The restaurant in the Grand Summit Hotel at Mount Snow. The food is average to good based on a few visits but it's never been remarkable. That said the menu is small and the space has strong discount hotel chain conference room vibe. The staff is friendly and the bar is usually fairly lively. It's certainly convenient for the hotel and it's pretty kid-friendly. The hotel has a small arcade/game-room so you can send the kids away if they are old enough. Plus It's convenient to the hotel and lodging near the main-base area. I wouldn't go out of your way to seek this place out, but if you are close by the resort it's a decent option. read more

We have eaten here in the past and enjoyed it but unfortunately this recent experience wasn't great. Our appetizers came out cold, which is ironic because the server told us to be careful as the skillet was extremely hot (I literally picked it up by the handle, lol). After they reheated it we were sorry we didn't just return it because it was tasteless. My wife's "Harriman Salad" was basically a plate of greens. There were no walnuts or cheese or anything else that was supposed to be in it. The dressing tasted like they spooned some dijon mustard into a cup. Needless to say we returned the salad. The waitress was the only saving grace. She was very pleasant and empathetic. The bus person though proceeded to scrape every ones plates onto one plate and stack them on the table in front of us. I would expect this at McDonalds, lol. BTW, we were charged for the above mentioned returned salad until we brought it to their attention and asked to please remove it from the bill. They told us they would comp us desert for the disastrous dinner. Not wanting to take advantage we only ordered for our two daughters and my wife and I passed on dessert. We were charged for one of the desserts. There were other issues as well but I think you get the picture without going further. Needless to say, we will not be returning. This is unfortunate as we are guests of the Grand Summit and it was convenient that there was a restaurant on the premises. read more

I'm an organic person and love local farm to table fresh foods! My husband and I chose this place because of the local flavors it would offer. It was a slow start to their Thursday night dinner, we came in and we're there with very few others. Service was quick and kind. We ordered drinks then heard the specials and ordered. My hubby got the special Ana LOVED it! Muscles and scallops over a bed of risotto and tomatoes. He also ordered the soup of the day, a cheddar tomato I believe. I had red snapper with kale and wild rice. He was crazy about his Bloody Mary, spicy and chunky, full of flavor thumbs up from him. I had red wine. Only sad part, wine wasn't local which I was hoping to get some local Vermont wine. But that's okay! Over all great experience we loved the food! read more

The food is so fresh! We loved the fact the food was sourced from local farms throughout Vermont, and that they had a listing of those farms and could tell you about them! The staff was well-versed in the menu. We started with the apple & walnut salad - which was a perfect portion size to split between 2 people. One of our favorite parts of the salad? The FRESH cheese. Wow was it good, and of great quality! For dinner I got the daily pasta selection which was a rotini noodle with root vegetables in a basil sauce. I added chicken, and at the extra cost of $8 I was pretty disappointed it was over cooked & dried out. The dish had ok flavor, but if I went back I would likely lean towards a staple on the menu & not a daily special. My date had the steak with potatoes and he said it was packed with good flavor & you could tell all the ingredients were fresh. Another small item, our service was very timely throughout our ordering experience. However, it took an extended amount of time to get our bill upon requesting it, after already waiting a normal amount of time for it. We did not have drinks left, so we really couldn't think of any cues we were giving to explain why it took so long. read more

Very casual restaurant with plain decor, exactly what I expected. I WAS surprised with the food. Everything tasted fresh and pretty well executed. I am a NYC snob so believe me :). Came here two nights in a row and has the cheese board twice for app and steak the first night. Pork shank and chicken for the second night. We loved the cheese board - obviously. The steak was cooked to medium rare perfection, but I wasn't blown away by the mashed potatoes - no biggie. The roast chicken with mashed sweet potatoes and roasted acorn squash which was the veggie of the night, was AWESOME. It was amazingly juicy with crispy skin. The pork shank with risotto was tender and flavorful. Overall, we will be back when we are in town next time. Oh yea, Steven was our server and very nice and personable. :)) read more

I think the food is fine. What disappointed me is the atmosphere. It has none. It's basically not much more than an extension of the ski lodge and I can just picture patrons walking around with their ski boots. Glad they were open over the weekend. So easy to order by phone and pick up from the Grand Summit. The food was really good, my wife enjoyed Harriman's Salad with chicken both nights it was so good. Harrimans is very convenient if you are staying at the Summit Hotel. They have a nice selection of beers on tap and in cans at the bar. We had burgers and Fish n chips which were so/so. Perhaps we should have ordered the steak or other entree. The wait staff were excellent and attentive. read more

Alex at the bar was top notch at his craft! It was our 1st night staying at the Grand Summit Lodge, he had great recommendations for food and was very knowledgeable about the wine and beer! Great personality had ourselves and the other patrons laughing and very entertained! His hidden skill as a balloon artist, which isn't so hidden, is beyond amazing, my inner child could not believe he made me a balloon bicycle! Stayed at the grand summit and coming into this restaurant was super convenient and classy! There is a bar by the front so you can sit at the bar or sit down at a table and get served! Their cocktails are delicious and I'm not a huge alcohol type of person so I asked them to specialize my drink and it came out soooo delicious! Their small plates are pretty big so we got the mussels and chef's special of penne alla vodka pasta. The sundae dessert comes with both chocolate and vanilla ice cream. Their bread basket is delicious too and they come out with a cute butter plate and knife. Service was great and they don't rush you while you're eating. read more

Wine was wrong vintage, and served after we'd finished our app. My main was cold, but reheated well. So a strange hit or miss place. Sometimes they're attentive and friendly, next you're completely ignored. Food prep can be good, or unforgivably careless even on the same plate. Mainly seems to serve residents, so do as they do - eat elsewhere unless it's the laziest option. read more

This is definitely a far cry from any farm to table restaurant I've experienced! I didn't see any seasonal items except parsnips (yuck). The food available food wasn't all that amazing or fresh and the entrée choices were extremely limited - which would be ok if this was a seasonal restaurant as it purported to be. However, burgers, fries, calamari, and quesadillas don't translate to farm-to-table. Also, despite it being a holiday weekend, the restaurant closed at 9pm even thought there was a festival going on. There were not taxi's or ubers to be had so our choices were limited. Our server was completely unfamiliar with the menu and couldn't make any recommendations, the décor looked like a budget buffet chain, and the food was blah. read more

The menu sounded good. We were staying here. It made sense to book for Christmas Day. I tried to book via the front desk. Nobody called me back to confirm from the restaurant or front desk which was the promise. I called the restaurant. They told me they had a new booking system, took my details and request though could not confirm whether I actually had a booking. 24 hours later, I went to the front desk again. 'I just need to know if I have a booking!' I said. Finally the restaurant called me that night confirming. The next day they send me an sms asking me to confirm. Then they call me again that afternoon to confirm. Ok confirmed then! The restaurant service was amateur at best. They were slow, forgot our drinks, were very inattentive and knew nothing about anything when we asked about the food and cocktails. The lamb was so disappointing (and $36 or $38, I forget which). The steak passable. The chicken burger was good and at half the price of the other dishes definitely to be recommended. The whole experience cost $200 for two adults and two kids. This would be overpriced in any city never mind here. They are not trying at all. Not one bit. Don't get me started on the lighting and ambience. read more

In Dover Vt, there are not many food options. Most of them require a reservation, Harriman's being one of them. We did not know this, and arrived pretty late after trying to get into a few other places. The staff was very nice and accommodated us by finding us a table and serving us very quickly. The food is fine, we had a Salad and Sandwich. They seemed to have alot of drink options, especially local beers, but not alot of food options. The food was not bad, but it was nothing amazing. Before coming to the resort, I had looked forward to a nice dinner at Harrimons, as it is described as an upscale, "farm to table" restaurant. Thought it would be a nice chance to get out of ski/snow clothes and dress up! We had the comped breakfast (that comes with our suite) there on Saturday, and I had a chance to check out the dinner menu. Burgers and fries dominate the menu, and there are only a couple options for vegetarians. All we could choose from was a cheese board, a salad, a bland sounding lentil and oat burger, and an Asian style ginger pasta- for $28! The atmosphere is also pretty bland and uninspired. Nothing upscale about this place but the prices. The breakfast buffet is strictly for meat eaters, and, again, uninspired and sad (old, tired looking eggs, bacon, sausage, etc.). Otherwise, the rest of the options are typical, cheap hotel continental breakfast fare. We cancelled our reservations and will find something in one of the surrounding towns. We will go back to having breakfast at the deli (which isn't much better, but has more options and a nicer atmosphere). read more

Hands down the BEST burgers in the valley. Great beer selection too. The new chef here is very good and the bartenders are friendly and attentive. I've had the cheese platter, wings, their chicken entree and so far no disappointments. Even their frenchfries are really good! Stayed at the Grand Summit Hotel this past weekend so naturally we checked out Harriman's for a few drinks on the first night. My friend ordered a Cabernet Sauvignon and I ordered the Mt. Snow Ale. Can't complain about the ale, but my friend's cab was disgusting, I took a sip, she took a sip and sent it back. Not sure if the bottle was opened weeks ago or it was the bottom, but it was undrinkable. We told the bartender and she ordered a rum and coke instead. To our surprise, she was still charged for the glass of cab! Anywhere else, the bartender would've taken off the drink, No wonder this place has a PITIFUL rating. read more

Came here for dinner during a recent weekend ski trip. Place seated us (party of 8) quickly and service was excellent. Waitress was always attentive to our needs and friendly. In terms of food, all the food was good but keep in mind that this is a farm to fresh place so it's "healthy" food which means its going to be a little more blander and lean. I would say value for food quality and quantity is average as it is somewhat pricey but its a resort restaurant - know what you are getting into when you dine at any restaurant. read more

After seeing the foliage at Mt Snow, the husband and I decided to eat at Harriman's. We ordered the calamari and Caesar salad to start. I ordered the Chicken Marsala, while he ordered the twin filet mignons for entrees. First of all, I was a little startled by lack of entrée selections. There were five regular items on the menu, while there were additionally three menu additions or specials. We decided from what was offered, and we were somewhat satisfied with our choices. The service, however, left a few things to be desired. First of all, the soda was flat. I mean NO BUBBLES. We thought that would be no problem...but apparently it was. There must have been something wrong with the CO2 line...but I am not exactly sure. I am assuming that this restaurant is busier during the winter when skiers need something to eat. I was surprised by the lack of service and options for food. The waiter asked my husband if he was done with his bread and appetizers. My husband responded, "No. I'm just finishing. I will be done in another minute." The waiter must NOT have heard him because he just started clearing my husband's plates. My husband was too shocked to say anything, and I had food in my mouth, so neither of us said anything further. The waiter simply walked away with dishes before we were done....my husband gave me this priceless "Did that just happen" look...I just started laughing. My husband just moved his bread plate over to the center of his place setting and continued eating....The entrees were acceptable and properly cooked. We opted for no dessert...We really just wanted to get out of there...We felt like were bothering people by being there at 6:00 on a Saturday evening. read more

A regular season pass holder at Mt. Snow, I'd never been to Harriman's. Overall, I was disappointed by the cuisine and atmosphere. Perhaps it was an off night, being Christmas day, but nonetheless their special Christmas tasting menu was mostly poor as were the wine choices they offered as a pairing to their food. Before I get the to food, I should mention that on a busy evening the place will be filled with children and families from the Grand Summit Lodge. No problem if you are of that group, but if you are looking for a romantic dinner for two, try elsewhere. 1st course was a kale and bacon salad that probably should have been wilted. It was very tough to get through, and in the end not worth the trouble. The 2nd course was a baked brie which actually paired decently with the wine. Although it was all a bit sweet for me. The main courses were either an Atlantic Char or a Venison. We tried both and they were of average quality. The desert was a medley of small items, most of which were simply left as they were found. No guilty pleasures to be found anywhere. There service was typical of many Vermont places (no disrespect to locals) - very friendly and very spotty. Again, this was a busy night, so perhaps they were just swamped. Overall, my bet is that their pub food is tastier. I was hoping for a nice "farm to table" meal and got tricked into eating a low rent fake gourmet meal. Should've just had a burger. read more

While the New England clam chowder was tasty, a McDonald's burger would've been better than mine and the salmon was dry...Maybe the chef wasn't "present" this night?
