RUN, don't walk, to The Marion Chocolate Shop! This place is absolutely amazing, and I honestly loved everything about it. We went a few days after Christmas, and enjoyed our experience. The store front is very cute, and the interior is very cozy. But above all else: the CHOCOLATE! There was a wonderful aroma when you walked in. The owners take great pride in their craft, and it absolutely shows. They are incredibly knowledgeable and competent, yet still find opportunities to further their expertise. We bought so much, as it was hard to choose just a couple items. So far we have loved everything. One fun surprise: the chocolate covered Twizzlers - trust me, they are worth it. I think they would also be awesome covered in dark chocolate too. The chocolate espresso with espresso salt (I think that was the name - please correct me if I'm wrong) was AMAZING, and I think my favorite...if I *had* to pick one favorite. They have also figured out how to ship around the US, which is wonderful, because we live in Texas, and can now get their chocolates delivered to us. I also love how they care about humanity. I love that this business took COVID safety seriously during the height of the pandemic, and chuckled at the art that supported mask wearing and distancing, when it was very necessary. You must stop in to satisfy your sweet tooth! Ben and the staff are great and so accommodating! This is my 2nd year pre-ordering caramel apples from The Marion Chocolate Shop. These are absolutely the most delicious treats ever! I personally love the milk chocolate dipped in pecans and my kids like the milk chocolate dipped in oreo crumbles! I love the convenience of preordering and picking them up later. You definitely need to stop in for caramel apples and much more! read more

Amazing, over the top, exceptional! STOP what you are doing right now and GO ORDER CARAMEL APPLES! The are so completely delicious, I could go on and on, but trust me; go order some! Pecans, chocolate, caramel....how could you go wrong! Apples were on point and toppings were so perfectly balanced. I want like at least a dozen more! One apple easily serves two people when cut off the stick. Milk chocolate frogs and Milk chocolate toffee were also so completely delicious. Just wish they were in Des Moines! The woman who served my sibling and I was polite, and answered many of my questions (ei. "How much does the orange affect the mango taste in this chocolate" and "does the coffee suffocate the chocolate in your opinion?"). She gave me honest answers as I bought the two chocolates, and tried them for myself. The shop is neat, and has a small mannequin of Willy Wonka hiding in plain sight! You can also see where the staff makes the chocolate, which is neat. There are already some pre packaged chocolates if you're in a hurry, and an array of different chocolate items (like milk chocolate coated twizzlers, who would've thought?!). Pure chocolate HEAVEN! Exceptional Caramel Apples, Toffee, Frogs, all so delicious and FRESH!! Not made in some factory and put on a truck! Even though my family lives in Iowa City, we make the drive to Marion when fancy chocolates are called for (e.g., holidays, birthdays). They have an interesting array of items, and they're consistently great. I've tried a number of the various truffles, and they're all very good. I particularly recommend the Grand Marnier truffles. The employees are always friendly, and they pack up your chocolates fairly quickly unlike the people at Betty Jane's Candies who move at a glacial pace for reasons that I cannot understand. read more

I went here on Valentine's Day 2020, the guy in line in front of me had never been there or even knew it existed and he'd lived in Marion for decades. He bought $30 worth of chocolate for his wife.
