Nov. Special - Give Thanks Dog: turkey dog, topped with mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, cranberry relish. 5 *s for this item!

Love local businesses venturing out, love conceptually-sound food trucks, love when the owners actually work the trucks and are friendly. MW catered a work event in Troy this afternoon, coworkers and I were thoroughly pleased. Very cool menu, with items to fit every taste/budget. From chili dogs to their November special, all was well received and quickly prepared. I got the monthly special 'Give Thanks' Dog, which was a turkey dog on a standard bun, topped with mashed potatoes, gravy, tasty stuffing, and cranberry relish. Added a Faygo and some Better Made for grand total of $9. I was very happy with the quick and friendly service, great flavors, and well thought out menu. Will definitely visit again.

Soy guac'in the dog So amazingly delicious!

Edit: I went back in today and everything was great! When I went to update my review I saw that they had sent me a message about my previous visit, apologizing for the mixup and offering to comp my next order, which speaks volumes about their customer service. I opted not to take advantage of their offer because I really like their food and I think it's worth the money. Original:I really appreciate them having vegetarian hot dogs, because as a vegetarian I know how hard it is to find them. The two stars are for offering vegetarian options, unfortunately ordering them is sloppy and confusing, because there is an option on the menu for a soy hotdog with any toppings instead of a line saying that they can substitute a regular hotdog for a vegetarian one. For example, I ordered a "soy guacin' the dog" and got a plain soy hotdog because their menu is weird, so in order to get what I wanted id have to say that I wanted a "soya wanna hot dog guacin' the dog"? The space is smaaaaall, so if you have a group maybe only send one person in to order.

I had to put a $hit load of French's Mustard on this Detroiter to give it some taste! Would not get again.

Fixings and presentation aside, is still a hot dog. Looks better than it tastes and I must have got the, sleepy time crew. I don't even remember being greeted upon entry and my 4 dogs didn't look anything like the pictures people are posting. Check the post of the dogs I got. $6 -$7 for a hot dog with fancy cheese wizz is way out of line. $4 for soggy tater tots, also out of line. 4 dogs and some tater totskis for $35? Fool me once, bros... Bottom line, I'm glad I tried it, but, after winter comes and goes, I'll be just as interested to try the place that replaces the Mean Weenie. Next!!!

I was kind of disappointed to say the least. I'll try to break my experience down piece by piece. Great: 1. Sign is cool, as well as the exterior and interior design and decor. 2. All of their products are Michigan made. 3. They have great condiments and hot sauces. Good: 1. My piggly wiggly dog was presented extremely well. 2. Chili cheese taters were delicious. 3. People that work there are really friendly. So-so: 1. Small parking lot 2. Interior only has a couple of tables, however there are also a few outdoor tables as well. Disappointing: 1. Despite my hot dog's great looks, it was bland and lacked basic seasoning. 2. Multiple flies kept buzzing around our table. Hippo's Hot Dogs will remain my go-to!

Unfortunately it looked WAAAYY better than it actually tasted.

The Good Drove by this place and was intrigued by the Mean Weenie sign which is hilarious! The decor inside is simple but cool, the chalk board walls are a nice touch and it was nice a clean. The people were nice and the service was quick which is good in a pinch but I did go after the lunch hour. They also use all MI products. The Bad I had the Piggly Wiggly. The presentation of the dog was outstanding. Made me want to rip right into it. That's when the disappointment set in. The entire dog was bland. It wasn't nasty just lacking flavor. The Ugly This place is super expensive. I spent $10 bucks on 1 hot dog, 1 bag of Better Made Chips and 2 bottle of water!!! That's WAAAYY to much for a bland hotdog. Also (not major) but don't understand how they don't sell or offer a traditional Detroit Coney Dog.

Awesome food. The tatter tots were so original and good. Hot dogs were of many were tasty.

Awesome and creative twists on a simple food as in a Frank, beef dog and some sasauge types. Fresh ingredients and friendly service. Also great homemade soups.

I had the piggly wiggly and the Detroit dog. Both good but if you have to pick between the two I would go for the piggly wiggly!!!!! So good!!!! @$7 for a hotdog might be much but not here $7 was worth every bite!

    Yum! Weenies for breakfast. !!!

The Mean Weenie crew was at Kensington church today for the volunteer appreciation lunchon. They served Dearborn Frank's with Brown's Bakery buns. Their coney sauce was super hot and tasty. Also available were all the trimmings including cheese sauce and jalapeños . What a nice change from the usual punch and cookie fare. I'll be looking for the "WEENIE" wagon at other venues soon.

Definitely the best food truck business model of all of the food trucks in canton today - the wasabi hot dog has a kick! Big fan.

Service was amazing. I've never had an italian beef before but I was talked through the toppings,…read morespices, and sauces. Very patient and great vibes at the order and pickup window. I ordered the combo which is possibly the best sandwich I've ever had. Moist/well-seasoned beef, garlic bread with just right amount of garlic, italian sausage, and I added provolone as well. Everything meshed together perfectly.

I'm going to preface this by saying that I think I might just not be an Italian Beef kinda gal…read more Despite living in Chicago for a full decade I embarrassingly never had one before, but I was near Matt & Mo's and saw the rave reviews and had to give it a try. Now, objectively I can say it's very good. The portions are huge, the meat is flavorful and juicy, the peppers were good. There's just some herb or something mixed in there in the marinade/aus jus, that I just don't think I like (I think it might be fennel? Something kind of licorice-y that I don't jive with). But if you're an Italian beef fan, or enjoy that flavor profile, you're gonna love it! Now, what I did love was everything else! The fried ravioli? Delicious! The french fries? So good! And a very generous portion of both! Service was also VERY friendly and everything was prepared quite quickly! It's a walk up window but there are some picnic tables for dining there, though I chose to eat in my car before making my way back home. I would 100% come back by and go for perhaps a sausage or a coney dog next time, definitely stick with orders of those ravioli and fries, too!

We stumbled across Public House on our way home from a weekend road trip…read more They graciously welcomed us on a busy Saturday morning and were able to accommodate our impromptu visit with a short 10minute wait. The space is adorable and welcoming and the staff were just as welcoming and helpful to us, as first-timers. Public House has an extensive vegan menu that they are pretty proud of. We however opted for the regular Pastrami Hash and Chicken & Waffles. Both were delightful from taste to texture! The chicken was fried and seasoned to perfection. The fresh veggies and amazing mornay sauce made the pastrami dish my personal favorite. We look forward to trying them intentionally very soon!

So unfortunately have to remove some stars. The vegan food went downhill since the previous chef…read moreleft this place. Last two times we went there we left disappointed. It's not as it used to be. Carrots were hard, not cooked enough and so much smaller than last time about a year ago. Buffalo Cauliflower was dry as hell, the Buffalo sauce was just slightly drizzled over, no flavor whatsoever. I had to ask for extra sauce. Very disappointing. Portion very small. Other dishes were also average. The best one was the eggplant parmesan pasta. I don't know what is going on with this place but it seemed like they don't care that much anymore with providing exceptional dishes. Everything just became average.
