, even if not that great a doughnut. Great, festive, lively ambiance . Super friendly staff and service.

With so many strong restaurants in Jackson, this one didn't stand out as one we would revisit…read more Our server was lovely--friendly, attentive, and clearly doing their best. Unfortunately, the bar was painfully slow. Our first round of drinks took about 15 minutes, and the second took closer to 30 minutes after ordering. We eventually had to check in to make sure they were even coming. The food was fine, but not something we'd come back for. The elk pasta lacked the depth and richness you expect from a bolognese. The trout--poblano stuffed and curry-prepared--was an interesting idea, but the curry completely overpowered the fish, making the dish feel unbalanced. We had curry-dusted trout at The Blue Lion earlier in the week that was far better. (One of the best trout meals I've ever had.)
