I ended up getting a unique cup made by a local artist, as well as some curry spice and vanilla extract. I'm not sure if the guy working there was an owner or manager, but he was really nice. It wasn't a cheap store by any means, but it was cool and I would return.

We stumbled upon this place after taking pictures with the beautiful street murals and waiting for the ice cream shop next door to open. What a perfect place to spend some time! Unique Notions has such a wide range of beautiful and unique items, all of which are either hand made, vintage, or locally crafted and sourced. There were eco-friendly home goods, bath products, a plant your own succulents station, artwork and cards, crystals, vintage home goods, vintage and hand made clothing, jewelry, and so much more. It is one of those places where you will find something you just HAVE to get! I bought my mom a beautiful local artisan papaya necklace for Mother's Day, some local artist stickers for myself, and a special crystal for my son. I saw about a dozen other things I loved. This would be such a great place to find a gift for a friend, relative, partner, or just to treat yourself! The owner was an absolutely wonderful person who was so helpful. This will be a regular stop when I'm spring hopping near High Springs!

In doors there are holiday items and decorations, home decor, jewelry, linens, kitchen items, office supplies and a good selection of women's, men's and kids clothes, pjs and shoes. For kids, toddler and infant clothes you have to dig through 3 big industrial carts. It's a mess but really worth your effort. The kids clothes are $.50-$1.00 depending on size and there are a lot of name brands in there. I just wish the adult clothes were organized by size. Out the back door there's a whole lot more. Seasonal items like Christmas trees and wreaths. There small kitchen appliances, toys, books, etc. even further out is another building where I found a nice wooden (heavy duty) shelf ($5.00), there's everything from furniture to sporting goods and home healthcare to building supplies. I've been twice and spent an average of 1.5 hours each time. There are plenty of volunteers working. Most are friendly but I have come across two very snobby ones as well. There was a special going on the last time I was there: All jewelry $1.00 each.

Something happened to where she couldn't pick them up, but she called and said she still wanted them and they refused unless she paid again even though they were sitting right there. And they said that they are doing work in the back of the furniture department so she couldn't get them the next day, they told her to come after, so she did. Then she decided to come into the store today (Friday, June 26th) when they told her to come pick them up and pay for them again and my grandmother said that they weren't very kind by doing what they did. And she began to scream at my grandmother. Turned into a screaming match over $6 shelves. Very unprofessional. I've worked at SeaWorld as a manager and I know nasty customers, my grandmother is NOT one of them, she was just talking about how they are supposed to be a community place and it didn't feel that way nor did they act like it. But either way, a professional establishment wouldn't do that and just be calm and nod. Even if they don't agree, fine, move on with your day. But there is no sense at screaming at an old lady. It's sick and disturbing. I really liked this place and I'm very disappointed how they have treated my grandmother. Not sure if I will go back. At the end of it all they said that they didn't have the shelves anymore (not sure if I believe that) and said they would refund her (not sure if they did after all that) the lady had glasses and long grey hair. I'm very upset and disturbed. I can't imagine being that way to someone. UPDATE: I went there to confirm the shelves were gone, they weren't. They lied. And the lady wasn't there. I hope she was embarrassed because over $6 that's ridiculous. Why lie? Terrible service. I'm sorry to the other nice ladies that were there that have a good heart.

This shop will hold a special place in my heart forever!…read more When I was shopping, my boyfriend stumbled upon this place and surprised me by getting my ring reshaped from its very smooshed oval shape back into a circle. He was chatting with Leonard about his projects, and having a good time distracting him from getting his work done, I'm sure, but Leonard was very nice and answered all of his questions. He told us how he makes jewelry and about his different tools, which was fun to learn about. While we were there, Leonard pointed out how delicate my ring had become over the years of wear. It was very thin and starting to separate in places, so reshaping it was tricky. He showed me under a microscope where the ring was worn down. My dad got me the ring in Mexico on my 16th birthday, and I've worn it everyday since then. I'm in my 30's now, for reference...it's been on my hand for over than half of my life. My dad passed away, so I need this ring to last. I asked if he could fix it, and he did me one better: he said he could make a mold of it and create a copy, but make it a bit thicker so it would last longer. That way, I can put my prized ring somewhere safe, but still have one to wear without worrying about it breaking. I just got the new ring back today, and it's absolutely perfect! Did I tear up when I opened it? Maybe.... Thank you so much Leonard! I will definitely be coming back. You've made my 2024!!!
