I really wanted the cheesecake stuffed French toast because it sounded amazing. We placed an order to go, as breakfast was coming to a close and we had some errands to run. The French toast and the berries were very good. Nice and sweet. The cheesecake filling was just okay. It didn't really taste like cheesecake and had a little bit of an off consistency. It wasn't bad but just not what I expected. The bacon was very delicious though. The business name is appropriate. The sausage links were average and pretty greasy. Wow. This was not a great experience. I had seen the reviews that sometimes it took a while to get your food, but since we weren't in a rush, we decided to try it. We ordered a BLT, a burger, a side of bacon, and a piece of banana cream pie for the three of us. Fifty-five minutes later, the burger came out raw instead of medium. I had reached out to the server five minutes before to see if she could check on our meals. There was absolutely no sense of urgency on her part. I've been a server before, and if anybody's meals were taking that long, I would be in the kitchen checking every couple of minutes as well as apologizing profusely for the delay. And while there had been a big party when we got there, they already had their food. By the time we finally got ours there were a few two tops and a few people sitting at the counter, so I'm not sure what the problem was. We weren't willing to wait any longer for them to cook a burger, so we said we would pay for our sodas and leave. My coworkers who were out in the field recently, had breakfast at Bacon Me Crazy in Hinsdale and had mixed opinions about this place. I will say the bacon and sausage gravy was highly recommended. Bacon Me Crazy serves traditional breakfast and lunch 5 days a week and just by the name, most of the food items served here have bacon. They offer flavored bacon here including cherrywood, maple, bourbon, sweet & spicy, honey chipotle, hickory brown sugar. The breakfast offerings here include egg dishes, omelettes, bacon & sausage gravy, pancakes, waffles, French toast, corned beef hash, home fries, bacon, and sausage. The lunch offerings include burgers & sandwiches served with chips or fries (add $1), chicken tenders, salads, soup/chowder, and bacon fried ice cream. They also serve coffee and Coke products. They also have a kids menu and the prices here seem pretty reasonable, most items under $10 with a few over $11.99-$12.99 (corned beef & hash and steak & eggs). I decided to make a trek to Hinsdale to try this place out for lunch takeout, which is located on Main Street next door to the local police station. This place used to be Smitty's Pizza, which I actually visited a few years ago. I ordered a Monte Cristo with Fries ($8.99) and Bacon Fried Ice Cream ($2.99), which was ready and packed to go in about 15 minutes after ordering. The place was quite busy with most tables in the dining area occupied and the stools at the lunch counter all freed up. I enjoyed the Bacon Fried Ice Cream first, which was vanilla ice cream surrounded with a fried crunchy coating with bacon bits in the mix and topped with chocolate sauce. Next the Monte Cristo was comprised of ham, turkey, bacon, melted Swiss cheese, house sauce in between 2 soft slices of egg coated French toast. However. the good amount of golden fries were on the soft side and oily, not crispy, which indicates the fryer oil was not hot enough or the fries were not deep fried long enough. I ate a few fries, but I will reheat at home in my broiler to make the fries hot and crispy. In all, the food tasted good and the service was prompt in getting my order and food ready. read more

Seven bacons. The menu starts with seven different bacons, in sides of two and five slices. In my entire adult life, eating all around North America, I have maybe eaten somewhere that served *two* separate bacons on the same menu, but never SEVEN! The menu was a delight. We had a late breakfast. I had the peanut butter & banana stuffed waffle, she had the jumbo nutella stuffed pancake with bananas. They're not kidding about the jumbo. The stack was the size of a full single-layer cake. Everything was prepared perfectly, and I wish I could come back for the bacon-stuffed lunch menu. I'll have to settle for adding bacon to my own homemade reuben. I would drive at least an hour out of my way to visit Bacon Me Crazy again. Maybe more. Late morning on a Tuesday. 6 people in the place all eating except one table of 2 waiting for food. Very quiet. I sat at the counter. The waitress was in a nice discussion with a customer and 5 minutes later acknowledged me and handed me a menu. I would have ordered an omelette, but frankly, $16 plus another $4 for home fries and $3 for coffee seemed a bit high for a small town breakfast place. So I ordered 2 eggs, home fries, and bacon at a more realistic price point. First of all, the coffee was horrible, tasting like food service coffee. Oh well. 25 minutes later, I was still waiting for my order of 2 eggs. I actually put down a few bills to pay for my coffee and had gotten up to leave when the waitress emerged from the kitchen with my plate. Nothing bad about the food. Nothing good. There's a huge focus on their bacon, but I found mine not crisp , and chewy. Not the good chewy. The kind of chewy that says it was a bit undercooked and then it sat there for a while. Priced too high, and poor service though the waitress seemed pleasant enough. The only reason I can see to stop here is literally because I think it's the only food place in town. read more

Went in on a busy Sunday for breakfast. The service, the food and ambience was perfect. The pancake (just one) was bigger than my plate so I had to ask for another one. Ended up taking half home. I ordered a side of the maple bacon but should have asked for it crispy. My bad. I don't like the fatty part of bacon if it's not cooked to a crisp but I do take full responsibility for not asking. This little cafe in the heart of historic Hinsdale, New Hampshire is one of those places I wish I could keep secret, but really need to share. Husband and I had a wonderful breakfast visit today. It was our first, but most definitely won't be our last. Husband ordered the 3 Little Piggies omelet. This is a 5 egg omelet stuffed with an assortment of cheeses, ham, bacon, and sausage. It's served with a choice of toast (white, wheat, rye, sourdough). My husband said he thought this was the kind of dish that would be an eating challenge for a game show or something...but he ate it all. I opted for the cheesecake stuffed French toast - three slices of tasty Texas toast filled with a creamy cheesecake cream. I also ordered maple bacon - two thick slices, perfectly cooked, and super tasty. There are several types of flavored bacon available...maple, bourbon, brown sugar, peppered, and others that I can't recall. Bacon Me Crazy isn't a fancy restaurant. It's cozy with cute porcine decor and a very friendly staff. They're open for breakfast and lunch daily. Almost forgot! The cost for our meals plus two bottomless cups of coffee was just under $30 plus tip. Not bad...especially since husband says he still couldn't eat a thing...and it's almost bedtime! read more
