    Marmalade bread pudding

The Mad Bishop and Bear is located on the 3rd floor of Paddington Station. In an effort to have a drink or snack in each neighborhood we visited this day, we decided to stop in. It looks like any other pub, but it's pretty spacious. I ordered a pink gin with a ginger beer and was served Tanqueray instead. I like Tanqueray just fine, but it wasn't what I had ordered. I also ordered a shot of Jüst Gin with dill as I was interested to try it. The bartender quickly glanced behind him and told me that they were out of it. After I paid and he was finishing up our drinks, I noticed it on the shelf behind him. I didn't want to press the issue, but good grief. They had also told my brother they were out of the first 2 scotches he tried to order. Were they, or did he just not feel like looking? Hard to say. Under the influence of being at Paddington station, we ordered the Marmalade bread and butter pudding as well. It was completely mediocre. I was expecting it to be orangey and sweet, but it really didn't have much flavor at all. Overall, this was a perfectly fine way to satisfy our quest, but it's certainly not worth a special trip.

Simple enough to stop in and grab a bite , the QR code access is simple and direct although a few menu items did not show up . London is expensive no matter where you go , this is no different .

Great service and beer on tap !! Kelly was excellent on our last night in London. She made great recommendations on Steak and Ale pie which was delicious !! Do yourself a favor and for dessert have the hot fudge brownie and caramel ice cream

this place definitely has the ambience! great place to hang while you are waiting on your train.. also a good destination place after you check out the animal statues at Paddington station. the bar keep was cool.. generous with the brew samples. I found a Founders pale ale that i fell in love with!! the only negative mark is the small plate sizes. relative to the price

Great atmosphere and fast but friendly service for a quick, or leisurely, bite at Paddington Station! The Eggs Benedict will not disappoint.

All too often, a pub within a railway station conjures up one word - AVOID! The Mad Bishop & Bear, happily, bucks this trend. It's quite palatial yet, through clever design, you can find a cosy nook to enjoy a pint or catch up with a friend over a tasty meal. It's a Fuller's house so the beer is reliable (at the time of writing, the pub was in Camra's Good Beer Guide) and the food is cooked to order. Table service was friendly. If you're catching a train or waiting to meet someone travelling by train, you can check departures and arrivals on display screens within the pub. A big plus is that they have toilets too. You can even sit outside the bar if you want to enjoy the buzz of a busy railway station.

Busy pub located in Paddington train station. It can get busy in here but there are plenty of stools and chairs to go around. The staff is friendly and pretty quick. They offer a sampler set where you get to choose 3 different 1/3 pints for the price of 1 pint. You get the chance to try different beers on tap.

    Quite nice fish and chips

£15 for fish & chips and a pint of bitter. Beer was good, fish quite average (not bad though!) and chips were clearly better than average. Quite massive pub with Clean interior. Good selection of different beers, in addition to the normal Fuller's there were a bunch of guest beers available. Noted too late their offer for "ale flight" sampler offer. For a station pub it's not overcrowded as such, probably the location somewhat off and above the main crowds help. Still very convenient for anybody traveling with train. Would I return? Certainly one of the best railway station pubs I've encountered, so yes for sure

    Squash n leeks ! Delicious

Nice and cozy pub in Paddington. Good place to kill time while waiting for your train. We had a good one gap and stopped there for dinner. It was nice and quick service. They had alot of vegiterian and healthy options. I got the squash stuffed with leeks and cheese and it was delicious and light. My boyfriend got the bangers n mash and they were delicious as well. This pub is massive and always busy but somehow we always find a seat!

We specifically came to try fish and chips, so we were lucky that The Mall Tavern was nearby. Each of us ordered fish and chips, and all of our plates were left nearly empty. My goodness, I have never had better fish and chips than here at The Mall Tavern. The fish was crispy, and the chips were perfectly salted to taste. I appreciate that chips in England are more like potato wedges than classic American french fries. Way less fried and way less salty, so you can enjoy the actual taste of the potatoes! I also ordered a side of Mac and cheese that we all shared. I don't know what kind of cheese(s) was used, but it was the perfect starter to our meal. For dessert, we had the sticky toffee pudding for the first time. It was hard not to order another one!! We came in for late lunch, so the restaurant was empty. I assume they are much busier at lunch and dinner time. I also enjoyed the selection of beer while we waited for our food to come out. Next time I'm in London, I'm returning here immediately.

This restaurant was absolutely amazing from start to finish. I ordered the beef roast, and we also shared a side of the creamy cauliflower, which was to die for. I truly cannot sing the praises of this restaurant enough. The service was personable and welcoming, making it easy and comfortable to ask questions and try new things. One of the managers (apologies I don't know her name) checked in on us several times and even encouraged a few of us to try additional menu items. The food came out quickly, and once it arrived, the table went completely silent because we were all too busy enjoying every bite. I highly, highly recommend this spot to anyone visiting London and even the locals. A solid 10/10 experience!

One eventually came to our table after sitting awhile. I of course had to try the fish n chips. A couple of veggie burgers were ordered and a regular burger. Surprisingly happy hour was still on at 8 o'clock so drinks were ordered. The food all came at the same time and everything was cool. The fish had a nice flavor from the fried batter. To me it was similar to Long John Silvers as far as the batter is concerned, but slightly better quality overall. The fries were standard. The only thing horrible was the very bland mashed green peas. They should be omitted from every pub across the country, but I think it is a traditional item included with the fish. The cocktails were good as well as the price. The sticky toffee pudding was something else I was advised to try while in London. I must admit it was really delicious. It came with a scoop of ginger ice cream and a warm buttery toffee sauce to pour over. It was delightfully warm and sweet and paired well with the ice cream. The cake itself was moist enough on its own with notes of brown sugar and molasses. I could have had seconds and thirds of this desert. Yum! The majority of my party didn't think the food was fantastic. The burgers happened to be somewhat alright. This was a first for me having pub food and I would have more again as long as I stick to the basics.
