Offut Lake Resort is a fantastic place to spend a few nights. This is a friendly, clean, and well-ran resort with a true local family feel to it. First of all, the lady at the general store (main office) is incredibly friendly and warm. We stayed in the Angler's Den cabin and called ahead a few times with questions. She answered all of them and was very kind and helpful. The cabin came stocked with pots, plans, dishes, silverware, wine opener/bottler opener and really pretty much everything you would need. The cabin was actually quite large and had a true living room, kitchen (with large refrigerator), bathroom, and separate bedroom. There were multiple TV's within the cabin as well. Plus a large comfortable recliner chair! The cabin also had an air conditioning unit, which was much needed during the month of July. Not all cabins have AC, but most do. Offut Lake Resort is also in a densely wooded area with plenty of tall trees, so the shade throughout the resort keeps it much cooler. Even though the temps were in the high 80's when we were there, it was surprisingly shaded and comfortable throughout. The actual resort is nestled within a few neighborhoods near the lake. It is a quiet area and everyone seemed friendly. It was very safe and we were able to take our one year old son on a few long walks throughout the bordering neighborhoods. The resort has a playground with swings, a basketball court, and a larger grass area for other recreational activities. The general store/main office sells items you might need (or have forgot), and also sells beverages such as soda/juice/beer. The Lady of the Lake Restaurant is fantastic and is truly one of the best things about this small resort. It is incredibly convenient to be able to order takeout food for lunch or dinner from the restaurant and bring it back to your cabin. The restaurant is a short 3-5 minute walk from the camp sites and cabins. All of the food we had there was delicious and exceeded our expectations. The food was higher quality and tastier than what you might find at most bar & grills. Eating at the restaurant is also a nice option, and there is a bar there as well. It is a busy restaurant and seems to be a popular place with the locals. The fish & chips were delicious and something we would recommend! They also had a band play at the restaurant on Friday night. The lake is very scenic and tranquil. It is a shallow lake making it fairly warm and the water seemed clean. There is a small grass beach front area with rock wall that leads down to the lake. There are steps to walk down to get to the lake. We would recommend bringing water socks (or some type of water shoes) because the rocks at the bottom of the lake are a little harder to stand on. We brought sand toys, but then when we got there we realized there was no sand or beach area. Not a big deal at all, but just something to be aware of. It is a great lake to bring floaties to and float around. Next time I go back, I'll bring floaties with an anchor to anchor out in the middle of the lake. You can also fish off the dock or rent boats for the day. This is an underrated lake resort for people in Western Washington! I have lived in the Seattle area my whole life and I've never heard anyone talk about this place! The prices are very reasonable, it is a short trek from the Seattle area, and it feels like a true lake getaway. We stayed for two nights, but it would be easy to spend three or four nights there, especially if you rent boats and spent the day out on the lake. The Lady of the Lake restaurant is a great place to end the day and have drinks/dinner. This is a fun family resort, but would also be a fun option for couples or groups of friends. We stayed there in July during a nice streak of sunshine, but this could be a fun place to go in the Spring or Fall as well. read more

I usually go to the dock to go fishing. As a senior citizen, I paid $6.50 to the cashier at the little grocery store they have there. The lady that waited on me is very nice and help me put my arm band on. I went down to the dock. The dock is in very good shape with a new crafts meaning boats. Also, they have some new seats that have been repaired. It is very clean and wonderful fishing. I limited and was very happy. I've never been to the restaurant, but it looked very sharp and very clean. I might try that soon if you wanna place to go and have some dock fishing and it's very quiet This is the place to go. read more

This place was an alternative location to the Wolf Lodge. I got a cabin for three nights, and four days. It was wonderful, the kids loved the loft and the personal space. The kitchen worked well for us, and it was abit tight for four people, however we were only there a little while. The lake was beautiful, and the people welcoming. I will let you know if you rent a boat on the lake and are talking on the lake. They can hear you on shore. Just a heads up . I would return there anytime. read more

This is one of the worst places to go camping. We pulled in Wednesday early evening, set up our 2 rv sites and proceeded to have fun. Not once did anyone come tell us we were being too loud. The lady with the funky hair called all of us down to the office and proceeded to read off the complaints she received, which were duplicates. She also made us pay for a tent site even though we pitched the tent on the 2 rv sites. She also made us sign a piece of paper saying that we would be quiet during quiet time or we would be kicked out with no r efunds. We told her we were sorry and she would not drop it. She than proceeded to tell me she's never been so disgusted. All we were doing was having fun. We were not meaning to be loud or obnoxious and if anyone would've said pool something we would've stopped. When we told the lady this she proceeded to tell us that they didn't need to say anything to us, they told her. I've never felt so small in my life. Beware quiet hours are 10pm to 7 am. To bad the kids at the next tent site didn't realize this at 6:30 am. read more

Beautiful place to stop for a day or a week. Staff is extremely friendly and kind. We were running late yet they trusted us to pull in when they were gone and pay them the next morning instead. A lot of friendly cats wander the campground and make for fun company on walks. Only downside is that the phone signal is NONEXISTANT but that shouldn't be a problem since it's camping right? Would definitely recommend this place to friends and family! read more

After 13 years of fishing here This may be my last. Came to fish and when I went to pay for my dock fee I was told there was a $10 minimum purchase for using a card. Forcing me to buy something in their store or I couldn't fish at all after driving an hour..... All it did was just force me to return down to the dock and pack up my stuff and never come back!! The resort has small rental boats available starting at around $40 for a 4 hour rental. Honey Buckets are available. Fishing licenses sold here. More fish to catch than what you could ask for. Quiet lake. Excellent, friendly staff. Been here twice. Third visit will probably be next week. Highly recommend it if you're looking for a comfortable, relaxing day on a lake with a fishing rod without being crowded on a dock or boat launch. Bring your gear. This is a favorite place for me and my friends. The Lady of the Lake restaurant has a small bar and it sits right on the edge of the lake. The food isn't the very best, but the artichoke, spinach dip is delicious. The ambiance is the best, as is Debbie, our favorite waitress. read more

Staying at Offut was the best decision my boyfriend and I made while biking from Portland to Seattle. It was ADORABLE and everyone was super friendly. We stayed in one of the three little private cabins - I can't touch on how cute and nice it was there. The cabin seemed relatively new, spotlessly clean, and even had its own private bathroom with a shower! To die for. The lakefront area was peaceful and got some great sunlight in the evening. The grounds around the RVs and other cabins were well-kept and there were some communal areas with benches, tables, swing sets, etc, to eat in and for the kids to play around. I would definitely come back to Offut and highly recommend it to anyone that needs a place to stay in that area. read more

I'm currently here and it's our last night. I'm sad to leave here. The campground is small but very nice. They have areas for tents and RV's. They also rent yurts and cottages. At the pier you can go fishing or rent various water boats. The fishing is great here and even the inexperienced (me) caught a fish! The lake is very calm and views are wonderful! They do charge for pets but it's a low enough rate. The staff.... wonderful....attentive and helpful. I can't wait to come back and I haven't even left yet! read more

You must go eat lunch or dinner at the Resort! Its the best I have ate in Washington State! The best tasting Swiss Steak Sandwich! Smothered in cheese plenty of steak that is juicy and grilled perfectly! I went back again and I am excited to go back and try the battered fish. Check the hours before you go. Offut lake rv is its own little utopia! Quaint, cozy, very well maintained, but the people are what truly make it. Family owned by the same fantastic friendly, warm family since the 90's. Your face is never forgotten, when you arrive 3 years later, it's like you never left. The fishing and docks are great. I cannot say enough good things about Offut lake, rv park, cabins and general store..... and then there's the lady of the lake public house! Where can you get stupendous food prices affordably sitting on the lake front? Here! Fish and chips, prime rib dinner is 19$!!! And amazing! Cozy atmosphere without being stuffy. Again superb service! This is a must do experience! Stop in, bring your poles and your appetite, stay in a cozy cabin or your rv, start your campfire and get to know Becky, Rob, Shannon and Bob. Ok so I had mixed feelings on this resort as my stay went on... So let me start by saying as a small business owner myself I really like supporting family ran businesses. Pros - the place was clean & the house was big depending on what you're looking for. Its not like camping, it is a house with a yard. This was was nice & needed for the dogs we traveled with. - Cons 1) Not very welcoming we felt like we were a bother my husband said it perfectly they are very polite about not being able to help you. 2) Everything you asked the staff was a negative answer. How's fishing? Horrible it's after July 4th there's no trout to catch. Ok what should we fish for? There's some crappie & blue Gil around... The first boat I seen come in I asked what did you catch, 3 trout. Asked what was going on tonight in the restaurant. Staff: The bands not that good. We rented a boat, didn't catch anything. Asked if we could keep the boat an extra hour & told no that it was too big of a deal to recharge the motor. Ok so no extra money from me for the boat, not going to check out the restaurant, general store closed when we returned the boat so no money spent there on supplies. They basically told me no on spending an extra $100+. Not sure how they make it here but with a little better customer service they might do better. The locals in Tenino were amazing super friendly but when you arrived at the lake resort the treatment was the opposite. This is a good spot if you want to enjoy family time, not a good fishing spot in late summer. Locals said it's pretty fished out by this time of year. Last I found a camera hidden in the trees accross the street pointing directly into the the lil red cabin & it's yard! I don't know if this belongs to the resort owner or the neighbor either way I found this very intrusive & a invasion of my privacy. I paid over $500 on my 2 day stay here & feel uncomfortable the entire time. Be sure to close the blinds & know there is nothing private about the yard. read more

Just giving people the scoop on the lady on the lake resort. The staff is only out to make money and doesn't care about customer service. I've been there 3 times. And every time the customer service gets worse. Beware when renting a boat. The info on there site isn't accurate. I took a day off in the middle of the week to take my girlfreind fishing. Asked for a pontoon boat with a ladder so we could swim also. The info on the wall behind the counter. Stated pontoon boats 4hrs. 75 bucks. But when I got out on the water. She had put 2 hours on my return card. We then called twice from the boat asking why our time was so short. They said because that particular pontoon boat was better then the rest because of its steering wheel. There for it's more money half the time. THE PROBLEM IS THE OWNERS DIDNT GIVE US THAT INFORMATION OR A CHOICE. JUST CHARGED US AND PRETTY MUCH GAVE ME THE GET LOST TREATMENT. In fact when I brought the boat in initially. The guy on the dock was surprised to see us back. I feel like they pulled one over. The boat was dirty and steered terrible. I couldn't barely keep it going straight. After speaking to them 3 times.....still no help or discount or anything.....just terrible service. I've also had to pay full price for a dock pass once just for having a freind pick me up off there dock. After I explained I'm simply just being picked up by another boat off the dock and wont be fishing. The older man behind the counter says "well....ya gonna use my dock.....gonna have to pay." And charged me a day pass for the whole 5 minutes I spent on his dock. As the customer I left spending around 100 bucks to fish for 2 hours on a terribly maintained pontoon boat. THE CUSTOMER SHOULDNT LEAVE A PLACE LIKE THIS FEELING ROBBED.....I DID. SO IF YOU READ THIS DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND GO TO ONE OF THE WAY BETTER NEARBY LAKES TO HAVE FUN. I HOPE THIS HELPS PEOPLE. If camping means being repeatedly harassed by the rat tailed lady up front, being told we can't talk after 10 and if she hears any f-bombs were being kicked out! So you shouldn't drink either! Waste of money, no access to running water of any kind, except a faucet that only dripped when turned on. We payed over $150 to camp for 3 days. Left after being made so uncomfortable on day one! We're not offered any kind of refund. Btw was just me and my boyfriend and we went to bed at 10:30! Never stay here again! read more

This will sound like an unusual thing to say about a campground, but Offut Lake Resort exceeded my expectations more than any other place I've ever stayed - including cruise ships, resorts, hotels, and especially other campgrounds. The good: Clean facility, charming cozy cabins to rent (each with its own personality), karaoke on Saturday night (go early so you don't have to go after the surprising local talent), lots of shade, a central playground for the kids, a well-stocked store at the entrance that doesn't gouge you on prices, close to "civilization" if you forget anything, reasonable prices, friendly proprietors who obviously love what they do, fishing and swimming and boat rental at the resort's lake dock, Lake Offut doesn't allow gas motors on watercraft so it's quite peaceful. The bad: Really just nitpicky stuff. The outhouses down by the lake were rank (but real toilets were just a bit further away). The boats had some wicked spiders on them at night. Didn't catch any fish (though there's a fish pen at the dock where a kid could catch one easy). Thornbushes, especially around playground, could have been trimmed back more. Overall, a delightful 4-day stay. I told my wife I could happily live in our cabin (the "Bait Holder") if I were a bachelor. It had a shower, toilet, small fridge, small microwave, range, large sink, cabinet space (with blender, toaster, coffee maker), a comfy bed, cable TV with DVD player, and a fun, spacious loft for the kids. The other cabins were different - one had bunk beds, one had air conditioning, one was a yert. Lots of RV and camping space with fire pits at each. If you like camping, check it out (especially if you're like me and don't like the "roughin' in" parts of camping)! read more

I was just here for a family reunion this past weekend 8/5-8/7/2016. The gal that checked us in was just really rude to us. Kept repeating herself about how she was going to charge my friends mom credit card $25.00 if no one in our party was wearing their bracelet. The cabin that my friend and I had smelled like cat pee and moldy. On Saturday went and rented a paddleboat. Well that ended up being broken. The handle on the steering was broken on the one side and there was a lot of play in it also to where you could hardly keep it going straight. Went up to the bathroom on Sunday and someone was trying to use the coin operated shower and couldn't get it to run. On the cabins that have running water they keep an eye out on how much water you use. That Sunday after we checked out we saw the guys going around to get garbage and all and they were taking the firewood back that wasn't used to resell it. Firewood cost you 6.99 for a bundle and kindling was 2.00. The porta potties down in the tent area by the lake part smelled and hadn't been cleaned out for at least a week or more. The mens bathroom was the worst from my understanding. You couldn't park your vehicle down at the cabin we were in or at the campsites in that area. You could only pull your car down to load or unload. My car fit perfectly there. I even asked her about parking there and she said if I let you then she would have to let everyone else. I do know this I am never going back there and neither are others. Oh yeah the day of the reunion on Saturday she charged different amounts for vehicles. I do know that one vehicle was charged 40 bucks and the other was charged 17 bucks. From my understanding the gal that runs it was very rude to a lot of people in our group and other people that checked in that we talked to. I would avoid this place. It is NOTHING like the website says it is. Even the fire pits we small. The cabin we were in you couldn't sit around it due to the fact it was on a slope. read more

All the campsites are crammed together and there's ONE bathroom for the whole site (13 tent sites, 18 RV sites)...and that means ONE toilet and ONE shower in the men's and women's. RV sites are extremely close together. My wife went to the office with wet hands to let them know they're out of paper towels in the bathroom and was told (by the owner no less) that she "just came on duty" and she ignored my wife after that! Others in our group had similar experiences with staff. We reserved sites for 40 people in the fall for the following summer and were told prices "might go up a buck or two". Fair enough. When summer came they had raised the price on tents sites 25%! Pet fees had gone up 66%! Rather than acknowledging the rate increase, the owner repeatedly tried to ignore it. Literally. She simply didn't want to talk about it...such strange behavior! We actually thought they'd be grateful for our business, but they never did scale back on the price gouging, not even ten cents. We brought thousands of dollars of business and we were treated like we were at fault, literally. Our entire family will never again spend money at Offut Lake Resort or Lady of the Lake restaurant. We are kind, well-intentioned people who rarely take a disliking to anyone. In this case, good riddance Offut Lake Resort and we take this time on Yelp to warn others of the small, expensive, poorly-managed Offut Lake Resort. Keep looking, you'll be glad you did! My husband and I booked for 3 nights at this resort. It could have been a very good experience, given that the staff seemed very friendly, and the owners, Becky & Bob, assisted us in various helpful ways (providing a hair tie-back when I forgot mine at home, and allowing us to check in after hours and pay in the morning). The problem came when the couple next door kept us up two nights in a row with their domestic violence. The first night we were bolted out of sleep at 2 am with a shrieking noise that we could not quite detect the location, and died down fairly soon. The second night, we had heard the couple in a heated argument during the day, so we had more clues, but were awakened with her screeching, "Why do you always have to do this?" accompanied with loud banging and slamming noises around 12:20 am. When we notified Becky the following day we were assured that since she had already talked with them the day before (when we complained about the day-time arguing), she would post a notice for them to leave before the night. Unfortunately, she changed her mind when they convinced her how nice they were. She offered to move us one cottage over, so as to have one cottage of space between us, but moving to another location and then getting up just to pack up and leave the next morning was too cumbersome. We were refunded a night, since we weren't staying, but, in the end, those causing disruption were the chosen guests of the resort, and our vacation was marked by sleepless nights and unnecessarily shortened. Of course, the owners tried to please us all, but, failed to realize it's just not possible. I think the most disconcerting part of this is that Becky used the excuse that she had to follow the laws and regulations, which prevented her from kicking the couple out without other complaints (besides ours). The fact that her stories didn't match really dropped our trust in the resort's ability to take care of their customers appropriately. The two stories were: 1) They've been warned, so I'll kick them out, and 2) I can't kick them out, because the law prevents it. I looked up the civil code for RV rent laws and this is one of the reasons to terminate a rental agreement to RV campers and tenants: "Conduct by the resident or guest, upon the park premises, which constitutes a substantial annoyance to other occupants, tenants, or residents." This certainly does not state how many people need to be "annoyed" in order for termination to take place. It's sad that Offut Lake Resort prefers quarreling couples as their guests over those who are peaceful, clean and respectful. We will not be back, given this standard that they have made clear. read more
