Worst service for mailing, worse than USPS! White haired older guy with glasses (I think his name is Bruno), an old fart was very rude and disrespectful in service. After scanning my package, he carelessly tossed it on the ground instead of a sorting bin (clearly marked USPS). Coming back to question about usps package(s), he argumentatively insisted it was FedEx but I had to tell him it was USPS. See picture and it clearly says 'USPS Ground Advantage Return'. I guess he can't read and does not care for any of the packages where they go! Then he was going to make me wait for a 'lesson', which I decided to leave without question. DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS WITH THIS PLACE AND go directly to the carrier instead. USPS across the street has better service than this old guy. Stay far away! read more

Came here to drop off a prepaid package for FedEx. There was no wait, the man behind the counter was polite, and the process was smooth. The only weird thing was that I didn't see a parking lot, so not sure if there was one behind the building. Not an honest business. I came here to get a live scan and was very disappointed with the experience. Their website clearly listed the fee as $25, but in person the owner tried to charge $40. Most locations charge $20-$25, and $40 is rare and unreasonable. When questioned, the owner insisted the money "doesn't even go to the business," which was misleading and unprofessional. If that were true, there would be no reason to charge above the listed price or have a business that does live scan to begin with. I later went to another notary and they mentioned that any charge they make goes straight to the business so further proving his claim false. I value honesty and professionalism, and unfortunately, this business showed neither. I will not be returning. read more

Looking at these reviews makes it obvious that there is a continued trend based around the attitude of the people who work here. For today's entry into their ongoing issues with customer service, I offer the following: The owner was thoughtful in calling to let me know that the two items I had dropped off had the same return label on them...however, that was where the kindness ended. He immediately said that I had photocopied them, and I shared that I printed what was emailed to me. That was the last line I said before he talked about how my packages would not be processed correctly and hung up. When I called back, he was at least honest that he had hung up on me...but he also honestly saw no problem with it. He expressed that I my one line response to him explaining that I had not photocopied them was argumentative and that "good" customers just say thank you and correct the problem. He is of course right that I could have expressed the immediate gratitude he was seeking instead of confusion as to how the problem even arose. He is also right to value people who perform exactly as desired. But it is an interesting approach to decide he no longer needs to engage with anyone who does not know the unwritten rules of comportment he so closely adheres to in his mind. This is a business that obviously knows they are the most convenient place to drop off packages and does not care that I have previously used them for all of their other paid services. The owner welcomes the Yelp reviews as a place for people to complain when they "think" they are right...It's a valid point. I think I am right that I should not be hung up on after a single line that does not meet his desired level of genuflecting. I "think" I am right when I say this is not the first time we have had issues with this location having an attitude about using them for returns instead of paying them for a shipping label. I "think" I am right that rather than getting as upset with the owner as I did, I should find a place that does not have a set list of which services they offer will yield good customer service and which ones they feel entitled to be rude about. Ultimately, if you are paying for something, you may have a better experience. I have not had issues for any transaction that required an exchange of funds (Including when they have charged me $1 to drop off a fed ex package with a prepaid label). But I would recommend saving yourself reaching the point of frustration that seems to come when asking them to do anything they advertise that does not cause you to pull out your wallet. read more

Came here to mail a package overseas and went with USPS. Paid a lot for mailing but after two weeks later was notified package was returned back. USPS was irresponsive and did not provide any reason why package was returned. Bruno, the owner resolved it very professionally by providing a refund and other options to further consider besides USPS. He was patient and reasonable in resolving this issue. FedEx stores are invariably professional and staffed with people who focus on excellent service, but not this location! This 40-year-old hodgepodge of a business is a family-run pseudo-FedEx drop-off franchise that has outlasted its useful lifetime. Several of the clerks have been arrogant to us and seem to be retired on the job. Several years ago, a package shipped from this store went missing and they were unhelpful in trying to trace its whereabouts. Just recently, I took a package in and asked for a receipt because I did not want a recurrence of my earlier lost-package-syndrome. The young man behind the counter replied "We don't give receipts." Since this was a pre-labeled FedEx return item, I persisted and he printed out a register receipt that included my tracking number. Today, I went in with 40-lb, six-foot-tall mirror (shown in the picture below) that was pre-labeled for FedEx return. A lady saw me struggling at the door and held it open for me. I leaned the package against their counter and a man somewhat younger than my 75 years said "what do you need?" I told him this large package in front of both of us was here for FedEx shipping. He asked if it was pre-labeled and I said "Yes." He nodded towards the sidewalk and said "Why don't you carry it out there and put it on the cart." Since he made no effort to scan my package, I knew he and his store were avoiding liability for the package they wanted me to leave on the sidewalk. and I was not about to leave my property on the street without a receipt or even a scan. When I told him they should move the package after processing it, he told me he didn't want to. I took my package instead to the FedEx location at Hawthorne near PCH. When I entered the store, a young man behind the counter saw me and said "Good Morning, would you like a receipt?" I was in and out in two minutes. What a difference! The Hawthorne store deserves five stars, but this Rolling Hills store barely deserves one star. The Mail Stop seems to think they have a lock on all FedEx shipping business for the Palos Verdes Peninsula and good service is unnecessary. I think it's worth driving a couple of extra miles. read more

He went well over above & beyond to get the job done, I had just about 24 hrs to get 2 16 x20's done and he did it and pictures came out amazing. So grateful for him and his beautiful daughter who patiently waited and chatted with me while my husband arrived (because of course I left my wallet at home). Not sure if he is the owner or just a worker there, but I dropped off a prepaid Fedex package and the guy was extremely rude. He was very sarcastically saying "Good job. Good job". That is a terrible way to treat customers whether I bought anything or not. If you don't want prepaid Fedex packages dropped off then don't be in that business. I only occasionally have to do this, but every time it's the same kind of treatment. Don't do business here unless it's you only option. The UPS store in Peninsula Center is a much better option. If you have to do Fedex, find another place even if it's off the hill. read more

I stopped by to just drop off a package which it didn't even require signature. The owner (young lady) was chatting with her friend about a collage or some sort for good 5 minutes ignoring all the customers waiting to be helped. It seems her personal conversation was more important than helping "customers". I politely asked her if I can just leave the package there & she gave me a dirty look expressing her feeling that she wasn't happy about interrupting her conversation with her friend. I came in person at first and was met with kind and friendly employees. However, when an issue came up and I called the store, I spoke with the owner Bruno and the conversation was less that ideal. I was told that this issue must be my fault, I was not given the opportunity to fully express what the issue even was, and I was berated and talked down to simply for trying to get my issue resolved. At no point did the owner allow me to fully express what the issue was. I'm upset at the customer service I received. I want to support local businesses; however, when a customer such as myself is met with such hostility and aggression, I can't support that as any person should be able to simply express what the issue even is without staff trying to be hurtful and make it personal. I ended up going to a different store entirely (and paying again) for the service I needed completed, but was done incorrectly the first time while at The Mail Shop. My experience was dehumanizing at best, and unfortunately I strongly discourage people from using this service. I hope The Mail Shop employees learn that berating customers can be extremely unprofessional and frankly- very hurtful. There is no reason or excuse for trying to make the customer feel like it's their fault simply because certain staff are unwilling to take accountability. read more
