Fun times at Jennifer's!…read more Not only is it a girlie haven in terms of fabulous little party gifts and cutesy birthday ideas, books, things with feathers on it and any sort of frou-frou thing you can imagine, but it's also a great pharmacy specializing in natural/homeopathic products. AND it's got a fairly new soda fountain. Apparently, the owner always dreamt of running her own fountaing and I think purchased one on Ebay. It really adds to the originality of the place. It's just an all-around fun place to visit. They expanded not long ago, so there's even more stuff from which to choose. I like their large selection of liquid stevia and teas. They actually have some stuff you can't find at Whole Foods. Imagine that! AND you're supporting a locally owned business. Always a good thing!

Hey, an unexpected treat for lunch in Clayton! Jennifer's Pharmacy (and soda/lunch counter) was a…read morefun place for lunch, and the grub was pretty decent, too. There is an actual pharmacy at the back of the store, although I never actually got back that far. i was far too enthralled by all the kitschy gifts and just generally fun stuff they had for sale in the store. Just all kinds of goofiness. Great time for browsing/shopping. The soda/food bar was a real throwback. You just sit on one of the '50s time warp bar stools and place your order. I got me a chili dog, a Festivus for the Restivus ice cream soda (more on that later), and then the waitresses talked me into a slice of chocolate meringue - yeah, you heard me right - pie. The chili dog "prep" area is pretty unassuming, a simple hot dog roller and a couple of crock pots. But hey, home made chili fixin's sure beat from a can. And they asked me if I wanted cheese and onions, so I was able to say yes but light on the onion. That's how it came, too. The chili dog was pretty good. Standard dog, but seemed to be a larger variety. Chili was definitely home made, with a nice variety of ingredients. Just a bit bland, though. The Festivus for the Restivus ice cream soda was from a list of 5 Holiday Specials they had for shakes and ice cream sodas. Festivus is made of blueberry and blackberry syrups in seltzer with ice cream. I know the name has nothing to do with the ingredients, but it was still mighty tasty. An authentic soda jerk drink, that you just don't find anymore. Now they intrigued me with the suggestion of chocolate meringue pie for dessert. I was already full, but....anyway, my slice was the first one from the pie that had just come out of the oven. Nice thing about meringue, you can slice it while it is still hot. So I get this pie slice with a real crust, hot chocolate filling, and 3 inches of meringue. Who'd a thought those flavors would mix so well. They do! A final thought on the waitresses. They were a hoot. Very friendly, talkative, fun, don't mind kidding you - and they even took a picture of me and my pie slice & put it on the store's Facebook page (with my permission, of course). So the food was pretty good, the place is great to browse, and the experience was enjoyable.

Walgreens has continued to erode and deteriorate after the destructive influence of private equity…read morecontinues to suck all the life and competency from Walgreens as a corporation. The company can't keep pharmacists on staff. What was at one time a high paying great career now is a position that has high turnover due in very large part to the ensh*ttification artificially and unnecessarily woven into it by private equity. Twice in the past few months I've gone to pick up my medicine only to find out that the pharmacy is temporarily closed (during very normal and routine business hours mind you), which means they don't have a pharmacist available that day. Imagine going to pick up a medicine that is vital to your health only to find out that the pharmacy is closed and you have to either wait for them to reopen or transfer your prescription to another store, both of which are a major inconvenience and waste of precious time for the customer. And when they are open expect to wait a good 15 or more minutes many times in the drive through line... In addition, it normally takes them multiple days to fill what are simple scripts for blood pressure medicine. Staffing is so chaotic at Walgreens that the app many times no longer tells you when your medicine will be ready for pick up. There are still better pharmacies out there. There's no reason to have your medicine fulfilled at Walgreens. It's completely mismanaged by upper management. Note: this review is a review of corporate inadequacy and NOT the employees at this location as I've had no issues with them. I feel bad for them being caught up in such abysmal management.

This pharmacy is literally the worst pharmacy I've ever used. That's saying a lot, I'm 40 and on…read morechronic meds. I had 3 scripts sent over 4 days ago. Get a text the needed more info to fill so I call and the worker says 'oh we don't have any in stock' but then comes back on the phone and says well I have 1/3. Ok, I'll take that. When will my other 2 be ready? She said tomorrow. Ok, whatever. Go back the next day, they still don't have the 2, the lady says time they'll be ready. So I go back the next day and they had #2/3 but 3/3 will be ready after 3pm. I go back before they close and then I hear wet wet don't have it in stock, it'll be here tomorrow. So today I come (day 4) and the lady says they're being unloaded from our truck right now, you can come inside and I'll have them ready in 15min. I told her I'd be back within the hour as I have a baby in case. I waited 2 hours, come to the 5 car drive through and get all the way to the window just to see they had just placed a sign that the drive through was closed! So annoying. So I unload baby, go inside to quickly grab them. Of course they aren't ready! Pharmacist says 'oh I didn't think you'd want to spend the cost that they cost. Like ma'am this is my 6th trip over 4 days-what else could I have done to make you aware I want my meds?! So had to sit and wait 40 min for something that should've been stocked from the get go, it's not an uncommon need. While waiting about 15 people come to the pharmacy and literally only 1 person had meds that were ready to be picked up! Every one else's weren't ready and 2 they didn't even have in stock. 1 lady in the drive through was demanding they watch their security cameras as she was adamant she had not picked up her meds. I fully believe they messed that up as well but now that lady will have to fight for her meds and prove their incompetence as well. Day 1 when they said they didn't have my meds in stock I asked them to transfer my meds to a different Walgreens that did. She talked me out of it promising everything would be ready next day-gosh I regret that now but I'd rather just come off my meds than ever have to use them again.
