Maine Course is our favorite in Quincy. Perfect, intimate restaurant, often frequented for celebrations. Kevin, the chef and owner, comes up with interesting and complex flavors for his menu items. The filet is always a standby on the menu but the other items rotate seasonally (cocktail menu rotates as well). They have the most expansive bourbon collection in town, possibly in a 2+ hour radius. Would estimate options range in the hundreds. Parking along Maine St. While reservations are not required I would recommend as there are approx 9 tables and a small bar. read more

Incredible bar selection- whiskeys and wine.. including my absolute favorite Pinot Noir--- Sea Smoke, AND They had BOTH Southings and Tens!!!! Absolutely Surreal. Food- we reserved them for a HUGE party (40), for them to even take on that challenge- applause. Unexpected staff call-offs left them short handed, but they handled it like champs. Food was very, very good. True culinary decadence. All entrees. Business takes me to this town regularly- I will DEFINITELY be going back. A very lovely restaurant with creative cuisine. My gin based cocktail was masterfully crafted. The coconut shrimps appetizer had a pleasant taste of coconut and peanuts and was not too overly breaded. My salmon served with polenta was perfectly cooked, my husband's sous-vide chicken thighs recently added to the menu served with vegetables was excellent. I live in the St. Louis area, so I was amazed to find such a gem of a restaurant in Quincy. The atmosphere of the interior was so well appointed and comfortable. The highlight of this venue for me was the amazing food. I had a wonderful appetizer (spring rolls) served with a tasty homemade dipping sauce! I ordered the fish of the day, sea scallops resting on a bed of sweet potato and some other amazing fresh veggies. The serving was generous and a sheer delight to the palate. Thanks for a great dinner in wonderful setting! Returned to Quincy for first time in several years and discovered that there were several new restaurants. Was extremely glad we chose The Maine Course. It is a relatively small place but they do appear to have outdoor seating for summer dining. We didn't have any trouble getting a table for 4 when we called that afternoon. We brought our own wine and they graciously served them for a modest corkage fee. We all had appetizers which were excellent as was the soup. My wife had the tuna and the others all had the filet. All were prepared as ordered and were excellent. Unfortunately we didn't have room for desert.i highlY recommend this restaurant. A good value in a wonderful setting. read more

This is a good restaurant, not much for decor. I think they try a little too hard. The food is a little too over the top. We have been there for lunch and dinner, I ordered salmon for lunch. Very small portion served plain on a plate. No greens or anything. I left hungry. My companion had the burger which was topped with duck confit. Who needs that on top of burger that has enough grease in it already. They did make their own ketchup and the fries were good. Dinner, again, good food that is pushed a little too far. The prices are a bit high for the area. Seems like the chef has watched a little too much Food Network TV. If they simplified the food a bit and increased the portion size I would be willing to try again. read more

The Maine Course was an extraordinarily pleasant surprise. I live just outside of DC and this is one of best restaurants I've ever eaten at! Wow! My husband, son and I ate lunch here, having the bean stew with goose, YUM. Fresh trout with Bok choy and cauliflower creme. We came back for dinner the following night. My son had filet of beef, salt rubbed, divine. My hubby had a chicken spring roll like nothing you've ever had before. A must! An two salads, the Greek and the Apple salad. I had the sweet pea "Alfredo" pasta - loaded with fresh veggies. I had them cut the pasta in half and add more veggies. Oh yes! We were commenting, no wishing that there was something, anything that was even close to this quality if food in our area. This place knocked my socks off! Everything was pure pleasure and so enjoyable. Very soothing and comfy decor inside. Tables are spaced comfortably and you do not feel squished into the next table. Portions were perfect size and very reasonable. This allowed you to enjoy multiple courses. A wine list full of choices that are reasonably priced. The roasted grape risotto was prepared to perfection just the right bite and so creamy. Grilled Caesar was a distinctive blend of a smoky grill flavor and the tanginess of the dressing. Salt crusted beef tenderloin was perfectly medium, so moist and tender. The best part of all was perfectly cooked broccoli none of this half raw/half cooked crap. The bacon bourbon butter hamburger was so tasty without any one taste shocking the taste buds. The crisp of the char, smoky bacon and onions were perfect together. My spouse and I love going to the Maine Course when we have an opportunity. There is consistent variety to their menu that demonstrates originality with great flavor. The chicken spring roll, for example, is a delicious appetizer that is individually sized and plated nicely. At one point in time there was a table selection of four different salts, and yes there is a difference! The French press coffee and desert are also favorites of mine. I have been here for lunch and dinner both and have always received delicious food and excellent service. What a find, I was driving down Maine street and saw tables and chairs outside this place and decided to stop. The best decision I've made today I ordered the chicken spring rolls and beef on a bed of mashed potatoes - the food was cooked to perfection, the chicken succulent, moist, the beef (medium rare) was so tender it would melt in your mouth I had a sangria to drink, this was so so (that's why they got 4 stars) Check it out, I'm sure you won't be disappointed read more

I tried to have dinner on 2 other occasions but the wait was to long. I stopped today at around 5:45 and had dinner at the bar. The poached salmon special was excellent., with carrots, spinach & pesto. Wednesday night is whiskey night, all whiskeys are 25% off & I think they have 32 different types so if you like good whiskey this is the place. I did have one of their whiskey specials. "Very good" but can't remember the name. The staff is friendly and makes you feel like your there all the time. The chief came to check & see how the food was. The halibut that my wife, and I, was served this evening was possibly the best meal I've had, to date, from this establishment!
