Reservations are not taken, instead you will find the host making people scoot to make room for new arrivals at the long tables. Our servers were spot-on with service, drinks and sharing her favorites. It is cozy and casual, people meeting people. The spirits here are for the pros with knowledge of wine, beer, spirits and bubbles. We started with the wild mushroom mozzarella with balsalmic butter, parmesan and balsalmic glaze served on crunchy baguettes. It was unbelievably flavored and tasty, a great start to the night and must have! The Spanish salad with arugula, apple, fennel, almonds, manchego and a honey-sherry vinegarette was good but not on par with the other dishes. The tuna crudo with cucumber, arugula, crunchy grains, orange wedges, citrous vinegarette, fried capers and preserved lemon was light, a real palate cleanser, and refreshing. A pleasant surprise and would order again. The lamb pintxos was our final selection and a great dish to end the night on. The fork tender lamb tenderloin was served on 2 skewers with mojo verde, Spanish aoili, and pickled red onions on crisp baguette slices. Another Homerun! I asked for mine medium and another asked for medium well. Both were slightly under which was good. Presentation was excellent they did change from sweet potatoes to a couscous ( I think) which was a good switch and tasty. My spouse had the rainbow trout and it was amazing! It a good size, as again presentation was great! Tasted good too! Not dry. Another person had the truffle pasta and there was a poached egg on top. What a surprise! They said it tasted good! They serve fresh bread with butter spread before your entree and it is so, so lovely! I ended up getting one of their appetizer salads with fresh fruit on a bed of roast veg, and I got two drinks - the "Rose French 75" ($16 - has alcohol) and "the inversion" ($11 - mocktail version of the "Jackson fog" cocktail). I can genuinely say both drinks but particularly the inversion were two of the best drinks I've had; the flavor was perfectly sweet, just a bit floral, and distinct from any other drink I've had (which is something I love to experience!). They paired great with the salad and the bread. They were also sweet enough I didn't even need dessert (although the huckleberry cheesecake and the bread pudding were tempting). The spicy rigatoni was definitely spicy, but I could not stop eating it! The restaurant is a little on the outskirts of the main town, but it's perfect for enjoying a night there. You can walk around, shop, and then enjoy a delicious meal!
