Pulling up to a packed parking lot!
    Michelle R.

I'm not sure I'm doing myself a favor by telling you how good the food is here! LOL We arrived about 4:30pm on Friday and already found a church group from Muscle Shoals (party of 12) and another group of 7 ahead of us by the time we got there (they had opened up 30 minutes earlier). When you pull up to Reeder Road you see a sign for the restaurant. Google maps told us the wrong place to stop. We had to go further down the road past a bunch of cute place houses for children and small sheds. At the end of the road it opened up into the parking area for the restaurant. It was packed with cars and a bus! There were a group of people waiting outside to be seated. You must go up and inside to the register up front to give the hostess your name and the number of people in your party when you get there. THEN you can sit and chat with the locals. I lived in Huntsville for many years so I'm considered local even though it's been about a decade since I've been home from out west. We sat and waited for about 45 minutes before we were called with another party that also happened to be there celebrating a birthday. We got in and went to the buffet. On Friday nights they have a seafood buffet. All I can say is... It was AMAZING! I ate until I was about to pop! The food was SO good! Even the "worst" were average while the best items were some of the best food I've eaten anywhere (which is saying a lot as I've been all over the US)! Some highlights were the chicken wings (I don't know what seasoning they used but they were AMAZING), ham (delicious and juicy), lima beans (I don't even like then but those were good!), blackeye peas, green beans, fried okra, cream corn (homemade), mashed potatoes (homemade), fried fish, fried clams, hush puppies (no onion in them but they were still amazing), seafood stuffed mushrooms (so good it took us a bit to even get some to try!), shrimp cooked in garlic butter sauce, tarter sauce (homemade), vanilla ice cream (homemade in bucket churn with ice and salt), coconut cake (homemade like Nana's), peanut butter delight (think dessert pudding that tastes like the inside of a buckeye that's been thinned out a bit to pudding consistency), brownie (homemade), and fresh tea. Even the average tasting food: mac and cheese, chicken tenders, grits (cheese and ham flavor), and their biscuits and cornbread were still good. For a TINY restaurant, in the middle of nowhere, run by a group of lovely Mennonites you couldn't ask for a better meal. With the price being about $14 per adult I know we will be back before we leave the area!

don't just stand there and be hungry come on in and get fed up

A quaint little off the main track country buffet featuring home style, absolutely delicious eats. The place is REALLY clean and the staff is helpful and friendly. I sampled ham, country steak (with white gravy) various casseroles, veggies and several deserts. Everything (with the exception of chicken livers which were dried out) was delicious. I am sure I'll go back at some point!

I highly enjoyed the buffet style when we were in a covid free environment, the staff were not wearing marsk. but they did take some precautions hand sanitizer or gloves but I would of felt alot safer if they had one person working each side off the buffet and you just tell them what you want and they serve it for you. This is all beside the point, the food was warm not hot unless they brought it out fresh. What I did have, had lots of flavor like the fried chicken wings, pot roast and the mash potatoes with gravy all were on point. The chicken wings were finger licking, lol. Their Amish homemade bread was sweet, light and fluffy almost melted in your mouth. It would make amazing French bread or bread pudding also. The fried okra and cornnuts where also very good when fresh. The cream corn was not sweet enough, and the mac and cheese was to sweet and were my least favorite things so that's not too bad.

    Simple inviting atmosphere

My first time at Gabriella's was recently. This place gets really busy..... fast! When I arrived,…read more there were about 2 ppl already present and ordering at the hot bar. It's kind of hard to tell what all the food options are, so I had to ask what some stuff was. I managed to get a meat and 2 instead of a meat and 5! There were quite a few veggie options that looked amazingly delicious! I do not recommend coming here hungry or hangry. Ok, sooo I love meat loaf so naturally that's what I got. I also got collards and cornbread dressing & yes they had cranberry sauce. Everything was good tasting. The meatloaf was a little sweet to my taste so I probably wouldn't order it again. The veggies were not over seasoned or overcooked. I will definitely comeback here bc there is still just so much I wanna try. The staff is nice and took care of the crowd. I even witnessed them give a person in need food, as they were about to dig in the restaurant's garbage can outside for scraps. Made me count my blessings.. all of them! There is street parking only. I didn't have any issues parking on a Sunday afternoon. The inside of this restaurant is not big but I was comfortable dining in.

Good southern food on a Sunday afternoon while visiting. Couldn't tell from the Yelp pictures but…read moreit's a really small restaurant with food displayed buffet style behind the clear partition that they serve you in a container. Only about 3 people at a time can hold inside before it's starts getting crowded. It stay pretty busy. Options are 1 meat with two sides or 2 meats with three sides combination. A la cart is available as well. They have ice tea or lemonade drinks in a cup that they also serve you. Lemonade was good. There's a very small counter to pay after you order. Fry chicken is tasty with perfect crisp. Collard greens were seasoned well and perfect texture. Yams (my favorite) was perfect - flavorful, not too sweet and firm but not hard. Both of us thought the Black eyed peas looked really good but taste bland. I would have preferred it without the Okra. I didn't see that when I ordered. One in our group commented the meat loaf was good. The dressing was really good too - well seasoned and tasty. After paying there's a dining area for self seating. It serves the purpose to sit and eat but definitely could use sprucing up along with the restrooms. Please seriously consider! It would make the experience much more pleasant to enjoy their delicious food. I took off two stars for that reason and yes it's that unpleasant as the tables/chairs are also too clustered together. The chairs don't fit around the table properly. Overall good southern food at a reasonable price and recommended. Skip dining in if you don't have too. Just my two cents.

Started with fried chicken, Mac and cheese, fries, green beans and a grilled pork chop. The fries just came out when I was there but they were cold and soggy. Fried chicken was ok, Mac and cheese was missing a cheese with flavor. Beans and pork chop were edible but not as tasty as they should have been. Went back to try the catfish, wish I hadn't. Was cold, slightly undercooked and had no flavor at all. Thanks for tartar sauce for flavor. Had the carrot cake which turned out to be the best part of the meal. The restaurant was clean, staff friendly but the food was underwhelming.

I don't like leaving low ratings; I understand that it is someones livelihood. That being said,…read morethe food here is not good. Me and two coworkers went here for lunch to mix it up and try something new. When we walked in, the hostess rang us up as a party even though the first guy said he just wanted to pay for himself; whatever, we sorted it out among ourselves later. There is a buffet that serves southern food. Fried chicken, fried catfish, baked chicken, spaghetti, liver, dressing, mashed potatoes etc. Also offer a salad bar. The food was criminally underseasoned. Everything needed salt - I'm not sure if they keep it saltless to cater to the older people who make up the majority of their customers or what. Tried a lot of stuff looking for good food and I didn't find much. Fried chicken had too much breading, the breading tasted unseasoned. Dressing was very dry and had a consistency of cornmeal, you touched dit and it broke apart. Mashed potatoes were definitely instant mashed potatoes and not a good brand. Spaghetti sauce had a little meat in it, but tasted like stewed tomatoes. Cornbread was dry and unsweetened. Roll was OK. Green beans casserole was good. Coworker said liver and boiled cabbage was good, said catfish was bad and "none of it was great". Salad bar looked fresh. Another coworker had asked us to bring her back some dessert: when I sent her a picture of the desert bar, she changed her mind. They serve Pepsi products and offer sweet tea. Waitress was nice and we had pretty decent service. Buffet area was kept clean and stocked at all times. Would not return.
