Lobster roll
Amy C.

Went tonight for dinner, the food was great and so was the service. This is my first time coming back since the new ownership change about a year ago. The service was good, and the atmosphere is nice on the water.

Narisa B.

took a day trip from upstate NY to Vermont. loved every moment of it. stopped to have dinner by the water is always a good idea! The Marina did not disappoint. food was delicious and seafood was fresh. loved the view of the water and boats. staff was friendly. interior of the restaurant was so pretty as well! loved the decor. i'd def go here again when im in the area!

Two turkey burgers on each sandwich, burgers were good with the flame broiled flavor but a bit chewy. Buns were stale. Opted for onion rings as side for one, side salad for the other. Onion rings decent, side salad fresh. We each had 2 margaritas. Tasty, not too strong, but a bit pricey. Service was good once they finally sent a waiter over. Nice view sitting by water.

Claim chowder

The clam chowder was delicious, good amount of clams and the consistency was nice and thick. The lobster ravioli which was the daily special was absolutely divine. They did not skimp out of the lobster. Will say it took the server a long time to refill water. Service could be better, but it's worth it for the food.

Braised Oso Buco, fantastic flavor, frozen in the middle, as far as the carrots go bland, bland land not an ounce of seasoning :(

Despite The Marina only having a 3.5-star rating on Yelp, I came in with high hopes based on several glowing 5-star reviews. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to those expectations--not just for me, but for the four others in my party as well. Let's start on a positive note: the outdoor seating by the river was lovely. It created a calm, relaxing dinner vibe, and the restaurant even provided blankets as the night air cooled, which was a thoughtful touch. For appetizers, we ordered the feta buffalo dip, clam strips, and New England clam chowder. The clam strips were pretty standard--nothing special--but the chowder was quite good. The feta dip, surprisingly, was a hit. It came with chickpeas, which I'm usually not a fan of, but it was absolutely delicious. I could've eaten the whole plate myself. That said, one of the biggest issues of the night was the very long wait for our food. From the time we ordered to the time entrees arrived, it took far longer than what would be considered reasonable--even with the restaurant being moderately busy. It definitely added to the overall frustration of the experience. Now to the entrées: * My wife had the salmon. She said it was cooked well but lacked seasoning. The accompanying carrots were plain--just steamed, with no salt or flavoring at all. * One of our friends ordered the steak tips after seeing them at nearby tables (they looked great), but his came out over-charred. He said the flavor underneath was good, but the burnt exterior ruined it. * Two of us, including myself, ordered the Osso Buco with creamy polenta. The polenta was thicker than expected--more like mashed potatoes--but the flavor was good. I thought it was just okay overall, though my friend really enjoyed it. The meat was well-seasoned and tender... until we both got about halfway in and discovered the centers of our braised shanks were frozen. Not cold--frozen. To her credit, our waitress handled it professionally. She comped both dishes and even told us, to our surprise, that it was the second time this had happened that night--which seriously raises concerns about what's going on in the kitchen. Needless to say, we left disappointed. The setting was beautiful, and a few bites stood out, but the long wait times, inconsistent food quality, and major kitchen errors make it unlikely that any of us will be returning.

Carrot cake
Steve M.

We split the Father's Day special: prime rib was perfectly done, and the asparagus was perfect. We had carrot cake for dessert. Our waitress was excellent. We ate outside on the patio overlooking the river

Beet burger with onion rings

Another great dinner. We usually come once a month and they have a new menu now I had the beat burger with onion rings he had the pulled pork sandwich with french fries! Both were delicious and we took home half! We had the maple glazed brussels sprouts with no bacon ... it was delicious!

Still missing the mark. Luke warm curry with a random French fry AND a random noodle in the rice dish I had.

Great views. Had the Mac and cheese and hubby had the cheeseburger. Both were well cooked and tasty. Not far from I91 as we headed to VT.

Our server was horrible and rude. Kept saying about how much work he has to do. I didn't ask? Unprofessional to make your guest feel guilty.

Good bar and big menu. Decent burgers, but fried items seemed like the oil was maybe old, good service too.

The beignets were the star of the show!! Plus the burgers are great too Service: 5/5 spot on and extremely efficient. To the point where we noticed that there's not one slacker on the staff, they work together and meet the needs of every customer. Exceptional! Vibe: 5/5 we love a good bar food, low frills place. It's homey and fun without being over the top. Overall would come back every time we're in Brattleboro

The space itself is small, so I'd definitely suggest calling ahead to see if they have room. There's basically no indoor waiting area, and standing by the door or outside in the winter, like we did, got uncomfortable enough that we almost left for another place, even though the wait was only about 20 minutes. Our server was friendly and tried to stay on top of things, but you could tell she was a bit overwhelmed with how busy it was and the constant flow of people coming through the door. In our group, a couple of the burgers came out very undercooked, with blood pooling on the plate. No one had been asked how they wanted their burger cooked and it wasn't mentioned when we ordered, so it was an unpleasant surprise even if it wasn't exactly anyone's "fault." I ordered the spicy Korean fried chicken sandwich, which ended up being just okay. The bottom of the bun was soggy, so it fell apart and was hard to pick up and eat. The kimchi on the sandwich didn't bring much flavor or heat, so it kind of missed the mark for something that's supposed to be a bold, spicy option.

It was fairly well accommodated - we got four tables of 6 to ourselves and organized as needed. As a longtime 99 connoisseur going back to my college days, I had an idea of what to expect here. I offer the following on each point. * Food: A weak 4 stars. I had two apps. The mozzarella moons were overdone and a little underfilled but not bad in terms of taste. Right amount of dipping sauce. I also went for seafood stuffies - a pair of stuffies instead of one stuffie + chowder (lunch special). That was disappointing, as the stuffie was mostly stuff and very little clam. I've been to a good number of places in Greater Rhode Island that serve it up right, chock full of chopped clam. But overall food tasted great, I tried a couple of leftover fries and those were solid, and there were no leftovers. * Service: A bit jumbled. Orders all around us were not sure which table they were going to. A couple of times we were asked around about a dish none of us ordered. Now, everything we did order came out correctly, so there's that. And they kept my water glass filled. * Ambiance: The typical. A little limited by the hard barriers between tables, but plenty of room for 20+ people. I just feel like with the slow death of "old casual" restaurants like Applebee's, TGI Fridays, Houlihan's, and similar, 99 is more of the same and next on the block if they don't make a couple of changes. I'd rather pay an extra dollar or two to have my food not only taste good, but be packed with the ingredients I love. I'd rather pay an extra dollar or two to have quick, reliable service. Dear 99: Be more like the Cheesecake Factories and LongHorn Steakhouses of the land.

Very dated on the inside but I think that's supposed to be part of it's "charm". We were one of maybe four parties (all less than 3 people in each) and the server, who was a semi-nice older woman, seemed SO lost and overwhelmed for the place not being busy. Very frazzled and it took a while to get drink refills and the additional sauce we had originally ordered with our meal. The menu isn't vast, so don't go in expecting to try something new. We opted for the Vermont burger, and the Double Smash burger. They were....eh. Nothing to write home about. Being known for their fresh ingredients (according to google) I would have to disagree. Everything seemed pretty standard..frozen fries/frozen patties etc. Maybe I am wrong but that's how it had tasted.
