The three of us have been biking across the country and stayed at the Trails End motel next door and came here for breakfast. We had great service and the owner was so attentive and sweet. Food was great and definitely filling. My boyfriend's sister and I had the hotcakes and bacon. My boyfriend had two hotcakes and hash browns. The hash browns were soo crispy, as were the bacon, and the hotcakes were light and fluffy. It was a great bang for our buck. We also loved the big glass display of donuts for sale behind the register. We all had to pick one up on our way out. Very friendly place!

Came here because all restaurants were closed on a random Wednesday. Food was blah. Vibe was so quiet it was uncomfortable.

He got the White House (cherry & marshmallow) and I went simple with Strawberry. It was perfect and hit the spot. While eating our ice cream, we could help but want to try some donuts to take with us. So we grabbed some maple cake, a custard, apple fritter and a couple sprinkle donuts to go. The next morning with the family, nobody complained about the donuts but nobody raved about them either. The maple cake was the best, but the donut itself just wasn't fluffy or moist like other cake donuts. There was just something missing. The custard donut was nice and would be comparable to other great donut shops I have visited. I really think a donut reboot would bring this place to a whole new level and easily would gain them that extra star.

We tried the huckleberry donut, old fashioned cake donut, and French cruller - everything was way too sweet. The ube latte barely had any ube flavor and tasted like sweetened milk. It was relatively easy to find street parking nearby.

I have been past this establishment many times have never been until today. When I walked in the store was clean and bright but nobody greeted me. I was extremely surprised that a single bread roll costs $4 like I understand this is Jackson but that is just robbery. My pastry was also dry and there was nothing special about it. Even at the cash register nobody asked me how my day was going they just said "is that it? We were in Jackson for 4 days and we found ourselves in The Bread Basket 3 times. It's a Mexican bakery and we tried just about everything in the cases. We bought a bunch to take home with us and share too. Everything was so delicious. My favorite was the flakey pastry with spiced apple filling. They don't skimp on the filling! It was perfect. We also brought home a bunch of tamales, oh my gosh, they are sooo good try the Salsa Verde con Pollo. Spicy deliciousness. Because everything in the national parks were closed, if you're going to be in the park all day you must bring your own food. We ordered their sandwiches for one of our Yellowstone trips. (BTW Yellowstone was virtually empty of people, see my review for Yellowstone for more info). The sandwiches were gourmet wonderful. I ordered the turkey with pesto, brie and dried cranberries on a fresh ciabatta type bread. Perfect. The staff is friendly, the shop is clean.

Flat white was ok but they use dark roast (at 99% of coffee shops they use a medium roast)for all of their espresso drinks and I personally do not like my coffee tasting burnt. 1/5 Cinnamon brioche bun was decent. Most of the time they're referred to as a morning bun and they have hints of orange. 3/5 Now for the beans that I bought. I got home and opened them to see that they were very shiny (that means that they are a darker roast because the natural oils come out of the beans the longer you roast them). They are marked as a light roast and they are far from it. The roast date isn't on them either and that should have been my red flag. 0/5 Below is the Ethiopia light roast from SRRC next to the CC Java Estate that I just bought, for reference.

Make sure to clarify when ordering this as we were confused and never heard of it before. The salmon cream didn't have a strong flavor, maybe the cream cheese was pretty overpowering.
