For a long time, 10%, 15%, and 20% were the normal benchmarks for service. Pushing a 20% minimum for a "decent" meal is a massive overreach. I enjoyed the meal for what it was, but I can't support a business model that tries to normalize 30% tips. We need to get back to a reality where tipping is a voluntary reward for great service, not an aggressive tax on the consumer to cover lack of pay by restaurant owners.
