From the moment you walk in, you're placed into this beautifully curated museum of oddities that immediately sets the tone for the rest of the evening. It's immersive, thoughtful, and has a little bit of history. Once inside the theater, the stage design continues that experience, reflecting King David's travels with what feels like carefully collected souvenirs from his travels around the world. I loved how the history was woven in so seamlessly. It actually sent me down a rabbit hole learning more about Hawaii's last monarch afterwards haha. The show itself? Phenomenal. Aki and Ken are not only incredibly skilled magicians; both masters of sleight of hand and parlor magic respectively, but also genuinely hilarious. Their chemistry carries the entire experience, and they stayed perfectly in theme with the Hawaiian Victorian atmosphere in the magic they performed. I won't spoil anything, but I will say I was left completely mind-blown. There were moments that genuinely didn't seem possible, and just when you think you've caught your breath, another reveal hits. It just kept building, which is the type of magic I really enjoy watching. The venue is intimate and seats about 60 guests. There truly isn't a bad one in the house. Being that close makes everything even more impressive because there are no trap doors, no mirrors, nothing to hide behind. The magic happens right in front of you, and somehow that makes it even harder to believe. They also do a great job with audience participation, which adds to the fun without ever feeling forced or awkward. The show does sell out, so definitely grab tickets ahead of time. LOVE the historical connection to the theatre set up being a replica of the show the Queen went to. The actual location being inside a hotel was a bit odd and the old entrance was far superior. Complimentary drink was fine, nothing exciting. The magician includes everyone, not just VIP but vip is more often chosen for the on stage roles. Amazing show performed by Shoot Ogawa. We were sitting front row with VIP seats and I was so determined to figure out his tricks but I could not figure it out! This magician is super talented and I love his backstory and determination on how he became a magician. If you have young kids like 8-17 year olds, his ambition is inspiring. He teaches valuable lessons about life and to never give up and stay humble. He interacts with the crowd and it's a very intimate setting. Amazing show, great hosts Aki, Peter, and showman Shoot Ogawa! This was my husband and my last show before we left Hawaii and it was so entertaining. My husband booked this for our last night and we didn't think it would be super immersive with the audience like it was. Great elements of history regarding Hawaii's great monarch tied to the art of magic and mystery of the rich culture of the islands. Shoot Ogawa has a great way of working the room and he made the entire show feel like everyone was a part of a collaborative effort to laugh together and be awestruck! Rum punch was offered while we waited for seating. It was fruity and refreshing. Peter did a great job making sure the environment and ambiance felt hospitable. There was an option for dinner and a show as well, but we opted for the show since we had an early dinner near our hotel. Overall, very much worth the experience! read more

Our last evening of our Waikiki vacay was a Magic Show! We had a semi-private show with just six of us and we were within 3-5ft of the magician and his hands at all times - and he was AMAZING!!! His name is Shoot Ogawa & he's quite renowned and had the best rapport with us all. His ongoing commentary, comedy, stories of his growing up in Japan kept us so entertained ~ and his absolute love of magic was palpable. He even took my wedding ring and it ended up in a box that another guest had on his lap the whole time, that I myself openef, and it was BETWEEN two glued cards!!! Don't have a clue how he did that as I watched his hands closely the whole time. And...levitating someone right in front of us was spectacular. We all had the best banter, sharing stories and laughing. A perfect ending to such a wonderful getaway. You just won't believe your eyes - - and you are right there - - HOW does he do it???? Cards, slight of hand, making things disappear and so so much more!!! He's got an awesome personality which makes even just listening to him for two hours makes it all worth it. Intimate. Magical. Unforgettable. These are the words that come to mind when I think of this show. What Jonathan has created is clearly a love letter to where magic can bring people, to another time, to another place, and to each other. We had the fortune of seeing master magician Shoot Ogawa who is renowned around magic circles and it's clear why. His magic is clearly personal but he engages each person in the audience as deftly as he makes things disappear and reappear in his hands. As someone who has seen many magic shows including the Magic Castle, he managed to make new twists on old favorites meanwhile showcasing why he is the absolute master at some others. My face hurt from smiling the whole time. You line up inside the second floor of the Hilton where magician Aki helps sign you in and you either get a glass of complimentary rum punch or water which was a nice touch. Magician Jonathan came around with his beautiful bunny Merlin. The group is always small enough that at some point you feel a sense of ohana with everyone. Such great vibes. After a small preshow you are led into a room with three rows of chairs but every seat is well placed so you get a great view and as many people as possible can be called upon to help with the show no matter where you sit. If Shoot is away on the business they have guest magicians fill in and seeing the list, they are all pretty great too. I enjoyed every minute of this experience and what's even greater is that a portion of your ticket goes to a children's hospital. We are locals and we loved it!!! We saw Shoot Ogawa and he was spectacular! It was a small, intimate venue - we learned about history of the islands, enjoyed Shoot's story telling, and were so impressed with the magic. The intimate setting made us feel seen. It felt as magical as the Magic Castle. He involved every single group in the theatre. We will be back for the Slight and Delight show and will definitely be signing up for their magic classes. Oh my goodness, buy the tickets!!! This show is amazing!!!! I found it through some Google search I did when trying to find something fun for my family and I to do for my birthday. I thought it was some ad for a show in the mainland or a scam because I've never heard of it before nor have I ever seen the theatre it was in. My daughter is 7 and I thought, "She's never seen magic before. Maybe she'll like this." Totally forgot all about it then on my birthday was scrambling to figure out what to do for fun and Google slid it back in to my searches. The ticket prices aren't bad especially if you're local. They have a bundle that gets you 1 adult and 1 child ticket for $99. The tickets for the 3 of us came out to just about $200. The ticket includes validation for Valet parking and a rum punch cocktail. The drink must've been good because I turned around for a second and my husband tanked it. It's at Hilton Waikiki Beach on Kuhio across from the Alohilani Hotel (the old Pacific Beach). I'm glad I read my confirmation email well because I thought it was at Hilton Hawaiian Village. The parking for the hotel is only Valet. We went on a Monday night to the 7:30 show and Valet was gnarly, backed up into the street. Be aware of the time it can take to get your car valeted. The show is on the second floor. The line forms right above the main hotels entrance doors. Our plans got pushed back a bit so we were running late. We ended up far back in the line and sat in the 4th row. It really didn't matter though because you can see the action from everywhere. Our magician was Shoot Ogawa. I'm not gonna give away anything about his tricks because you should get that feeling in real time. He is UNREAL. UN. REAL. Even the tricks that were supposed to be "small" were mind blowing. It was awesome to unanimously have the crowd go "WHATTTTTT" and "HEYYYYY." I know I let out a couple WTF's. I know the adults in that room had to all be skeptics, so to equally be blown away feels comforting. Like ok I'm not crazy, this stuff is inexplicable!! While he does his tricks he also talks a lot about life, his journey, humanity. He talked a lot to the kids encouraging them. He talked about how negative opinions aren't yours too keep, and knowing your value is inside. IT WAS AMAZING!!! He was preaching and cracking jokes and magicianing all at the same time the ENTIRE show. They don't allow video recording, only photos which explains why I couldn't find ANYTHING worthwhile on YouTube. Honestly, after watching the show, I appreciated that. It made everything so much more entertaining. Afterwards, you can take pictures with him and they have some merchandise you can purchase. They have little magic kits available for purchase, so on the way home we were all trying to be magicians as we ran through all the tricks that absolutely BLEW OUR MINDS. Literally the most stressful part of the entire experience was the Valet parking and dealing with Waiks traffic at night. None of that though made this experience any less worth it. We came across the Magical Mystery Show at the Hilton on a social media page, and thought that sounds fun! Nathan, Aki, and Peter did not disappoint. We bought tickets to the early 5:00pm show (they do two shows a night). The venue is intimate, which makes it nice to interact for audience interaction and participation. Must see magic show! Highly recommended! A hidden gem in Hawaii. We got to see world class magician Shoot Ogawa up close in our VIP front row center seats. He's super entertaining, funny, witty and observant. Unique, intimate, captivating, educational, engaging and fun describes this magic show in an intimate showroom that looks like a Victorian era magic parlour. Our 7:30 show on a Thursday only had 24 people in 4 rows where 6 seats in the front row were reserved VIP seats and the back 2 rows are raised. Actually all the seats had a great views so you can see everything and Shoot Ogawa picked several people throughout the showroom to participate in his magic acts. It's almost like having your own private magic show. Having the expensive reserved seats did have some perks though with extra close up views of sleight of hand tricks and you were mostly likely chosen to assist him with a couple of tricks and you also get a small bag of magic tricks to take home. It was worth it for us because we had an awesome time but honestly you'll have a great time no matter where you're sitting. Drinks were provided while we were lined up outside before the start of the show during which were introduced to Merlin the Rabbit and could pet him. The lines moved in quickly for showtime. Peter was a great host that gave us a tour of the curio museum with some interesting history & stories. Kekoa gets the crowd pumped up for the show. Shoot Ogawa, the award winning magician from Japan, did an incredible magic show. He's down to earth and funny. A portion of the ticket sales goes to Shriners Hospital for children which is pretty cool. Parking is accessible from Kuhio Avenue and is valet parking only. There is free parking validation for the magic show. Just have to tip the valet drivers. They rotate the magicians from time to time so make sure you know what magicians are performing before booking. I highly recommend Shoot Ogawa! read more

Absolutely worth it--such a great show and worth every penny! You don't really need VIP, because everyone in the audience gets involved. We had so much fun! The magician is incredibly talented, super funny, and kept us laughing the entire night. To be honest, when we first walked into the hotel, it looked really old and the kids were like, "Why did you book this?" But once the show started, their faces changed from doubtful to big smiles, and they couldn't stop talking about it afterward. This is definitely something you should do when you're in Oahu. It's such a hidden gem! There were only about 30-40 people in the room, which made it feel more personal and special. I'm actually kind of glad not many people know about it yet--it made the experience even better! read more

So excited we arrived 45 minutes before showtime. Nice man with groomed mustache showed us where the restrooms were. He asked if we were staying at this hotel and said we're going to have a blast with a gigantic smile, big eyes that twinkled. I told him I loved his mustache that had been curled up. Doc and grandpup are treating us to front row 2 of 6 VIP seats. This is Intriguing as the the write up has my curiosity peaked in anticipation. Supposed London room with 2 trips back in time then a fabulous intimate performance by a magician from Japan. No more than 40 in each of the 2 performances. The person or benefactor who has added items to their museum of curiosities is claimed to be a vampire killer. Come see the items displayed here. The showroom is a made over conference room. You get to know your fellow audience members well. Shoot has direct eye contact with each of his viewers. He is handsome, witty and super observant. From the moment you arrive, Peter provides a wonderful environment that transports you away from the busy streets of Waikiki to a magical world, if only for a few hours. The venue is an unassuming Hilton Hotel, but you are soon greeted by quite a character, along with his magical bunny. The stage and museum are very impressive and adds to the experience. The magician was great and had some very impressive acts. He kept the audience engaged and played nicely to the kids. I attended the Magical Mystery Show featuring Ke Koa recently at the Hilton, Waikīkī. The ambiance was fine. It was a good show. This is the 2nd magic show I have ever attended. My 1st was in Vegas. Obviously there will be differences but I believe any great act will shine no matter the location. There was a lot of storytelling, comedy and audience participation with some magic threading it all together. Unfortunately, the reality for any experience is the more you pay, the more you expect. I didn't know what to expect but I had high hopes. Overall, it was a good show. I did not pay full price and I would not pay full price for this show. The prices in general are not family friendly and should be changed. We won't be back because once was enough for my family and I can't recommend it unless prices are adjusted accordingly. read more

Absolutely insane. So we had a show booked for 5pm last night.(7/29/25). I texted the person who texted me a show reminder at around 3:22pm. Check out the Hawaii local news or even national news in Hawaii on 7/29/25. There was a Tsunami warning because of a massive earthquake that hit Russia. After calling the person who texted me, Peter he mentioned that the show was still on and this sort of warning happens all the time nothing actually happens. Now here we are walking the streets of Waikiki witnessing all businesses rapidly close for the day and hear sirens being alarmed outside everywhere. People are literally running to their cars or wherever they need to go and yet these folks are still trying to hold a 5pm show when the first wave was said to hit around 7:10pm. So after about 3-4 more calls of hearing the owner hasn't decided to cancel yet etc I finally call again and hear that around 4:35pm which is 25 mins before the show time and 5 minutes before they expect us to arrive, they sent out emails canceling. However I have yet to receive an email and it's now 7/30/25 @8:30am. Ridiculousness from the show owner management etc. I don't care what you guys take lightly- a tsunami warning is nothing to be playing around with and holding peoples money isn't either. Refund my ticket asap. We are currently already on our way to the airport. You should be ashamed of yourself because the last phone call I had with Peter, he mentioned how he was urgently trying to get home after he was I guess give the "go ahead from upper management/ owner". He was getting calls every minute and texts and mentioned he was in the middle of all of this. Shame on this business. I wouldn't even rebook based on knowing how all this even went down. And you lied and said you've sent out emails canceling the show because you have NOT. Refund the ticket in full! The manager who told me an email of canceling would be going out is Ken. To the owner Jonathans review response- please do not write a generic response. The issue was the fact that you decided you didn't want to cancel the show during a tsunami until 15 minutes before and then never responded with a refund for the matter. That's the issue above. Do not miss this show! Fantastic experience from beginning to end; from making reservations for my fiancée and I til the end of the show and leaving the venue thanks to producer Jonathan and his staff. I decided to book VIP seating as we were celebrating my fiancée's birthday weekend, and we both had a fun and amazing time. We got there 15 minutes before showtime as instructed and were treated to a nice rum punch cocktail to start our evening with while waiting in line and listening to our greeter/host. My fiancée and I are local residents, and there was a nice mix of locals and tourists attending the show giving the show an even nicer dynamic. We then entered the Museum of Curiousities and Oddities which was a small, quirky and interesting collection of items, each with a unique story behind it. We also got an interesting history lesson about how Hawaiian and European royalty came together over a century ago and experienced magic shows as an activity that they enjoyed together. We entered the main showroom and experienced the magic and comedic entertainment of Kekoa, a very skilled and personable gentleman who took us on a journey mixed in with laughter and emotion and gave us a glimpse into his own life experiences as well. At the end we had the opportunity to take a photo with him, ask him any questions we had, and the producer Jonathan was even there to greet guests as we left the venue. I have to say that Jonathan exceeded my expectations with my reservations process and seeing us through to the end. He even had Kekoa weave in my fiancée's birthday into the show which provided us a special memory that neither of us will ever forget. We will be be back as I have read great reviews of their other magician Shoot Ogawa whom Jonathan also mentioned to me. Anyway, I highly recommend The Magical Mystery Show!
