I would not recommend this venue to future couples looking for a smooth and supportive wedding planning experience. From the start, the process was frustrating. During the construction phase, the owner was overly protective of the property, reluctant to answer questions, and yet pushed hard for a quick deposit. Communication was a major issue throughout, especially after a new coordinator was hired. They did not communicate with each other, leading to confusion -- including a scheduled tour where the new coordinator arrived late and the owner seemed unaware we were even expected. Her attitude was brash and unapologetic. Our wedding planner, who was on site with us, was even shocked about the owner's attitude.
The venue itself is under-equipped for the number of guests it claims to accommodate. There weren't enough tables, chairs, or high-top tables, which made planning difficult. We had to rent more items elsewhere. Our wedding took place the day after a winter storm, and the facility was unprepared. While some areas were covered with tarps to avoid shoveling, the main gathering areas -- including the bridal suites and a common area with a fireplace -- were left icy and unsafe. When we raised concerns, we were told they wouldn't address the snow or ice and didn't seem concerned about liability since we were required to purchase our own event insurance.
To make matters worse, the fireplace didn't work, and we were charged extra to use the heat lamps (which were on-site and talked about in the initial tour, not mentioning they were an extra fee) -- and they were not turned on until payment was received.
The venue is located in a remote area, surrounded by mobile homes, and unfortunately, the lack of professionalism and care from ownership overshadowed what should have been a joyful event. For a day as meaningful as a wedding, I would recommend seeking a venue with more reliable management and basic hospitality. read more
