This pub has a modern vibe which is perfect for the area. The food was very good and my husband loved his IPA. There are a few big negatives about this establishment. I'm a wine drinker and the pub only had one kind of white wine to offer which wasn't my favorite. They serve everything in plastic with plastic utensils. I had delicious chicken on my Cobb salad which I couldn't cut with a plastic knife. Instead of a cloth napkin or even paper napkins, they supplied a role of paper towel to wipe your hands. The prices for their quality food is too high if you're cheapening out with plastic silverware and paper towel. read more

Snow Republic Brewing has quickly become a welcome addition to the afternoon scene! We have been there twice now and I was really impressed with their beer list - a fantastic selection with something for everyone. The atmosphere is great, a nice, relaxed pub vibe, and the service was excellent; friendly and attentive. It's refreshing to find a place open in the afternoon with such a solid pub food menu, and everything we ordered looked and tasted delicious. While the food was definitely a highlight, a few minor tweaks would elevate the experience. We ordered an appetizer, and while it was tasty, we were a little surprised that it wasn't served with app plates and utensils. Providing those would make enjoying the food much more comfortable. The basecamp sauce was a little thick , and it would be great with a honey mustard sauce (the mustard was missing on our second visit) Also, while I understand they focus on their impressive beer selection, it would be wonderful to see a more robust wine list with some additions (such as Pinot Grigio) to the wine list for those who prefer something different. Overall, though, Snow Republic is a winner. The great beer, good food, pleasant ambience, and excellent service make it a place I'll definitely be returning to. Just opened like 2 weeks ago! The Basecamp Burger was very juicy and delicious, highly recommend. Also really loved the Pollination Station beer which has lavender and rose hips and is super floral. Went for lunch on Wednesday 10/9. Bartender came over greeted us and took our drink and appetizer order. 30 minutes later he asked if we wanted to place a drink order. We said we already had placed an order. He brought the drinks over and we ordered our meals. A half hour later we got our appetizer. Pretzel bites and fried pickles. At this point we had been there for over an hour. An hour later our meals arrived. Burgers were hot but French fries were cold I mean room temperature. This place hit the spot on our way back down to Connecticut from Killington. Other spots in town were long waits but we got seated quickly here. Awesome service and good vibes. Food isn't gourmet but that's not the point of a spot like this. It was all solid and has good variety for your group. Had a really good time and hope people give this place their business. First off just from the windows looking in this place is very inviting! I was in there the Sunday after Christmas and it was very busy, that being said the food came out fast and hot, and perfectly fit the menus description. Took my wife and wife's cousin for lunch. The crew were very welcoming and offered us samples for everything we drank. The staff chatted with us (we were the first customers of the day) and then some more folks came in. Staff were very responsive to everyone and we didn't have to wait to ask for anything. Pretzel bites, Nashville Chicken Sandwich, Wings, and Reuben with a shared basket of fries, all portions EXTREMELY generous. You will not leave here hungry at all. I had the Shamrock Shake beer for the hell of it and can imagine it is a great winter beer. Their habanero beer, in my opinion, is a must try. The beer features the taste of the pepper without the crazy heat, which may sound like it defeats the purpose but I enjoy the flavor of hot peppers...what can I say. This former bank building has been transformed into a casual comfortable eatery. The menu is excellent re beer and wine selections and the food items are limited but excellent. My companion loved her pale ale with lavender. We had burgers which were juicy and generous, cooked to perfection and served with a basecamp sauce, pickles and lettuce. The burger had a sweet marinade flavor and the slight heat of the basecamp sauce melded perfectly with the sweet. Fries were generous and not greasy. The server was knowledgeable, helpful re allergies and very kind and attentive. There are vintage video games for those inclined to play same. Restroom is very clean. Overall this is an amazing addition to downtown Brattleboro. We hope they thrive and prosper! read more

The beer is fine. It's beer. Everything else is bad. The service - one waitress, one bartender on a Saturday night. The place was packed. The table next to my group had nearly finished their drinks and stopped the lone waitress to ask about their food orders that they put in "forever ago". Hearing that, I stopped her as she was running around to cancel my fried pickles order. If it took that group a long time to get their food, then there was no way I was gonna get mine in a normal amount of time. Lots of people seemed to be waiting for their orders. It took my group 15 minutes to get 3 draft beers. We watched our waitress text at the bar. The vibe is weird. It's mostly office lighting. By the bar there are lamps to give it a little ambiance. I just arrived in Brattleboro and stopped by Snow Replublic for a cocktail killing time while my wife was at a knitting class. not much of a beer drinker however they recommended a Pilsner and it was an excellent beer plus the hamburger was one of the best . The place was modern and very comfortable. The only thing I would recommend is that they should be able to view sporting events, such as golf and upcoming football games during the season. They had a nice pool table in the center of the place. Everything was just very comfortable with a inviting atmosphere . I went here for diner and ordered wings and fries. Not a complicated combo for a pub/bar. Both were entirely inedible. The wings were overcooked to the point where they were tough, chewy and stringy. I tried a few and they were uniformly overcooked. Not to worry, I like my fries an overcooked and crunchy. Imagine my surprise when the fries were raw and hard on the inside. I'm not sure how they pulled that off but they did. The waitress was very understanding and offered to remake my food but if they couldn't get something as basic as that correct on the first try I was unwilling to give them another shot. She apologized and removed them from our bill. I don't know if I'll go back. Their menu is uncomplicated, which is fine for what they are but if the back of the house can't get those few items cooked well each time, it's too much of a roll of the dice for me. read more

I really wanted this place to be good, but I was sadly disappointed. The food was clearly frozen and premade, giving off cafeteria vibes, especially the burgers. The fries were depressingly starchy--just not enjoyable. The pub is housed in an old bank, and while that's a cool concept, the acoustics were terrible. The music volume was way too high, and without open windows, it felt like the sound was bouncing around everywhere. The one saving grace was the beer, which was above average, but unfortunately, that's not enough to bring me back. In a place like Dover, maybe they can get away with subpar food, but I don't see them lasting long in a small downtown unless they seriously step up the quality. Hopefully they can recognize that food quality is going to make or break their investment and they up their game.
