We have several workspaces in The Burg and every place advised me to look at them all and then, choose the place where I liked the VIBE. It was good advice. And, I went with Thrive. Though I thought it would be short term, I ended up staying. I found that after years of working at home, I liked being in an office atmosphere with other people. Everything I needed to "thrive" in a business was provided and quite a few extras (a meditation room, shower, zoom room, and podcast studio.) Over time, I have met a lot of people, attended special events, and even feel more connected to the community beyond our walls. The GreenHouse Million Cups on Wednesday mornings is right around the corner from Thrive. AVOID-AVOID! This…read moreplace will nickel and dime you left and right. It first started with check in. Most hotels c resorts and places do not charge you $50 to checkin 2 hours early. Since we were arriving before 4 I was like sure let's get to our room early. We got checked between 2:30 & 3pm, cost us $50 extra, plus tax. Fast forward to our room. It was fine, but the deadbolt wouldn't lock. Maintenance quickly came and said it's due to people flipped the deadbolt out and then letting the door slam on it so it won't lock. He got it working. Day two while gone housekeeping stopped by and messed up the deadbolt. It's their own staff doing it, not solely guests. So as a HUGE safety issue, we couldn't get our deadbolt fixed night two. Again, huge safety concern. Like to have a drink by the pool? Good luck! This place is terrible. Per their rules: You may NOT bring a cooler to the pool. You may NOT bring outside alcoholic beverages to the pool. They do NOT have pool service nor a pool bar for drinks. You must dry off, go up to the second floor to the receptionist, and buy their $8 beer, then go back downstairs to the pool area. (NOT KIDDING) Their mini golf course is not a course, it's 4 holes. They have 32 lounge chairs and only 5 umbrellas. Pool closes at 9 although they had a sign posted it was closed due to sanitation issues. Although people got in, we didn't because of the sign. So that was unavailable for the two days we were there. Housekeeping is sloppy. Thrown towels on the counter. Towels frayed. The place sleeps more than two as we had two bedrooms, but they will charge you $20 per extra adult. Parking is limited but they still charge you extra if you park more than one car. They include a resort fee and this place is FAR FROM A RESORT! They just want to nickel and dime you. From a safety standpoint, don't stay here. From not able to enjoy your own adult beverages by the pool, don't stay here. From no pool or bar service, don't stay here. From the room allowing more than two adults to sleep there but they charge you for more than two adults, don't stay here. From checking in two hours early and charging $50, don't stay here. I'll admit, the folks at the front desk are nice. But they don't set the rules to nickel and dime guests on everything. Do yourself a favor, AVOID THIS PLACE!

The nice thing about this little cafe is that it has a great selection and variety of healthy foods. They have a salad bar, a sandwich station where a sandwich artist creates a delicious, fresh sandwich for you. There is also a hot bar and I believe a pizza bar. There are a couple soup options as well. They offered sushi and fruit and chips and plenty of drink options. All prices were affordable. Staff was polite and quick. I would recommend grabbing a bite here if you are on campus.

The research symposium and Science Fest both take place here. The food is what you would expect from a cafeteria. Options are limited and not corporate franchises like in Tampa. There is a help desk around the corner with some very knowledgeable and helpful people. Overall, a nice place to grab a bite between classes or just play some basketball.

My excitement faded to disappointment when after months of going for private lessons I was mostly sitting while the more popular ladies, (the ones who compete and pay them the most money) got asked to dance over and over again. They had two dances where the ladies lined up and the men danced them around and then went to dance with the next in line. My own dance teacher was asking other ladies to dance, and passing me by most of the evening. I always left early and feeling rejected. I haven't danced in a year and a half and dearly miss the joy of learning and making new friends. Obviously, there is no MAGIC for me here.

My family was cruising the streets of St. Pete while I waited in line for some boozy coffee. All of…read morea sudden, rising up between two buildings like a mermaid phoenix, was a 1962 Airstream. This thing was nestled among murals and gussied up with signs and plants, chairs, rugs and tables. It was topped with a giant masked mermaid with blue hair. Of course my kids had to check it out. Womp, womp. Such a cool display to promote something as unkid friendly as wine. Surely my kids would walk away that day jilted. Not so fast. Wine on Wheels does lots of beverages. It just so happens that on this fine Saturday hot chocolate was on the menu *insert cheers here*. The owner of the stand, Melody Maria, really knew how to serve customers. She talked to my two kids about their day, what they were doing in the area and the decorations. When my son realized he didn't like hot chocolate (this was his first time) she gave him extra whipped cream (which he liked) and a free bottle of water. My daughter and wife both loved their chocolatey drinks. They were rich, smooth, adorned with peppermint and topped with whipped cream. She asked about lids and straws, and basically served up an amazing experience. That's what Melody and Wine on Wheels is all about. The whole purpose of her business is to travel to customers and make their shindigs/parties/weddings/tailgates/corporate events special and memorable. I can say with 100 percent certainty, she made that random Saturday in November, a special experience for my kids (and wife). They would definitely return to Wine on Wheels again.
