*This review is limited to my experience with the notary.* Quick back story is that the notary at my local bank was a no-show even though I had an appointment. Found my local Postal Annex and the person on the phone said they do have notary service and that their notary was indeed available. The young lady at the counter examined my document, ID, and fam member's ID and had us sign the document and their customer log. It was quite easy and their costs were fair. Declined their shipping options as FedEx Office in Torrance has a 2day flat rate of $11.90 which I used afterwards. PostalAnnex+'s notary was efficient and kind. She had a few customers in line waiting after me and they were all patient regulars that were familiar with Meena who was working by herself. Location is inside Von's at the Crossroads. On a Saturday morning plenty of spots in the big Crossroads plaza. If I need a document notarized again, I would return to Postal Annex+. read more

Great help with my passport renewal and a new passport for my 1yr old. They were pros at taking her passport photo.

Auntie GodMom and I needed some docs notarized stat! Post lunch with her and her husband nearby, this was the closest we could find to get it done. Located inside Vons. They provide so many services, from shipping, packaging, mailbox rentals, notary just to mention a few. They also have lots of trinkets for sale; magnets, greeting cards, stamps, lanyards and so on and so forth. I was impressed with their inventory. Auntie GM and I met Dianna. Off the bat, she was friendly and welcoming. We were lucky with timing, with other customers in, we were the only ones who needed notary services. Needless to say, there was no wait. Dianna was FAST. I expected to be there for awhile with all the signing and dating, fingerprints, etc. I was even more impressed! Just FYI: $15/signature. Worth it. Totally out of the way for me, but I was so happy with the outcome that I might just make that drive next time I need this kind of service again in the future. read more

Best Passport Photo! Although, I am darker-skinned, I had not problem in the past having Passport photos taken at Autoclub. BUT, this year, I went to AAA twice, as well as a (won't name) professional photo shop and the photos were hideous. Nothing like me. This time I refused to fuss over my hair or any makeup and went to the PostalAnnex+ and the photo was fantastic. Like many others said ... this place only wants your money and unless you have something for them they will not accept your mail or packages. The service from this business is second to none. It's owned and operated by a charming couple since it's opening way back in 2000. This couple along with their staff, always go above and beyond to take care of your shipping needs, plus other services. In fact, they helped me save money on my shipping by selecting a smaller more economical box and shipping service. And they offer a variety of shipping services. Shockingly, they also make keys at this location. It's a lot more convenient to come here, then it is to go to Home Depot or Lowe's. I gave this place my business for many years. Not anymore. I mailed a Fed Ex overnight on Monday and paid over $50 to get to the east coast by the next morning to my attorney. I was assured it would be there but it didn't arrive for two days. When I called today, I was basically blown off and told it's Fed Ex problem. I didn't pay Fed Ex, I paid them. They should do the follow up. Then he told me that due to Covid there's no guarantee it will get there overnight. The salesperson never mentioned that nor does the receipt. (Says not responsible for lost or damaged) but I don't even know if they mailed it on time and he certainly wasn't going to look up the tracking for me. I told him I have supported his business for years and if I have to go through all the trouble of going to Fed EX I might as well shop there and he told me OK....Wow...blown away that they don't care after they take your money. It is about time I put in a review for PostalAnnex+. I've been coming here for the past three years for my mailing and notary needs. Hanif is awesome! He is very honest and super knowledgeable. Just recently he saved me from getting a document notarized because he noticed that a page was missing. Depending on when you find there may be a wait but I noticed the last couple of times they hired a young man to help out and he is great. I brought a package in that I needed to return and even though I discovered I had to go to the post office he wrapped it up for me really well. I also find that there are many regulars who come here. I also ran into one of my former colleagues who knows Hanif enough to drop off something and say "Just put it in my account". It's located just inside the Vons supermarket located in Torrance Crossroads plaza so parking is absolutely not a problem. I also love that they are open on Sundays! This family owned business will have me avoiding the post office if I can. And Hanif can count me as one of the regulars now too read more

A couple of years ago I needed some real estate documents notarized so I called this place up to set up an appt for the weekend. The pleasant lady on the phone told me no appt needed, a notary is scheduled to work that day so just stop by. I showed up w my brother and had the misfortune of dealing with the notary-nazi straight from the depths of hell. To start, as soon as we walked up to the counter we were met with a look of complete mistrust and disdain. I asked if the lady I spoke with on the phone told her I was stopping by, she just continued with this dirty look and shook her head no. So I tell her what we needed and she silently began the process. As we are going through and signing, I am awaiting some instruction from her but none are forthcoming. Meanwhile, she is getting progressively angrier at our slow progress, tapping her fingers on the countertop with impatience and even at some point yelling some sort of illiterate iteration of we need to speed up. I ask her several times if we are doing it right but she just continues her hateful stare and shrugs. My bro says you are notary I would think you'd know, because we don't. Still offers no assistance. So we slog thru it and finish it almost completely unassisted. We hand her a credit card to pay, she runs it hands it back and immediately turns away from us. I ask are we done, is there anything else we need to do and she answers dismissively that yes you are done you can leave. If you are so miserable you need to find another job, something with no interaction with the public. read more

I went in to drop off my packages and came into store with the worker harassing an Asian male and telling him that he will not accept his packages. The worker referred to the male as "this guy" and was exceptionally rude and made the environment extremely awkward. I will not be doing business with anyone that refuses to do business based on race. read more

So, I looked the closes DHL drop off and I found this place. I went there to drop off the boxes. Very rude Indian guy came out and complaining about too many boxes, but they scanned it anyways. We still left the boxes because it had to be delivered. After 15 min. he changed his mind and told us to pick up the boxes and never visit and drop off the boxes to their place. They should stop offering drop off shipments if they can't handle the boxes. Be careful with this guy Hanif Thakor. He seems a nice guy but today he finally showed he's poker face. read more

So I went to this place to get mail stamps, as soon as we entered the store this Indian man(worker) kind of yelled at me and my husband to get in line. There was an African American lady looking around to purchase a calendar and she was talking on her cellphone quietly. And this man (worker) asked the african american lady to leave the store if she was not going to buy anything. The lady politely told him she was looking around for a calendar and asked him why he was being so rude. The man said in a really rude voice she was taking to long and to please leave the store and talk outside the store. As soon as we saw this we decided not to purchase anything from this store and left and as soon he saw us leave he yelled "you're welcome". First time going here for mail stamps, Never going back. read more

Been coming into this location for years. It is near the entrance of the market and is run by Hanif. I occasionally will sell on eBay, or move some stuff for my son's hockey team. I will either drop already labeled materials or buy from Hanif and his crew. Always a pleasure to deal with. Consumer beware. It's Tuesday, July 16, 2019. At approximately 2 PM, my wife and I stopped in at this establishment so that she could return a hat she had purchased from Australia. After weighing it carefully, the gentleman behind the counter informed her that the cost would be north of $300. We politely declined, left, and headed for the first US Post Office where the cost to send said package (with insurance) was .. spoiler alert .. $55.35. I came here to mail my wedding invitations and to buy postage. The two guys behind the counter are funny and quirky and even helped me put the stamps on my envelopes! Their advice and knowledge is super valuable and I don't feel rushed when i go into the annex (unlike the post office aka bowels of hell) I came back in to get a box and packing material and again they were super helpful and I left with the perfect box size and tape I needed to secure my package. This place is the closest FedEx shipping center that is not self-service. Friendly and helpful staff will make me want to come back. I'm not sure how much more (if any) it costs to ship from here rather than the FedEx/Kinkos on Hawthorne. This place also does UPS if you prefer them. read more

This is my go to place! I never have any problems here! Everything is fast and they even notarize!

Don't be fooled by the flat rate boxes in the front of the store! This shop will not accept flat rate packages for shipping, even though they have a giant stack of the boxes (both broken down and assembled) right at the front door. Perhaps it's too much work for them to turn the package over to the USPS carrier at the end of the day. Since they're flat rate (and therefore no profit for them) they can't be bothered to deal with them. Save the time and just go straight to the post office. read more

Let me start off by saying that I didn't visit the Postal Annex.....But Postal Annex came to me in the hospital to offer their services. You see.....my mom was hospitalized and documents had to be notarized after normal business hours. I called Hanif Thakor of Postal Annex and he said he could meet me at the hospital at 7:15pm to notarize documents. When Mr. Thakor arrived, the first thing he asked was how my mom was doing and he wished her a speedy recovery. We completed the paperwork and I NEVER felt like I was being rushed to quickly finish up. Before leaving he again wished my mom blessings for a speedy recovery. That should be enough for a 5 star performance but I needed his services two nights later. Again at 7:15pm and this time he asked how my mom was doing and spent a few minutes talking with her and hoping she would get out of the hospital soon. We did finish the documents, but he stayed behind for 10-15 minutes just chatting it up with my family and at the end, he wished us all good luck and for my mom a quick recovery. He also mentioned that if we're in the area again he would take us to the most delightful East Indian Restaurant for some tremendous food. Why 7:15pm each day? Because his Postal Annex closes at 7pm. and he made the trip after hours to the hospital. That is great customer service. Hanif is a humble, genuine person that was a pleasure to do business with.
