Seemed a little trashy to me. Went for karaoke and wasn't a fan of the crowd; pool table kept me sane.

I immediately noticed…read morethe setting; big garage doors open along the large L-shaped bar which made for a great indoor-outdoor atmosphere. There's also a solid amount of outdoor seating, and the space overall feels like it can easily transition into a nightlife or event spot later on. Then our dining experience got underway. The bartender who sat us was friendly. The service however lagged behind thereafter. The service was slow, likely because our waiter seemed to be juggling multiple roles. A few small things were quite a bit annoying. There was no physical beer list, so being rattled off a long list of tap and bottle beers felt like a memorization game that I had to choose a beer on the spot. Also noticed the table and menu felt a bit sticky, suggesting some attention to cleanliness is needed. Food was a mixed bag. The Nashville chicken sandwich was underwhelming--a thin piece of chicken served lukewarm, topped with two pickles, and minimal coleslaw on a Martin's potato roll. The lack of slaw made it harder to balance the spice, and oddly, the fries were hotter temperature wise than the sandwich itself. The Bull Smith burger fared better. It was well-constructed and flavorful, especially with the onion ring and BBQ sauce, and the bun was great. That said, burger came out more a well-done temp than the requested medium-well, which took away from it slightly. A few details stood out more as missed opportunities than real issues: there was no mention of that the special for Monday was pasta night. Also not a mention it was happy hour. And while fry substitutions were offered, the upcharge wasn't disclosed. None of these impacted the final bill negatively, but clearer communication would have improved the experience. Overall, it's a place with a good setup, but inconsistent service, some cleanliness issues and execution hold it back. I might return, but service speed and attention to detail would need to improve.

But if that isn't available, you have to find a spot in the lot and then find the inconvenient sign with a QR code at a $1/hour. The bar was busy when we arrived. We were seated at a table near the windows and were able to see the amazing sunset, as well as the ferry, which both arrived and departed several times during our meal. Our server was Destiny, who was very nice and did her job well. We had ordered some cocktails which took a very long time because there was only 1 bartender attending to the crowd. As for appetizers, we chose the mozzarella steak, the garlic and herb mussels and the cauliflower bites. All were served beautifully and tasted good as well. We also asked for bread and a loaf was served warm with olive oil and a half WELL roasted garlic bulb (most likely used for decoration) but it should have been roasted a lot less for it to be used as a spread. Dinner was the steak frites, twin lobster tails and golden glaze salmon. The steak was served with a salsa verde, the lobster was accompanied by a small gravy boat of drawn butter, a half corn cob and 4 roasted baby potatoes. The salmon, was my dish and was crispy and tasty, served over broccolini stalks and purple forbidden rice. Dessert took a while to come out and we were worried that we wouldn't get back to our car for the expiration of our time. It worked out. 2 of us ordered chocolate cake and I had the cheesecake. The portions were huge! I think what took so long was that they had to open up a new cake because 1 slice was warm and fudgy, while the other was more solid and dense. Not a problem, still delicious. Thank you for a wonderful meal.

My cosmopolitan was delicious as was our fried calamari. My penne a la vodka lacked some taste. I normally like it when it's a little sweeter. My husband got the warm lobster and do not like it at all which stinks. You'd think a restaurant on the water would have good seafood. Not sure why they never brought us out bread. I saw it at another and had to ask our waiter for one. The chocolate cake was fine. I feel like this restaurant changes around a lot. Glad I got to eat here.

3.5 stars overall - it is definitely a college town local watering hole and Grill. Vibes give off…read moresports bar feels. It's definitely good for large groups in terms of seating. We were a group of four but the table seemed like it was meant for six or even eight. The dining room is very spacious and they even have a private back room for events and parties, which looked to be buffet style from what I could see. The bar and counter area was really long. Plenty of space to dine and watch from any angle. There's even a back patio next to the parking area where you can toss the beanbag and play some outdoor games. Serving mainly bar food and casual dining options here. The menu online is very different from what we were given. Think sandwiches and wraps. With a small selection of entrees like grilled shrimp and steak (generous portion) or burgers. Started with the French Onion Soup as it was a cool evening and I wanted something warm for starters. It was quite salty and it did have plenty of onions. Meh Hubby got the steak and shrimp I mentioned before, generous portion on the steak. My son got the steak tips with mashed potatoes. He did enjoy that. My daughter opted for the grilled cheese with bacon and a side of fries which was actually on the kids menu. Not found on the regular menu presented. I had the French Dip (meat was very chewy and the dip was actually more of the onion soup!) This came with a side of fries but I asked to change it to tater tots since it was an option. They were a little mushy, breaking down with each stab of the fork. So afterwards I realized we didn't get the wings or the burgers they claim to be the best in town, but we noticed the other patrons got wraps and wings. Looked quite saucy. Next time.

I've been here on numerous occasions hoping that maybe this would finally be the visit where everything clicked. Unfortunately, it just hasn't happened. My experiences have been so-so, and more often than not they've been slightly disappointing. My biggest complaint has always been the food. My take has been it's been bland or uninspired. The French onion soup was just ok, and seemed like no effort putting this together. No provolone cheese option when I've ordered which is crazy. The Caesar salad tasted diluted, with lettuce that seemed waterlogged rather than crisp and fresh. Just overall underwhelming. The food is not necessarily terrible, but just mediocre and forgettable. Portion size is another problem. For what you're paying, the plates often feel surprisingly small. One example of this was the "Big C Burger," which was honestly a huge letdown. With a name like that you'd expect something substantial. Instead, the burger was tiny--maybe 4-5 ounces at most. At first glance you could barely even see the meat because the bun swallowed it. I ordered it medium and it came out completely overcooked, cooked to death really. The bun didn't help either--dense, dry, and overpowering the already small patty. The whole thing just felt poorly executed. Even the little details were off. I asked for olive oil on the side for a salad and what came out was clearly some generic vegetable oil. It felt like a lazy substitution, the kind of thing that makes you question how much care is going into the kitchen overall. To be fair, the one thing Faraday's consistently gets right is the atmosphere. The restaurant is has a cozy charming space with a warm pub feel. The indoor dining area although small has character and a comfortable vibe. The outdoor area is really nice too, and perfect for setting for a nice meal on a comfortable day. Service is good. I've not had any issues with any servers ever being inattentive. Occasionally some order mixups but quickly rectified. Unfortunately, that inviting setting hasn't translated to memorable meals. After several attempts over the years, Faraday's has remained one of those places that seems like it should be good--but for me, it just never quite hits.
