Food wasn't bad. My husband and I both had falafel sandwiches with pickles (extra 50¢). It was nice to find a vegan option got sure. The pitas seemed like the store bought type. We are spoiled at home with great Lebanese places and we are used to better. The pickles are not fresh either, but the kind we had with school lunch. It was affordable though for airport food. The staff was fine... not super friendly but not exactly rude. They gave us plenty of napkins. Yay! While I didn't love it, it was decent and vegan, and not too expensive. Also it was clean and fast. 4 stars!

I enjoy the Firehouse Subs subs, honestly a decent variety to choose from. You're able to customize…read moreeach sub by removing or adding toppings/ingredients. I'm lactose intolerant so I'm a big fan of having this as an option. Service here is no frills no thrills, all game. They're fast for an airport food store front. They'll yell out your order number or name so be sure to be close to the counter as you wait for your meal.

Luckily I saw this place again on the way back and I knew I had to have it. I ended up getting the Club on a Sub hot sandwich, and I must say, it did not disappoint! The flavors worked well together, the sauce brought it home. I wanted to eat half and save the other for later, but I couldn't help it. Even though I was full beyond belief (one sub could feed 2 people), it was definitely worth it. Service was quick, you can order on your phone, they call out your name like a Starbucks. Each sub can be modified to your liking. And they offer drinks, chips and plenty of extras to go with your sub. It's a small restaurant, but had plenty of seating, with chargers (it is inside an airport after all). Food came out quick, hot and delicious. Would come back again to try other subs. I kinda wish they sold in halves, so I can try more flavors in one go. Welp, until next time!

(And that ATM machine at the corner? It looks like it'll not only steal your identity but your soul as well.) My last visit (2023-ish) I tried their 'combo' (one hot dog, one sausage) which was... okay. But when they're slinging a double Italian hot dog? They're firing on all cylinders. Tommy's is not shy to pile a wicked amount of grub into that pizza bread. The hot dogs kind of get lost under a mountain of deep-fried and oily (but delicious) sliced spuds. (I do wish they weren't so stingy with the peppers and onions to really balance out the meal.) The 'Holy Trinity' when it comes to Italian hot dogs in North Jersey is a no-brainer... Dickie Dee's, Jimmy Buff's and Tommy's. (For me - no one comes close to Dickie Dee's but my one kid said Tommy's was his [current] fave.) As for that couple that came cashless? A good Samaritan behind me pulled out a wad of cash (it's not wise to pull out a fistful of cash anywhere you go but it's ESPECIALLY not wise when you're in the rough and tumble streets of Elizabeth, let's be real) and after swapping Venmo information everything was a-okay. Take-out/to-go only. Parking is atrocious. Guy behind the glass - always aces. (Oh, and... cash only!)
