    Detroit Style Cheesesteak

Very busy on a Friday night with carry outs and dine ins. We ordered 2 sandwiches and fries to dine in and it was about a 20 minute wait for our food. The employees are very nice and helpful, the decor is really cool and interesting. The prices are a bit high so we hoped the food would live up to the hype, and it did. The Atwater chicken was delicious, very saucy though and I needed several napkins. My husband really enjoyed the cheesesteak but there were a lot of jalapeños on it. We shared the garlic cilantro fries and they were really good. Definitely a good experience and we would come back to try more of the menu

This place is the best. The garlic cilantro fries are worth every penny. Good, large sandwiches. Super fresh and made well! Always leave satisfied. Just had the cheesesteak egg rolls for the first time and it won't be the last!!!

    Detroit Style Cheesesteak Cajun Fries

First time trying this place and ordered it through UberEats. Everything was very good! Ordered the cheesesteak and Cajun fries. Fries were a bit soggy but I attribute that to delivery so I'd love to try them in the restaurant. The seasoning and spice level was perfect and they went great with the jalapeño ketchup! The cheesesteak and sauce was delicious. It was also so much food! Just a bit on the messy side so I was glad they gave us a million napkins and wet wipes. Solid choice! Nothing extra fancy or special so that's why 3 stars but definitely will order again.

One of my new favorite places! Very straightforward to order online. Items can sell out closer to closing time, and I have found out that it will update online as well which is nice. Pick up time has always been accurate despite how busy it can get. The restaurant is in a good location, not a busy street so easy to get to. Ample parking. A lot of seating inside that is under-utilized right now since it's colder out. I've only gotten taken out here and I have loved it every time. Portions are large! The fries are a whole tray/box of fries, and I love that they don't skimp out on the amount of food. Every item I've gotten (3rd Street Detroit Cheesesteak, Cheesesteak Egg Rolls, Garlic Cilantro Fries) have all been incredible. Most of the time, I can't finish the entire meal (especially if I order fries) in one sitting, so having leftovers is always great. I will definitely be back, and will probably try everything on the menu at least once. Staff is friendly and personable too.

    I-75 Chicken Shawarma

First time in and it did not disappoint. We ordered the I-75 chicken shawarma sandwich, chicken tenders, fries, and the Fisher Fwy. Fish (catfish), plus a strawberry lemonade. Portions were generous and everything was seasoned really well without being overpowering. The chicken tenders are officially picky-eater approved (which is saying a lot). The catfish was seasoned and cooked just right. The strawberry lemonade was refreshing and not overly sweet. Excellent customer service. The gentleman was friendly, personable, and welcoming. Bonus points for a very clean seating area and bathrooms--always appreciated! Overall, great food, great portions, and a comfortable place to eat. We'll definitely be back!

My wife and I went here for a lunch date. Very consistent experience. It does have a limited menu but whatever you get will be great! Only downside, be prepared to wait for your food. Comes out fresh and hot but it takes some time. Support a small business and give it a try.

Really good food. The fries were a little too greasy for my taste but the sauces were amazing.

The French bread is so crispy & fresh, and it's quite full. Delicious! It was large enough to share, which we did. It's probably 10-12" long, and we generally want a lighter lunch. While I was waiting this time, I really checked out their pastry/desert case, and they were all gorgeous! They said they come from a local bakery. I'm not usually a desert person, but I got a slice of the Pistachio Ricotta layered cake and it was so good. Really light; thinking layers of cake and thicker layers of both of the two fillings. Perfection Open & airy, nice relaxing space in this building that was formerly Panera. I can't understand why they weren't packed with people. Get out there & support local restaurants!! Fresh, delicious ingredients! Ready pretty quick too, so it's a great lunch hour option. I'll get more pictures of next time I go, though I did get a picture some of the pastries.

If I'm being completely honest, during my recent week long stay in Troy, MI for work, I stopped by…read morethe New Saigon Market 4 of the 7 days. And the primary reason was their ah-mazing banh mi sandwiches. IMHO, the best in the entire city!!! The majority of the square footage at New Saigon Market is dedicated to the grocery portion of the business. There are aisles of Asian goods such as sauces, instant noodles, a refrigerated section of produce, and a freezer case of all types of dumplings, meats, etc. There was also a fun display of figurines near the window, including a Pikachu, which I purchased for my niece. Using both the Yelp app and recommendations from locals, they told me this place serves up legit and surprisingly, bargain priced Viet sammiches. When you walk in, the kitchen portion is near the registers. After perusing the menu, I ordered a number one combo and a chicken, since the roasted pork was sold out (boo!). And I was SHOCKED that in 2024, you can still find a banh mi for $5. In the DC area, you can't find one priced for less than $8.00!!! Tip: you can order your banh mi's either toasted or untoasted. Get the toasted. After approximately 5 minutes a friendly worker came out and presented the number one banh mi, in a foil wrapper. My chicken was not toasted so it was in a plastic bag. I couldn't wait, so I unwrapped the number one combo and literally DEVOURED it in the parking lot. The bread (which they make on premises) was toasty outside, yet had a flaky and soft interior. And while these aren't the biggest sandwiches, there was plenty of meat filling and pickled veggies, with just the right amount of pate smeared. Again, did I mention (as of this review) that it was only $5? They have a special menu on the weekends, so I also stopped by get some Bánh Bò Nướng (Vietnamese honeycomb green cake), Goi Cuong (summer rolls) and the Xôi Mặn (sticky rice with Viet ham and sausage). Everything was delicious and I walked out for about $20; which again, this would have been at least $10-$15 more in the DC area. If I lived here, I'd be at New Saigon Market several times a week. It's a true hidden local gem. Five well deserved stars!

They have an extensive menu to include vegetarian options which was nice to see. They also have many local brands to include chips, sodas, and other small local business products (caramelized nuts, baked goods, etc.)! On the topic of local businesses, they also had a board which allowed local owners to post business cards and event alerts, fantastic for drawing the community together. Now, I ordered a Reuben as a lover of corned beef and sauerkraut. It was delicious and sizeable, a fair portion size for the money as well. The chips were also delicious having gone for the salt, pepper, and onion variety. A solid crunch and bursting with flavor. Among the positives I have two negatives, both of which are not adequate enough to lower their star ranking. Firstly, it took around 20-25 minutes to get our food after ordering. I rarely hold timing against a restaurant as having worked in food, I know lunch rush exists and things happen. To mitigate this (for those in the area) I believe they have an online ordering system, which I would recommend utilizing! Secondly, they do not have indoor seating, so it is a very grab and go type establishment. This is counteracted by the multitude of benches around Royal Oak, though it would be nice to have some amount of seating, especially for those with accessibility needs and those waiting on their food. Overall, Oak House Deli is solid and delicious and I will definitely stop by again when I am in the area!
