We love the pool events, and we will be doing golf camp this week for our 5 year old. Easter and Christmas time are magical times for the club with tons of social events. So glad we joined a few years ago. Ask love getting our golf lessons!

So despite the long drive down Concord road to places I never visit, I pulled into the guard gate, told them my name and party, and was allowed to enter. SWAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNKKKKKKKYYYYYY neighborhood y'all. Like really SWANK. Like country stars and billionaires swanky. Need to learn to play golf on that golf course so I can catch me a sugar daddy, no? Anyway, the mansion was Pleasant Hill, an old house built in 1854 by Colonel Winstead. It has been restored with period decor and is quite interesting to check out. They have room to set up tables for groups of diners and apparently even have weddings/receptions here. There's a large outdoor patio area for the same type thing. There's even a separate bar area so that people arriving can gather in there to get drinks and not block up the space between the tables since it is a little crammed in there when fully set up. The staff is welcoming and seem to really love being there which adds a nice Southern charm to the whole thing. Food was your standard group dinner stuff - salad with some really good thick balsalmic vinaigrette, entree was steak on one side, chicken on the other, and roasted vegetables and potatoes in the middle. Steak was medium well and a little on the bland side, chicken was standard. Overall just really average but when cooking for a large group it wasn't bad. The dessert was a decadent chocolate cake with white icing but the chocolate syrup covering it was definitely Hershey's syrup. Not like that's a bad thing! Overall seems like a really nice place to have a unique group dinner, rehearsal dinner, etc. And apparently if you live over there and are a member (of what? not sure) you get a deal on this. So move over to the neighborhood and then invite me over to your swanky place!

I booked a tee time online, checked in with a front desk employee who was kind and helpful, and explained their process of getting around. Nice senior rate, with certain lunch items and a beer/drink included in the fee. Starter Richard...what a gem. Pure sunshine! Happy, helpful, glad you're there, and genuinely wanted us to have a fun round! We were paired with two locals as playing partners. We were thankful for their guidance around the course and at the turn when we decided to grab our meal. Never missed a beat - this process was smooth! The course was in great shape. Greens rolled fast and fairways were wide. A bit tricky to find your ball if in the rough though! Really enjoyed the course, the lively atmosphere, and look forward to playing it again one day.

Given the cold weather, rains the few days before, and the business, I expected a slow day on a beat-up course. But I couldn't have been more pleased with the condition of the course and the perks. While $120 is higher than I'd like to pay for public golf, when you throw in a beer, burger, and chips, range balls, putting green access, and get us around in under 4 hours on a holiday weekend, I'm thrilled. Given the time of year, the course was in great condition, especially the greens. Challenging and rolling fast, but true. The layout was great and provided a challenge for the better golfers in our group but kept our less experienced golfers entertained as well. Will 100% play here again next time I'm back in the Franklin area.

Stephanie helped us for the first time, and her attitude was extremely rude and inconsiderate. When I asked a simple question about a menu item, she rolled her eyes, and shortly after I noticed her talking with a coworker while pointing in our direction. It felt unprofessional and disrespectful. Because of this interaction, we no longer feel comfortable returning. Consistency and basic courtesy matter, and this experience fell far below the standard we've come to expect.

There's lots of natural light coming in the big windows that surround the room and overlooks the golf course. The sunset was stellar and the backdrop is ideal for photos. Additionally, the food catered was quite delicious for a buffet setting (the chicken was still tender and juicy!). I really liked the mac and cheese too (smart menu picks!). One thing that did surprise me was that the seat covers were all wrinkled. I would think a venue like this would take better care to notice those details. (I pay closer attention to those things than most because I plan events, but still). I'd like freshly steamed seat covers if I were paying for a venue as nice as this for my special day. Keep that in mind when planning your event!
