I went to The Mansion with my family for the Mothers Day brunch. It was pretty busy when we were there, but the staff kept everything moving and we got seated at our table pretty promptly. The brunch is buffet style, so I wanted to wait and order drinks before I went to get my food. We waited about 10minutes before our waiter came to our table (he actually waited another party before us even though we were seated first), so that was pretty annoying. Soon after he brought the other table their drinks he came to us, and we ordered our drinks. The food at the Mansion was pretty delicious. I tried almost everything that I saw. Waffles, bacon, sausage, a vegetable omelette, salmon, various types of fish, chicken with wild rice, shrimp cocktail, shrimp pasta salad, potatoes, fresh fruit, and many varieties of desserts (macaroons, strawberry short cake, lemon squares, coconut cake squares, etc.) I ended my feast with a nice relaxing cup of coffee. Although it was busy, the atmosphere was at ease somewhat. There was a lounge singer there who had a nice voice, and sang many songs in the style of Frank Sinatra. He even sang "Something Stupid," one of my favorite Sinatra songs. All in all my family and I were pretty happy with our experience. Oh this place used to be so much better. The buffet is mediocre at best. During the holiday time they up their price from $29.95 to $32.95 and it is absolutely unjustifiable. They only addition is they have Christmas carolers! Back to the food.. there are tons of better Sunday brunch buffets out there. There is nothing special here. To charge $30 bux and OH GET THIS -- they automatically add 21% gratuity to your bill, is the most crazy part of this place. So I'm serving myself and getting up and asking a couple times for extra cream or decaf coffee, and I have to pay you 21% tip?!?! Its insane! They have all the standard Sunday brunch stuff, nothing sticks out, nothing. Do not waste your money - do not go here. It is a total waste of money. I had my high school graduation luncheon here in 2002 and thought this would be a good place to take my family for brunch. As the Bob Dylan song goes... The Times They Are a Changin'. Brunch was $36 plus 21% gratuity and tax per person. So per person we are talking around $46. This was about $46 too much. I had to ask 3 times for a cup of coffee, which was cold. People in my party ordered mimosa's which never came. I had to stand at the buffet for 10 minutes for them to bring out a tiny bowl of syrup. The sign said "French Toast and Strawberries", but I never saw any fruit that resembled a strawberry. I could continue to list why this place sucks, but I think you get the gist. However, if you don't like your in-laws and need somewhere to take them next time they are in town... then The Mansion is the place for you. read more

Came here today for Sunday brunch and my hubby and I were both extremely disappointed! While the food selections were vast, the quality and most importantly the temperature of the entrées was awful. Here are some observations on things I tried: - Eggs Benedict: Egg, ham & hollaindaise were tasty, but they were served room temperature and the English muffin was either stale or heated in a microwave...I could not get a knife through it and was unable to eat it at all. - Bacon: Cold - Tortellini in Cream Sauce: Cold, and tortellini cooked to mush. - Omelette: It was the only thing I ate today that was served at the proper temperature! Ordered a Western omelette, but they had no ham....hence, disappointing. - Seafood Pasta Salad: Should have been cold, was room temperature. Took one bite and left the rest as I was afraid it'd make me ill. - Carved prime rib: Room temp and tough. - Pumpkin Cheesecake and Strawberry Shortcake: Tasty but not chilled which made them so soft they had to be eaten with a spoon. - Service from our waiter was abysmal as he was completely distracted by trying to impress three separate tables of brides-to-be and their entourages deciding on a venue for their wedding receptions. Our empty plates weren't taken away, and my husband waited 20 minutes for our waiter to come around to order a Diet Coke. All this for $30 per person. I have been a resident of South Jersey for a little over two years now. I guess I wasn't around during the Mansion's heyday. Whenever I mention the Mansion people say "Oh its not at good as it used to be". When we moved to Voorhees 2 years ago, we were on a quest to find a great place for Sunday brunch. After reading a few reviews, we decided to try the Mansion a couple of months after moving to South Jersey. At that price we were not impressed. The food seemed bland, and it looked as if someone allowed a kindergarten class create the menu with drawings. This past Sunday we went back to the Mansion for the Peach Festival Sunday brunch. I guess word is spreading that the Mansion was falling off because we were pleased with brunch today. I could be wrong, but I felt like there were more options to choose from. Were there a few issues? Yes, the coffee was not very good. There was no cream on the table so my cup sat there until I was able to get my waiter to bring some over. Upon arriving there is only one host that greets and seats everyone so it took a little time be seated. Please forgive me if this a religions thing but cheese blintzes and french toast do not belong in the same chaffing dish. One of my main concerns was regarding the bill. A 21% gratuity was applied to each individual in the party; there were only two of us. This was my second visit in two years and I can't remember if a gratuity charge was applied to the bill on my first visit. I was a little taken by the fact that gratuity was applied to a party of only two. I always tip above 18% and that's usually off the total check so I am not a fan of establishments adding gratuity, I feel it only hurts the servers. I added something extra but couldn't help but feel as if I didn't leave enough. After we got down the road, my wife asked if the 21% was for the buffet workers. I figured thats what it probably was, then I felt even worse. Instead of listing it as a gratuity the Mansion should list it as a service charge. I worked in the food industry and have eaten at plenty of buffets and I am not familiar with that process. The Sunday brunch at the Mansion is not going to make my top 10 list, but it's not Coast Line. Between the places in Northern Liberties and my favorite restaurant for brunch, K.C. Prime Steakhouse in Mercer County I probably won't be here again until the next Peach Festival. read more

Attended a wedding here and it was awful. Food was tasteless and cold. Pasta station was cold and so were the sauces. The wedding cake was completely wrong and the colors of the flowers were pink when they were supposed to be red. Did not go with the wedding colors. Staff was not very friendly or accommodating. I absolutely enjoyed brunch. Food was delicious. Fresh, plentiful and huge variety. Everything was the right temperature and servers were quick to keep everything filled. My favorites...the salmon, large shrimp, fruit rolled pancakes and cheese cake parfait. Everyone who had bacon said it was crisp and perfectly cooked. Coffee was served hot and often. Champagne with cranberry juice...a nice touch. Tables were almost all full and still we never had to wait for anything. Our server, Michelle was right on and fun. Very comfortable seating and I like round tables. One tiny small little negative that I almost hesitate to mention was the "made to order" omelet station. I asked for an omelet to be made without butter and two plops of butter went into my pan anyway...glad I was watching but only one plop came out since the other was already melting...also, the pan had a big piece of the previous omelet still in it. The Mansion is well Known for their Sunday Brunch. Although the brunch is lacking a Raw Bar (My Favorite at a Brunch) They're Menu is Complete in every other aspect. Carving, Omelet, Waffle Stations that will cook to order. Full line of Desserts, Cheeses, Whitefish and Smoked Salmon, Hot Dishes as well as your standard Eggs, Sausage and Bacon. The Lobster Bisque was Rich, Creamy and NOT STARCHY! The Service (White Gloved) was IMPECCABLE! The atmosphere made you feel like a First Class Guest on the Titanics Maiden Voyage less the disaster part! Everything from the lobby to the bathrooms were Spotless and Complete. The Singer has an Excellent Voice! I STRONGLY suggest reservations early. This is a must for a Special Occasion or Romantic Breakfast. You will Impress your date here! read more

Mother's Day Brunch Fail! I made reservations and was told that the chef 'goes all out', including a carving station, and bananas foster French toast. There would also be live entertainment. This was not only the worst brunch experience in my life, it was the worst restaurant experience in my life. First, the food was fine and the staff was fine. The male singer was too loud and I couldn't hear my waitress. But, what ruined the entire brunch, which isn't cheap, were two items: 1. My table was defective and spun about 45 degrees arc. When you cut your food, the table would spin and the liquids would spill. I complained to both the waiter and waitress, and no offer to move. I already had our food and drinks, and thought I could handle it. I had to hold the table still while my daughter cut her food, and she had to return the favor while I cut mine. Like I said, I brought it up to both wait staff. 2. But even worse was the ear-piercing, shrill, shrieking baby that totally took over the entire room--so much so that a newly seated table heard the screech, and immediately requested a new table. This child's ear piercing screech disrupted everyone's meal--each time she did it, everyone looked. It was unbelievable. I complained again, twice, to my wait staff, and they even remarked how annoying the child was and they apologized. I still cannot believe a parent would make an entire restaurant suffer like this, and the restaurant would not discretely address the situation. I am positive I am not the only person who complained, having seen a table of 6 or 8 move. Management would remove a drunk patron and management should've handled this horrible sound. This was not your typical baby whining or crying--that I've handled in restaurants, church, whatever--this was ear piercing and 100% disruptive, especially having it right behind you. AND, it wasn't an occasional thing--it had to be once a minute, like clockwork. When the mother finally did remove the child, about an hour into my meal, the remainder of her table stayed. When they left, they waved goodbye to the chef at the waffle station and another employee, so they were obviously known there and not to be offended--that was reserved for the rest of us schmucks. Maybe their dime is worth more than mine, but they'll never see mine again (or I'm betting a boatload of other irritated patrons). Never will I host an event there or attend a brunch. It is over 24 hours later and I'm still mad--at both them and more at myself for not being ignorant and demanding a new table far from the screecher and far from the spinning table. I will say that the pasta bar was good though but I don't think they have that every brunch. It was "Italian" day when I went. The staff is friendly. DO NOT BOOK AN EVENT AT THIS VENUE. Recently had a wine tasting with about 300 people which ended at 9pm. At 9:01 the venue employees started taking all of the wines, beers and liquors saying "it's after 9 these are owns now". The food and beverage manager actually said "wow you guys are crazy aren't you?" THE FOOD AND BEVERAGE MANAGER SAID THAT! Someone who is supposed to be setting an example for his employees acted extremely unprofessionally and resorted to name calling. I will NEVER host another event at this venue. We had the most gorgeous wedding on May 17th, 2019 thanks to the Mansion on Main Street! The staff was spectacular between Frank and Sojourn helping us leading up to it. Then, David as our personal assistant on the big day was nothing but amazing. He was very thorough and catered to our every need. The food was stellar and the drinks were made to perfection. The ambiance, the night and all it entailed created the magical Mansion experience. Highly reccomend!! read more

not worth the PRICE!! Bridal Shower nightmare (May 2017).... place is pretty --- food was ok, servers were ok.... MANAGMENT NEEDS RETRAINING. They knew there'd be 40+ people and yet we arrived and the thermostat was at 76 in a SUNROOM on the 2nd floor (it quickly became 80+). Two ladies up and left because of it. We were begging for them to notice everyone fanning themselves and make it more comfortable. Halfway thru the 4 hour day it felt 'acceptable'. Management didn't even offer any concessions for the sweat-bath..... and they had the nerve to remind one of the guests that an extra drink wasNOT included in the cost to the party-Host (!! so dehydration will cost you personally !!) FIND ANOTHER VENUE! oh PS - you pay for your headcount and do not get to take anything (they "keep" all the leftover desserts etc... what a wasteful practice!) read more

About 6 years ago I had my sisters baby shower at The Mansion and it was very nice so when I need a venue for my birthday party I decided to check out The Mansion once again and I was not disappointed.--On April 26 I had the most amazing birthday party at The Mansion- From start to finish The Mansion went above and beyond to create a successful event. In the middle of my event planning I had a new event planner assigned to me and it was completely seamless. Terry Hall was so accomadating in making sure this party was a hit-From the menus review to the bar selection- she really helped us put a balanced menu together. I also had a great Matre'd Beth Welsh who added some beautiful finishing touches to the party- Service and the food were amazing- Everyone raved about the dessert selection. The Sunday Brunch at the Mansion is like being in Mexico at a fancy hotel like the Westin -- but, without the beach views. We were there Dec 29 for the Dickens brunch. The service is spectacular. The coffee is the same quality as one of the better boutique coffee shops in the city. The salads are fresh. The carved beef was superbly prepared. The mushroom soup was memorable. We left thinking that this brunch is an oasis and truly lovely. I would recommend going there with friends and leaving the phones behind. I also recommend this for a romantic date. We had rebooked this brunch after our birthday party was cancelled by a competing family party. Manny was so kind, and we did not lose our deposit. It was a five star brunch!!! read more

We had Easter Brunch her and it was great . The buffet had omelette station ,beef carving , lamb and everything you could think of eating at a brunch. There were 3 servers on our table of 14 . The service was great , water filled, coffee , drinks and attention to detail. There was soft piano music and even a Easter bunny to make little ones smile. I would recommend this brunch to anyone. We originally got married here in 2013 and had an amazing time. I don't know what happened, but it seems their customer service has gone downhill. On 10/2/16 we signed a contract with Sammy-Jo (who is no longer there) for a vow renewal in 2018. She tried to give us a simple luncheon at first, but I explained we wanted this to be a second wedding. I told her about our original wedding in 2013 and she took one look at our original contract from 2013 and just said "that should have never happened". She also explained that our event could not go into the evening hours at all or we would be charged evening prices, so we signed for an earlier event that would end by 4pm because she said that was the latest it could be without being charged more. We felt like the level of service we were getting as returning customers was not very good, but we decided to sign anyway because we really loved it there. I emailed Sammy-Jo on 7/26/17 with a question about the cocktail hour. A week went by with no response, so I called The Mansion only to find out she was no longer employed there. I was told the head of sales would call me back after the meeting she was in was over, but I didn't receive a call so I called back the next day. Then I was told she was actually out sick the past few days, so she was not actually in a meeting the previous day? I was transferred to Caitlin and she answered my question, but I expressed again that I was not impressed with the level of service and length of time(a hour less than we had in 2013) I was getting as a returning customer and no communication about Sammy-Jo being gone. She then asked me if we were married there previously; so the fact that we were returning customers was not even noted in our file. She then told me we could add an extra hour to the event for $5/person. So now all of a sudden we were allowed to go into the evening hours? I then felt like things were misrepresented from the start and was tired of the run around and bad communication. I asked Caitlin if she was my new contact and if I could get her email address; her response was "Um if you want." I felt this was an unprofessional response. My wedding is still a year away and I was feeling like if the communication and customer service was like this now, I didn't want to deal with it when my wedding was closer. I got contact info and emailed the Sales Manager and General Manager on 8/19/17 about my concerns and that we decided to sign with a different venue due to all of the problems. Yet again, a week went by with no response or acknowledgment of my email. I sent a certified letter on 8/25/17 and received a response today from the VP of Sales & Marketing stating they got my cancellation but will not refund my original $600 deposit since it is non-refundable. He also brought up how I didn't pay the deposit in March, yet there was no actual deposit due in March since Sammy-Jo had confirmed with me via email on 1/17/17 that there was a typo in the contract and that it should have said March 2018 instead of 2017. I guess she never updated my file to reflect that. In my opinion, especially as a returning customer who was about to pay thousands of dollars again for a second wedding, they should have refunded my deposit to keep things on good terms. I am very disappointed with this experience. We used to go there for their Sunday buffet brunches too, but will not return after this. We celebrated my father-in-law's 80th birthday and the Mansion provided an elegant affair. We considered other venues nearby, but the chose the Mansion because it offered 2 rooms for our event, with enough space to have hors d'œuvres and bar in one room and then a seated lunch in the other. The beautiful Crystal room and the Vanderbilt room was exactly what we were looking for. Overall, the cost was just slightly more than a private room at a nearby Italian restaurant, but well worth it. Selena was our coordinator and was very quick to answer all my questions by phone or email. We had several particular lunch requests and all were accommodated without any hesitation. The day of the party, Sojourn was our maître d, and was also very helpful with a couple of last minute seating requests. Very attentive, as were all the waiters and bartender, I was asked many times if all was going well. The food was delicious, cooked to perfection. Our menu was the beef barley soup, salmon with lemon dill sauce or chicken Italiano, served with roasted potatoes and string beans. I would recommend them all. I honestly cannot think of one negative thing! I received many compliments on the lovely lunch when our guests were leaving. Happy guests equal a successful event! read more

LIERS AND THIEVES I am an professional photographer who deals with about 50 + couples and venues a season. While working at the mansion an attendant took it apon themselves to move not only my equipment but also the personal belongings of the bride ,groom and the bridal party. I can only imagine this was do to the chaos of running 4 weddings in a single day and the sheer amount of people shuffling thru out the entire venue. The groom and I both had belongings " missing " at the end of the evening. Around 12:00 am I was contacted by the groom ( at my home ) stating that our property hand in fact been found. He in return left my Jacket ( a $600 The Arc'teryx gore tex rain coat that is very much apart of my equipment ) with the front desk. I followed up the following Saturday morning and called to confirm my jacket was in fact in their possession and safe.I was assured it was . When I arrived the following Tuesday ( 3 hours of my day wasted ) the jacket was gone. IN came the lies and excuses. After weeks of calling and broken promises ... I have written e-mails promising that I would be reimbursed from the general manager. I have been given every excuse possible , " we forgot to put a stamp on the envelope " " Wrong address " " It went out yesterday " " I had to make special arrangements " - Pure lies from likes of a greasy used car sales man coming directly from the mouth of the man who run this establishment. ! There is no way I would trust a company like this to the biggest event in my life ! Unless you willing to be lied to ,and you will be , my bride and groom had no idea that we would be dodging 3 other weddings and children's parties all day long. Not to mention the fact of the chance of you and your guest having personal belongings stolen by employees. My wife and I had a very enjoyable experience here on Saturday night. We were greeted and shown a table and asked if we could have the one in the corner and were told "sure". We were immediately greeted by our waiter Charlie--A very pleasant talkative guy. When asked if he had any suggestions he immediately shared his personal favorites and even mentioned one appetizer he did not like. My wife had dumpling onion soup--very differently made and quite good. I had the unique pastrami eggroll which was awesome. My wife had the scallops which were huge and among the best she has ever had (and she is picky). I had the filet mignon topped with gorgonzola cheese which was tasty and cooked perfectly, but I have to say the filet itself was not amongst the finest I've had. The accompanying vegetable medley was delicious. During our meal they got slammed with a private party of 20 or so in another room that were all ordering their entrees at the same time and the staff was spread thin, but all the staff including Taylor the hostess made sure all the other diners were properly taken care of. As we sat talking after our meal a man came over in a chef's jacket and and asked how the meal was. He introduced himself as the chef/owner Chris and said he wanted our opinion because this is a somewhat new venture and he would appreciate our feedback. We shared with him what I've stated above and he thanked us for the conversation and for coming. I thought this showed a real concern that his guests were happy with their experience. I hosted an event at the mansion and sadly had the worst experience dealing with the unprofessionalism of the sales team(Erin and Olivia). They were condescending and extremely difficult to work with. The contract that I was given did not reflect the conversations I had with them. In other words, my time and menu was completely wrong and when confronted with the issues it took hours to get the problems resolved efficiently. If you have a lot of time and energy to waste, this is the venue for you. read more

I attended the Easter brunch this past weekend. We were seated on the first floor and that buffet was not very good. All of the meats they served were awful. They were dried out and tough to chew. The lobster bisque was very salty. Multiple servers kept reminding us that there was a charge for beverages each time we asked for something, only to come back and tell us they were mistaken and the charge was only for alcohol drinks. They placed on a check on our table after about 1 1/2 hours, even though they had already made us prepay for the reservation and then stopped coming around. I guess signaling us that it was time to leave. There was also a large delay getting the car from the valet and traffic jam trying to exit with cars coming in and out of the same driveway.They were advertising the menu for their Mother's Day brunch which showed items they weren't serving for Easter, which caused a lot of inquires from the guests eating there that day. The worst brunch I've ever had in my life. My family and I went to Mother's Day brunch at the Mansion and from beginning to end it was a total disappointment. We were a party of 7 plus a baby, yet we were given a table that should have sat maybe five people. Our waitress never brought several drinks we ordered. When we finally got coffee for the table (which we had to ask for numerous times) it was cold. The food was cheap and mediocre at best. Our dishes piled up at the table because they hardly came to pick them up. I had to ask at the front desk for the check because we could never find our waitress. I called the manager after this horrible experience and he never called back - I had to call again a week later. Although the facilities are fairly nice, I would not recommend this place to anyone.
