I've lived here Florio years now and there are regular issues that continue to happen that doesn't make the price tag match the apartments. 1. Listed as a gated community but the gated have maybe worked a total of ten days in two years and that not consecutive. 2. Maintaince issues- I've had a mouse issue for over a month they marked it complete even after never visiting the apartment and had to handle on my own. I'm on the second floor so probably multiple units. Broken sink took over a month to fix. When I called after two weeks the leasing agent Raine told me I could do it myself. It took another two weeks. 3. Pool has been down both summers this year was for 45 days at the start of summer. Last year it would get green and they'd shut it down for safety issues. The neighbors are great and fun monthly activities. Maya is the only reason people stay, she is literally the sweetest person, listens and tries. Any of the other 29 agents they have cycled through aren't personable and don't seem to care. Would love to stay another year but this place is falling apart and over priced. Update: After 47 days with leasing continuing to never have pest show up and me finally laying traps. The mouse was caught. On Nov 7th pest control stopped by confirmed the infestation over a month from my initial maintenance request and needed to get their supervise. I have yet to tell the mark the mouse was caught 12 days later and still haven't heard anything. read more

People leave dog poop everywhere on the community property and nothing is done about it by management... nasty!! Bathroom had MAJOR infestation of ants and then drain flies... it was so gross!! They nickel and dime you with all kinds of admin/processing fees! They outsource everything, so you are dealing with all different outside companies who charge you fees and more fees!! They ripped me off several hundred dollars, charging me $35 a month because my renters insurance had their street address and not a PO box, even though The Mark was listed as a party of interest and nothing in my lease said I had to list the PO Box!! Owners are out of state, so they don't care about you... all they care about getting your money, too!! Loud cars and motorcycles rev their engines all the time. My fiance and I have lived here for 3 years. At first the apartments were very nice with respectful residents and very little crime. They have since stopped requiring credit checks and it is very apparent. Petty crime has increased exponentially, suspicious behavior is occurring throughout the night and into early morning, and more cars come and go blaring their music for all to hear. The office staff was once very friendly and now the newest office manager is extremely condescending and acts like you aren't worth her time. Aside from the demographics, the most damaging issue has been our AC unit. We placed multiple work orders each year for the past 3 years because our AC was not working properly and was costing us 200-350$ every month year round for a 1 bedroom unit. We told the office staff multiple times and sent them proof of our bills. They would sometimes take over a week to assess our unit in the middle of summer. We had to put a window unit in just to be able to tolerate the heat. Our bill was also extremely high during the winter months too. They kept telling us that the unit was fine and switched it out twice but never went any further than that and to come change out the filter just to say they did something. Finally, after 3 years someone finally looked in the attic and found a huge hole in the duct that was bleeding air. We calculated how much money that we lost over the duration and very conservatively came to the figure of 4500$. And lord knows what we were breathing in through the air. We submitted all of our bills showing how much money that they cost us due to not properly assessing our unit and they only credited us 1000$ on a months rent. We got no formal apology nor did anyone else respond to our request to discuss further compensation. We asked for a total of 3 months rent to be compensated for each year we had to deal with their error which was extremely fair and we were ignored. SAVE YOUR MONEY! There are new properties being build throughout the area. I would go to one of them. Several of our neighbors have moved and we are actively seeking some other living arrangements. I moved here the middle of June I have a one bedroom with the yard. I really like the apartment and my dog loves the yard. Everyone in the office are very nice and helpful. The apartments outside are keep very nice and I hear very little noise. I would recommend the Mark to anyone looking for a apartment. read more

The Mark at Midlothian is a wonderful place to call home! Not only are they in a great location and beautiful apartments , but the staff is also AMAZING!!!!! The leasing staff are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. They are so friendly and helpful, and they make living here even better. On top of that , the maintenance staff is TERRIFIC! Orlando, the supervisor, is always so knowledgeable, quick, polite and helpful. I will always recommend The Mark to ANYONE looking for a new home. read more
