Nice local bar, seating inside and outside. Drinks could definitely be better, margaritas are made so sour it is undrinkable. Never have i had a sour margarita. It was so sour I asked for sugar. Still was undrinkable. The outside bartender was terrible and refused to make a margarita properly. The inside bartender is terrific and knows how to make a drink. So this is a Bar with a kitchen that is Cash Only. It offers an ATM, Dart Board, Pool Table, TouchTunes, Vending Machine, a Canopy for outdoor seating, and they play Quick Draw. They have about 6 beers on tap and enough room to sit at the bar or the dining area, for small to midsize groups. With separate restrooms for men and women. The only downside was the amount of TV's they had to offer. One at the bar and two within the dining area. But other then that, the place has a fun atmosphere and is worth checking out. read more

Stopped in for the first time the other day for lunch. It was early so i was the only guy there. The bartender was very friendly. She greeted me with a smile as I sat at the bar. I ordered jalapeño poppers and the philly cheese steak wrap. The poppers were on par with fried bar food, but the wrap... oh man was that good. I cant wait to bring my wife here to try that philly cheese steak wrap. They look like a great place to party with their outdoor deck and bar. The waitress had mentiomed that they have a pretty constant stream of live music on the weekends. Gotta check it out! I recommend this business. read more

I was here once . The place is an absolute dump. The later the night gets, the more horrible the crowd gets. They stare at you and almost become cultish. It's not a warm bar and the bartender is nasty (Carla or Carol???). The restrooms are filthy. Bartender allows her friends in and they surround the bar acting immature (the more booze consumed). Way too much drinking and inappropriate behavior. Sad part is you can tell they are all regulars and this is their life. We were by the pool table because the bar area feels like a clique. It's a shame because location is awesome and the place could be so much more than it is. Dare NOT walk in without knowing the bartender. She's only friendly to her cronies. Zero hospitality as another reviewer put it! If you are a biker passing through town on a Saturday/Sunday, I'd say have at it because you are NOT supposed to be drinking and driving anyway. Went for the first time yesterday afternoon for their BBQ Competition/Fundraiser. There was a nice breeze hanging around the place but it got a little too hot for most people. They started to leave around 4pm (guess they too were wondering where the samples were?) The Food Network guy was nothing special (no one that has a show. He had an annoying college kid attitude and his jokes were lame as the chicken on the plate). When I was there, I wasn't hungry because the bbq smell kept me full. (The vendors prices were ridiculous!) As soon as I hit the expressway, I was in trouble. I wanted some bbq. So, I headed home and made my own food. To end on a good note, the car show was pretty good. I saw a lot of Chevy's, wish more than the two Ford Mustangs would've been there. read more

Older crowd, as it always has been. Decent beer, decent prices, great jukebox. Fridays you can swing by a bit later on for some happy hour leftovers (hero, etc) and some competitive pool. Not for a young crowd unless it's just that, a crowd who doesn't mind the stares. Proximity is the only reason I've been and am constantly dragged to return. The land on which the bar is located provides a nice space for a weekend gathering or party, and the interior is a hodgepodge of FD & PD patches complemented by complimentary beverage-brand decorations. Set alongside the extinct LIRR station, Maples is stuck in time, in a good way. Since my first trip when I turned 21, I've made several doomed and triumphant returns with varying closing times. While I still typically sneer at Maples weekend nights in the summer when friends ventured down Dune Road and its environs, 50-cent billiards and a respectable jukebox (Fridays) & live music (Saturdays) aren't terrible options in the other seasons.There's a new Quick Draw TV that puts the tiny old box awkwardly located in the corner to shame. Head outside and around back during the day and at night for some real Manorville kickin' it. Bartenders are nice enough to their older regulars, but expect some derision and sidelong glances if you're even suspected of being under 35 and/or from over 5 miles away at Maples. But 22 & Bangin' 'Round In Restaurants ain't much prettier than hangin' 'round in bars......... Likely the only bar in its category (in the area) that could inspire a song (scour YouTube if you wish). read more

Mostly a biker bar. As an outsider, you are not made to feel welcome. Food is ok. They used to have music but I don't believe that they do anymore. Our bartender was friendly, but some of the local 'kids' (some obviously under 21) made us feel uncomfortable. read more

Well it was a beautiful Saturday afternoon and we sat out on their back deck listening to a really great band from 4:00 - 8:00 pm. The admission was $20 with all the grilled burgers, hot dogs and salads you could eat. The burgers were amazing. The grounds were beautiful. The beers were very varied and very reasonably priced. Yes, there were a lot of bikers but we felt totally welcomed. The people who worked were all very friendly. The customers were too. The bar itself was just that, a bar, but we were outside and everyone was smiling and laughing and having a great time. If I could find out more events like this one, I'd come out to The Maples more often. But just to be clear, I give it 5 stars because we had such a good time outside on the back deck. read more

This ad is mistaken. This bar does not accept credit cards, rather it forces patrons to use their atm so they can make more money off of you. It has the best (and least expensive) pool table around, .50 cents a game. The burgers are great, the beer is very reasonably priced. The regulars are pretty friendly. It has the stigma of being a biker bar, but it isnt the gang type motorcycle riders, it is comprised of mostly blue collar motorcycle enthusiasts. The owners husband is not friendly at all, in fact it is quite the opposite. He stumbles into the bar, grabs yet another free beer and meanders his way around the crowd of patrons whom he never greets and dissapears into the shadows untill his bottle is empty again. The short order cook has an attitude problem (the pudgy blonde one), she often voices her opinion and butts into patrons conversations. She does not realize that her place is in the kitchen and not arguing with customers. I guess she has a sense of entitlement because she has been there for well over a decade. who knows. all in all if the owner kept her grouchy drunk husband out of the bar and the fat cook back in the kitchen it would be a top notch place. but i dont forsee that happening anytime soon. i still tell my buddies to go in there, i just try to ignore the elephant in the room, the amazing bar staff makes that pretty easy to do. read more

very expensive ripoff biker bar . our family made the mistake of going to their barbeque cookoff last weekend and found super inflated prices no clue on parking and several very rude and annoying people that were complaining about the staff and the loss of business the day before. . nice location but very poorly run in a small community. we will never bring our family there again. read more
