I got it on the everything bagel, and I might add some more cheese if I want it extra gooey next time, but it's probably the proper amount. The iced coffee was lightly iced and I didn't even have to specify (that's my Dunkin' hack, less ice since they love that bartender trick). It wasn't too sweet and the unique house flavors pose some tough counter decisions; the praline was nutty and caramelly, with just the right amount of cinnamon. There's table service when possible, but it can get busy so keeping your head up helps everyone. Jess and Kiersten keep a cozy and easy-to-do-work vibe inside, as the cafe doubled as my office last week. The sensibly relevant wifi password, easily explained, is also a huge flex these days. Stopped in to The Main Bean in Luzerne and grabbed a quick sandwich. Cute little spot and the women working were super friendly. They had a menu item that intrigued me (The Beast) but I didn't feel like I could handle something that big this morning (plus I hear there may be a surprise bite or two in store on the podcast) so I went with a bacon, egg, and cheese on a Kaiser roll and I added a hash brown on it. The roll is softer than I'm used to but it tasted good. Had a whole wheat or grain type of flavor to it. The woman inside said the bakery they are from but my brain is a place of utter chaos so I forgot already. Egg and bacon were cooked well, I enjoyed the sandwich well enough. I would say as a personal preference I would like the hash brown cooked slightly more and the roll toasted hard, but not everyone likes what I like. $5.80 for the sandwich with the hash brown added. We stopped here after finding ourselves in Luzerne for the first time. It's absolutely charming, and the folks are so friendly. It's been very minimally renovated from when it was a home, and accordingly, feels very homey. We got breakfast sandwiches-- my egg and cheese on a croissant was great. It's more of a bread-y croissant than a flaky one (it tastes like pillsbury crescents dough, maybe?) but it was great nonetheless. I got an Americano as well, which was good. I love visiting here! Always friendly service, tasty food (homemade too!), and great drinks! My coffee orders have always been perfectly made, no matter what I ordered. I do wish they offered coconut milk as a non-dairy option (they have almond and oat milks), but I'm not going to change my review for that. The Main Bean is a causal place with varied seating options, and there are puzzles, games, etc. to keep the customers occupied. I don't always order food, but when I do, it is always fresh and tasty. I brought guests with me during my two most recent visits, and they both raved over the egg sandwiches! I also ordered a chicken and "healthy" quinoa salad this was delicious I will be back The owner is excellent at making all kinds of coffee but it's been hit or miss with the others either my lattee ends up burnt or no flavor at all it helps if your employees who drink all types of coffees bc they can taste it ( small sample on the side !) Fun place to go. I saw the other review but tried it anyway because i like small businesses and it is close to home. The people are friendly, both employees and customers. The owner makes sure everyone is happy, he walks around and checks if anyone needs refills, etc. basically table service at a coffee house. Prices are clear, food is good, baked goods are fantastic. They have comfortable places to sit inside and out. They are family oriented with board games, chess, ice cream and two TV's customers get the remotes and free WiFi. The owner was funny, helpful, understanding, and man does he make a mean cup of Joe. So nice I wanted to just sit and chat with him all day, but alas, the 10 hour drive ahead of me pushed me out the door. Had a cup of his famous coffee with two shots, black, and it was heavenly. Best coffee in the area. I'm not kidding. I don't know what they do but it's seriously the best coffee. I usually order a specialty drink like a latte, but here there is no need. The regular coffee is to die for. And don't even get me started on the fresh baked muffins, cakes and cookies. All so good. I meet up here with girlfriends weekly to chat and hang out. The owner who is awesome has several times joked about charging us rent. There are 2 very cost rooms to choose from the main dining area where u can sit at a table and have lunch.
