While in town for a friend's retirement party this past weekend we did a little bar hopping and ended up here on Sunday afternoon for a round of drinks. I loved the holiday decor, right down to the Halloween themed drink stirrers/toothpicks. Our bartender was attentive and engaging too! I would definitely return again in the future!

Wounded warriors NOT WELCOME Sadly this place is not wheelchair accessible (its Yelp description says it is) even though a portable $20 ramp would do the trick. If you a disabled person, don't go here. Shameful

Cozy atmosphere year-round, great bar food, best bartenders in town. The shot wheel is fun, and the new outdoor deck is a great addition to the place for the warmer season.

Me and a few friends sat at the bar. I had my new favorite drink, amaretto sour, and it was great! I ordered a quesadilla which was enjoyable. I must go back for another menu selection. The bartenders were friendly, and the custom were social. I must say they have good music choices. We sang Prince at the bar and enjoyed every moment!

We ordered a frozen Paloma, and a frozen Paloma shot, also got a Oaxaca mule(not pictured). The mule had hints of artichoke and ginger that made you feel like you were tasting heat but not hot. Different but a must try. We ordered the carne asada, ahi tuna, jerk shrimp and the Baja fish tacos. The jerk shrimp and the carne asada were the stars. Shrimp was sweet and spicy and the carne asada melts in your mouth. The ahi was our least favorite, but the baja was pretty good as well. Great place overall

We were greeted very warmly and they had prepared a bigger table for us in the front of the restaurant. The restaurant had lights for the holidays so it felt festive. We ordered from their prix fix menu (main break menu) that was a great deal $12 and change for a drink, app and entree available all day long. I ordered a margarita and it was great, not too sweet and the right amount of alcohol. All the food we ordered was tasty and cooked well. My kids loved the Baja fish tacos (didn't get a pic) and I especially liked the carnita taco. Highly recommend that you make a stop if you're in the area for friendly service and easy, tasty food.

Limited beer selection would be the only thing I would change but you can find something that works. Wine selection is decent. We had the Mussels in a wine sauce which were very good, the oysters Rockefeller which were the best I've ever had, including when I make them, the fish and chips which were outstanding and the brussels sprouts which were also very good. Reservation was easy to make on Resy. We arrived a bit early and they took us in no problem. We've tried a number of places in PJ and we've really enjoyed most of them but I think we're going to be regulars at Castaways. It was really tremendous!

The restaurant was packed, but people were also finishing up their meals so we gave it a shot. We were able to sit outside and the outside dining area was set up really nice and comfortable with bistro lighting and even some potted palm trees. Felt more like San Diego than Port Jefferson. Inside was also tastefully done up in the nautical theme which is good to know if it's a rainy day or in the colder weather. I've read some reviews about the service and we had the exact opposite with super attentive service. Our server, Brianna came over right away and took our order in no time. I mentioned doing a dish gluten free and she asked if I had celiac. She went above and beyond making sure that my meal would be safe to eat and offered substitutions so there would be no cross contamination. I've had the condition for 18 years so I know pretty well what I can tolerate and that most places let you down and I just deal with it. That wasn't the case at all here and Brianna made sure of it. We started off with the spinach artichoke dip and this was one of the best versions I ever had. Like in the top 3 really and one the other two was home made. It was that good. I had plenty of carrots and celery to nosh on with the dip and they kept the bread on a separate plate altogether. Like I said, they really understood my condition I also had bariatric surgery back in the winter and I'm slowly venturing out in the world of solid food. So I picked the surf and turf steak and lobster sandwich. I figured I know I can handle steak if done right and I wouldn't be too bummed if I couldn't tolerate the lobster. Brianna had it served to me on a really good gluten free bun. This sandwich really worked out so much better than I thought it would. The steak was exactly to order and the lobster was super tender. I was only able to have maybe a fifth to a quarter of it. That's equally because that's all I can physically have these days and because the sandwich was beyond huge. The rest of the family's choices were home runs too and included a killer wedge salad, a perfectly cooked burger and salmon. Those were devoured so no complaints with those as well. It should be noted by the reactions by everyone at the adjacent tables were having a very similar experience and it was just a really enjoyable time. Our family is getting older (aren't we all), so diners and moments like this are so special. Castaways definitely held up its end of the bargain. I'm so glad we stopped in, and I can't wait to stop back the next time we're down port.

What an amazing place, they made our night perfect! The service was impeccable, the bus boy so attentive my husband gave him a $5 tip at the end of dinner. To start, you are served some toasted buttery like pieces of bread with hummus. I do not like hummus but my husband said it was the best he's ever had! They did bring me plain bread with homemade butter which was delicious! I chose the chicken spring rolls that came with a mango type sipping sauce as my appetizer. Outstanding, I can't say enough about how delicious the spring rolls are. Filled to the brim with a filling loaded with chicken! I was so tempted to order another serving but I wanted to save room for dinner. I absolutely will next time! Unlike many restaurants, at Fifth Season,, you can choose other side dishes if you're not happy with what your dish is served with as noted on the menu! I wanted the chicken but chose the coconut rice and organic carrots as my sides instead and I have to say, its a MUST for you to try as well. The flavor of each is so perfect, the rice is like a risotto consistency but hard to explain. Just trust me on this, over the top delicious! The chicken was very tasty and flavorful, just needed a little more sauce (that's my liking though! I love lots of extra sauce on my food), but I highly recommend trying this dish! We did not order dessert, my family wanted to get some ice cream in town but I will try dessert next time. The Fifth Season is now in the top five favorite restaurants for me! Unfortunately, I'll have to wait for a weekend to dine there again as I wouldn't make it home in time for during the week but I plan on returning very soon! This is a restaurant to absolutely add to your bucket list! I seriously can't rave enough about it!

*January 2026 Restaurant Week*…read more My wife's bestie made plans for the (4) of us to meet for dinner. We all live close so Fifth Season Restaurant was chosen. I haven't been here in a very long time so I'm excited to see how the restaurant has stayed in business over the years. We are shown to our table upstairs. The bar area on a Friday night looks fun and active. There's great views of Port Jefferson harbor so the restaurant ambiance is nice. We're seated and are given restaurant week menus as well as the wine/cocktail list. Listen, It's Friday nite and I don't want a wine cooler! Give to me a standard Martini stirred (Shaken is just dumb) with stuffed blue cheese olives. The ladies order appletini's and we're ready to order off the restaurant week menu. The menu has a nice selection of different offerings, I'm into all things local so I'm going to start with the beet salad and Red Snapper. The beet salad was loaded with beets! I love beets, they did a good job with this started dish. I must point out, the dish must have been prepped earlier in the day. The green salad was slighty wilted when served to me. The Red Snapper, what is that sauce on top? And the fish was sitting on a bunch of zoodles?? The fish wasn't seasoned, it wasn't very flavorful. I'm eating around the zoodles, meh. The cheesecake I ordered, it was also just a standard dessert. I didn't finish the fish or my dessert. Review is over, Fifth Season Restaurant? See you in another 5 years.

He really tried to make sure I had a good experience and invited me back to enjoy the dining room atmosphere. Because of his excellent service, I left him a 45% cash tip and told him I hoped to return. Unfortunately, the entrée was a big disappointment. I ordered the Linguine Vongole. While the pasta itself was good the kitchen had forced most of the clam shells open split. Having to guess which shellfish might make you sick really ruined the meal. Based on the entree I didn't stay for dessert. Unfortunately not being seated where I originally made a reservation for lead me to an atmosphere of rambling of a drunk sharing some pretty wild ramblings. Between the entrée issue and the drunk distractions, I skipped the rest of the meal, though I really hope the service on a return visit matches the kindness of my main waiter.
