What a surprise gem, I was in Oak Hill with my dog and getting a bit hungry so I googled restaurants with outdoor dog friendly seating. The lost paddle popped up. I had no idea it was located next to a recreational area. Great deck and fast service. The waitress was awesome and even made my dog a plain grilled chicken breast. I had the wrap which was awesome. Some nights, they are very busy and shortstaffed, it takes a little while to get a drink, but other than there the service is usually good. The entertainment has always been good, and so has the food. They have a stage, a dancing area, different types of game nights, indoor seating, and a large parking lot from where they are part of the resort. read more

My boyfriend order the Appalachian steak sandwich, which he really enjoyed; he just wished there was a little more sauce. Our friend order the Cuban. He said it was okay. I ordered the street corn pizza and let me tell you... to die for!!! So so good. Very flavorful and cooked just right. The service was excellent. I'm very thankful to the waitress because we got there 5 minutes after the kitchen had already closed, and she still took our order. Love the hospitality. The drinks were good too. Bigfoot's Revenge!!!! We had dinner here last night as a group of 9 people. We arrived and sat down and immediately recognized service would be slow. There appeared to only be two waiters for the entire place, but we weren't in a hurry so that was fine. Our drinks took almost 20 minutes and were mostly ok...although the Tito's and Tonic was not right at all. Tasted liked super cheap vodka and water. Was hard to get refills on anything, but we understood how busy our waitress was! Appetizers were fine - no complaints. Dinners arrived and were as ordered! The salads were ok, trout was said to be very good and 2 people had the "Bigfoot sandwich". This is where it goes really wrong. We paid our bill and left knowing it was a sub average experience...but nothing we would truly complain about - until 2 people in our group experienced severe stomach distress and diarrhea the same night. Coincidentally they ate the same sandwich...the Bigfoot. Having 2 people in our group get sick was the clincher for this review. We are a group of individuals who happen to own a restaurant. We are SO forgiving of the issues of being short staffed and things taking longer. But with that being said if you compromise our health with poor quality food we WILL feel compelled to leave a review. There is a lot of improvement that could happen here, but most importantly only serve safe food to your customers! read more

We've been to Lost Paddle several times and tried both their lunch and dinner. I agree with the other reviews saying service is a little slow, but the dinner was pretty impressive. We tried the moonshine BBQ sliders, cheesy fries, fried pickles, chicken tenders, and chicken wings (Asian/honey sauce half and half) for lunch - all pretty typical, nothing too special or notable. Our server was friendly. Dinner was great - I'd recommend the rainbow trout with green beans on the side. This was super yummy and perfect after a long afternoon at the water park outside. The chocolate cake was also delicious. It came with 2 slices per order and was the perfect end to the meal. Our server was nice, although she was busy juggling take out orders and our table - expect a longer wait toward the end of the night. Overall a great restaurant, and a good option for dinner after an ACE excursion. read more

The pizza at Woody's Smokehouse, adjacent to The Lost Paddle is amazing. They uniquely make their pizzas using a sourdough starter which adds amazing flavor and consistency. The workers are incredibly nice, and if you ever find yourself at ACE Adventure Resort, it's definitely a place you need to stop. read more

Following two events hosted at this establishment in an effort to increase our brand awareness, it has been decided that we will not be returning both by ourselves and the venue. We encountered challenges when attempting to reschedule an event due to a shipment delay, As the establishment refused to accommodate our request. We arrived 15 min late due to being at FedEx in an attempt to get the package that was causing the issue and being in constant contact the entire time. Despite this setback, our guests enjoyed the event, only to later learn that they did not want to compensate us for our services. It was stated that we would receive a check via mail to accommodate us for a partial amount of our fee but that has yet to be seen and still not the total cost. The venue makes a killing on these events as we only charged a small fee per kit for us to come and assist the class with the build that then the venue marks up by double making more than we even make teaching the class and traveling over an hour after it's all said and done plus the revenue they receive from drinks and food that we encourage everyone to order. When pressing for a payment before we left all we were confronted with is I have lawyers I will sue for breach of contract. We agreed and signed up to provide 20 kits and provided 18 of those with happy and smiling customers before our truck was delayed and we expect to be paid for those kits and services. Understandably, this led to frustration and a regrettable exchange. It is with this in mind that we advise caution when considering working with this establishment or attending their events. Not sure who manages the venue but I would look into training your staff. This isn't the first issue that has happened here I mean the reviews speak for themselves. We believe it important to prioritize the value of your time, products, and overall well-being. This decision is rooted in our commitment to maintaining the highest standards for our brand and our partners. I also want to add that of all the places we have hosted events for the past 3 years never have we been treated so rudely and unprofessional. We came here to take part in the white water rafting activities that they offer. This eatery is on the property which was convenient, especially because we were so hungry after we were done rafting. They serve generous portions. Although the wait staff was really busy, they provided great service. read more

We enjoyed a great day of whitewater rafting, with a group of 9 people. We called ahead to get a table, and requested it to have it with the playoff MLB game on... done. We had not expected to have an awesome Buffet, with salad, various meats, chicken, fish, potatoes, vegetables, and desert!! Food and Service was great! We will be back! read more

This restaurant is on the Ace Adventures Resort property. We were frequents here while we stayed on the property in a cabin. There were 5 of us and a table was always available. We had two different pizzas, nachos, hummus, fried pickles, cheese sticks, French fries, the Ace salad, onion rings, Italian panini, grilled chicken sandwich, and the Philly cheesesteak. We had no complaints about any of the foods we tried and you can see we tried A LOT! Not to mention multiple IPA's and mixed cocktails. The servers were always accommodating and stayed on top of our needs. Very casual atmosphere and last night the live band 18 Strings was there and they were awesome. Recommend this restaurant and so glad they were great seeing as we were kind of in the middle of nowhere. read more

Though this place is visually pleasing, the service was not impressive. We had to wait 15 minutes for our beverages and an additional 25 minutes for our food. We ordered medium rare burgers and they came out very well done. Would definitely recommend the French fries and ranch though! read more

this bar and grill sucks to say the least. my fiancé and i came to the ace resort looking for drinks and a fun day on the lake. we got poor service and no food. we ordered onion rings as an appetizer and no one came back to check on us and see if we wanted more drinks or to order an entree and we were sitting at the bar. i finally asked the manager if we could close our tab after no service for 30 minutes and it wasn't even busy. he ignored me after asking twice. he was definitely on drugs as well. they had our card on tab so we just left and they said nothing. read more
